That's not what you were saying during the Alpha/Beta with us, I'm surprised at this U-Turn bro. Wish you could enjoy it with us again.

Im enjoying it. Lvl 11. At work now so cant play.

But its goddamn obvious this game could have been 10x bbeter with some slight tweaks.

Oh well Bungie doesnt listen to its community (anymore)..

Early content is pretty grind intensive and early loot is a whole lot of re-skins.

Later game, going by others, opens things up a bit with more unique weapons and armour. No idea about Raids yet but I'd say they'll be more unique than the story missions.

PvP is fun. Probably my favourite part of the game. It has a Halo feel but has it's own feel too. I'm looking forward to stuff like Iron Banner.

Story is fun with a friend or two as it reduces the repetitiveness of a lot of the missions I've played so far. It was definitely made to be played with others.

Overall, my biggest complaints could have been solved with proper social features. Like open chat. Actual chat. I see lots of other players running around doing their own thing but I can't talk to them.

How the hell am I meant to interact in a game reliant on being an open social experience with no actual social features? Unless you go up to every person you meet and spam fireteam requests. It pretty much demands that you leave the game and use 3rd party options to find people to play with.

It's just an odd choice by Bungie and they knew since the Beta that this was an issue brought up by many.

Even worse in PvP when you can't even talk to your own team. Which I think will be an issue in something as intense as Iron Banner.

I saw a group of guardians holding down an area on Earth and all I wanted to do was say hi.
This could end up being a serious issue with this games lifespan. Over time people will leave the game which means players friend groups will shrink with no proper in game way to make new friends over time.

It relies on 3rd party sites to make new friends and even then that's no where near as fast as just saying hi to someone as you walk past them in game.

Especially when the game just comes out since everyone is new and willing to share their excitement with other players.

And only a handful will ever, ever use a website to find people to play with.

I'm enjoying it, but I feel like there's definitely areas where it could be largely improved in fairly simple ways.

I wish there were more strikes. I wish the entire game was based on strikes like the devils lair.

completely agree. I REALLY REALLY hope bungie turns around on this one and enables it. I feel like we're moving backwards - voice was never an issue before. Just have a simple mute for people you dont want to talk to. Shit, the feature is already in the game by clicking R3 on a person!

i mean, at the VERY VERY least, have chat in Pvp.

Finally beat the moon boss after like 45 minutes. Holy shit, that took forever, and it really wasn't made worth my while. Not too much experience, maaaaybe one half decent loot grab and a couple drops. So much trouble for so little.

I can see why they disabled it to be honest, a lot of people don't like being hassled for sucking at PvP.

It's not that hard to sort fireteams for anything either.. It's a troll reduction measure that is a bit annoying, but I can see why they are doing it.

Do the subclass abilities level up quicker or something? Because I just unlocked mine, and I'd basically be downgrading my character going forward if I wanted to progress with the rest of the game from the look of things :/

And i'm not exactly wanting to do all the previous missions again or something, the game is way too repetitive to do that to myself.

Right, most people don't like being hassled but give us the option to be able to mute or not. I mean even PvZ: Garden Warfare has that damn option. Don't like chat? Just hit mute all. If you're on a team, I don't see why you can't communicate with said team, hey cover A while I cover B!

Same in Dota2, where you get team mates shitting on each other just cause you're having a bad day or you just don't play as good as everyone would like to. True, they could give you mute all button, but I don't mind having them muted all time - makes you concentrate more on the game rather than concentrating on people crying and bitching.

Boring game.

My own fault. I thought going in it was more like planetside or battlefield. Feels like a last gen game in many ways. A bit like borderlands without the color or fun.

but it's not just in PvP, for example in the tower you get put together with randoms. Why can't I have the option to voice chat someone if I want to team up with them? I have to spam request join fireteam each person I see? Or perhaps pressing down on the D-Pad to dance will get them to join?

I get why they do it, but I don't get why they went to such extreme. Just have an option to enable or disable voice chat and I think complaints are gone.

I'm sure they will put it in eventually once the game has been out, right now it reminds me of battlefield, only hear your squad.

My problem with proximity chat moves beyond trolls.
-poor feedback on mics
-hearing people talking in background
-music in background
-heavy breathers
-hearing the game in their mics

Its a laundry list of no

Game needs keyboard support chat in the tower. Go out, invest $20 for a USB keyboard and call it a day.

