I doubt the story is finished. The way it was structured still leaves tons of questions that need to be answered.

Maybe I am blind but I am on XboxOne I see no "Fireteam Privacy" in the roster area =/ Really dumb if somehow xbox version doesn't have a simple join block funcion PS4 has.

On the roster, on the Fireteam list to the left you have an icon instead of arrows. That icon lets you change the privacy. If it's there anyway, which I'm assuming it is.

Yes science fantasy. You have to have some freaking form of physics in place. If you are disregarding physics completely like that then you should no longer call it a science fiction/