Made it to Venus last night. I remember posting about it but kept the game feeling fresh. I am actually looking forward to playing it for longer.

If the planets all had different enemy types it would have a very PSO feel to it. Moon and Old Russia both sucked because it had mostly the same damn enemies.

I decided to be the honourable man this morning and show up at work like normal. Now I am regretting that decision after everyone showing off their awesome loot lol.

What do you get for trading 50 Spinmetals?

40 Spinmetals, or 40 of any type materials that are found on the Planets/Moon that are scattered about

Like Earth = Spinmetal, Moon = Helium, etc.

Trade them in either to the Crucible or Vanguard Quartermaster
You receive marks/rep/glimmer/, no clue if they nerfed or buffed the amount you get, in the Beta you got like +5 Marks, 250 Glimmer, like +25 XP for Rep

Crucible is the robot behind counter from the Crucible NPC, just look across
Vanguard NPC is where the Shipwright is, opposite of Dead Orbit

What's the best way to get glimmer? I've been dismantling armour and stuff but I haven't even broke 1000 yet and I'm on Venus now.

A few of my tweets on the subject:

-If they put Halo skins over #Destiny It would totally be Halo the MMO!

-A lot of people are coming in saying you can level cap 20 in about 12 hours with all strike missions done. Not impressed #Destiny

-Apparently watching the ghost fiddle around with computers and defend the area happens A LOT in #Destiny Where is the variety?

-Reading the internet and #Destiny is getting slammed. How long have I waited? 500 million and no variety to the mission structure.

Really enjoying playing the game with friends, and love how some missions are challenging on hard setting. My gripes: Some of the levels just look too similar and the story makes no fucking sense. Also, holy fuck how many times do we need to defend the ghost from enemy waves??

Random question, I am a level 9 hunter, when do you guys think I will be able to find a cloak?

played for 5+ hours. I played on my own at first and found a random guy an we teamed up to beat the first big world. It was intense as we kept dying but we did it. I'm suprised how much I like it as Ive never played borderlands or diablo before. But I felt right a home with the shooting and it has the feel of halo to me (played halo 3 a lot with friends)

12 hours? psh I'm 18 now with about 15 hours. Still not wanting for stuff to do as well mind.

I see your point. We will get this adressed by Bungie pretty soon probably :) For now you have to get stoked without that option :p

Look up a few posts, I posted a youtube video...

I Glimmer Farmed for 4.5 hours straight, I earned roughly 12k
If we had BETA level of Glimmer per chest, it was 5,000/hour
Looks like you earn roughly < 3,000/hour, this is killing mobs so they drop green engrams, gear you dismantle, you don't need

Really they 50% nerfed that shit
The upside is you get gear/materials to offset it
Also, rare chance of getting crazy stuff out of it

I earned a Mote of Light from a Glimmer Chest, I'm only 17...

If you really want I can stream on my PS4 if a few of you are interested, show you my condensed, but real quick Glimmer/Gear farming technique

Is it me or is the Cryptarch much more difficult now to level up? Also where can I farm engrams at level 7-8? Loot seems to be less than beta.

That was rough. We needed Rocket launchers... we did not once make it drop down so we can make higher dmg. FOCUS ON THE LEGS. Also my Headset was not working somehow...

I noticed that damaging the legs was the way to go. I don't know if the voice chat is working if you're not in a party. I didn't find my headset tho to test it.

And why in hell was this mission we did marked as LVL4 (Normal) in the mission select screen when we eventually encountered some LVL8 enemies while being LVL2/LVL3... :D

A few of my tweets on the subject:

-If they put Halo skins over #Destiny It would totally be Halo the MMO!

It has Bungie's signature style, but no. It owuld take more than a reskin to make it Halo the MMO. Especially as it isn't an MMO...

-A lot of people are coming in saying you can level cap 20 in about 12 hours with all strike missions done. Not impressed #Destiny

The level cap being low is a GOOD thing. No one wants to have to grind for days/weeks to hit cap. This isn't an MMO. The game will be supported past max level with more raids and strikes, etc... THIS is the point of the game: hit max level then hunt for loot.

Whether or not the Raids will be enough to support this, or if the DLC will have enough content to justify buying it, etc... that remains to be seen.

-Apparently watching the ghost fiddle around with computers and defend the area happens A LOT in #Destiny Where is the variety?

To be fair, Halo didn't ever have much variety and people loved those games.

The problem here is not the repetitve missions themselves, but the stuff srounding them. The actual level design, the enemy encounters, the story (or lack of).

-Reading the internet and #Destiny is getting slammed. How long have I waited? 500 million and no variety to the mission structure.

You need to do some research on the money spent.

KWORN, you're not helping yourself by advertising your twitter

Goddammit, why can't tomorrow come faster? I wanna play Destiny, dammit. ;(

And why in hell was this mission we did marked as LVL4 (Normal) in the mission select screen when we eventually encountered some LVL8 enemies while being LVL2/LVL3... :D

This seems to happen when there is another (in your case: lvl8) fire team on the same map.

It's where the Awoken queen and her asshole brother live..I think you go there twice, probably left out any further interaction so they can make people buy expansions.

The fallen you see there are from the House of the Wolves. Guess the name of the second expansion coming ?

Safe to say where and what and who will be featured in the second expansion.

Whats up with farming glimmer / loot before hitting lvl 20?
Seem like time wasted to me, before I hit lvl 15 I had about 1-2k glimmer, now Im lvl 17 and sitting on 5k glimmer.

Its not like you can spend it on anything worthwhile before hitting 20, loot is also replaced constantly so why farm for it?

Any german xb1s around level 6/7 wanting to start cooping the moon missions? (starting with the first) (starting 14:00 german time ;)) I know this is probably a little too specific ;)

I would like to point out that at no point do you ever "defend the ghost" against waves cause the ghost can't be damaged and enemies don't even attack him. They go strictly for you.

Bungie luckily did NOT implement the shit of "protect this very open thing from enemy fire when enemies can snipe at it from miles away" shit games usually do.

Love this game, spent as much time as I could yesterday on it and really wish I wasn't working today so that I could get back to it.

Thus far am a level 9 Titan and just finished the 2nd Moon mission. Only done 2 PvP matches but did well (+1 and +11) and the team won both matches.

Also, is it just me or has this been given a difficulty boost since the Beta? I completed the Devils Lair strike 3 times in the Beta, twice with only 2 of us, but this time round....the Laser Wire section, I can't recall it being that crazy, again only 2 of us but it was touch and go several times - so intense!! Unfortunately I got kicked just as that section was about to finish but that aside networking was rock solid with no noticeable lag.

Edit - Taken from post above by Hammer24, perhaps it was more difficult due to the 3rd team member being a level 10 - a level 10 who promptly quit after getting iced in the first encounter with some Acolytes, a Knight and a Servitor.

Are you self advertising your twitter page with this garbage?

I swear I think I need to avoid OT until all the trolls moved onto the next big thing.

I know it's probably unlikely, but I wish that Bungie would do something about damaged Ghost edition boxes. I mean, I know it might not necessarily be their fault, but the gesture would be nice. Nothing too major for me, my lid is just torn in two corners. I was really hoping to be able to display the box.

Other than that, very addicting game.

Why are you posting here if you dislike the game so much?
Go back to Twitter. Maybe Bungie will be nice and refund you.

Cause how the hell else are you going to level up your Cryptarch...
Also the more you loot, the more you dismantle, more you dismantle, the more materials you have

Go try to get 356 Spinmetals, took me 4.5 hours to do so
Now I can get 4 more, and trade them in 9 times either to the Vanguard or Crucible quartermaster and level up them quickly
Earn stuff along the way, or keep stockpiling, for the inevitable, Rare+ gear/weapons that require said materials...

You can get to 20 quickly, good luck getting the mats you need to upgrade
I can go and buy out the Green Engrams at the Cryptarch, repeat the process, level him up (very slowly due to nerf), then dismantle the trash I don't need and earn materials in the process

So my 18,000 Glimmer, just got me materials from weapons/gears, also leveled up my Cryptarch who will now better decipher those Engrams once he ranks/levels up =D

Oh to add I have played the game for about 7 hours last night and made it to level 10 and completed the strike mission in Russia.

I did not want to come in here sounding like I had just read a bunch of stuff not playing the game :)
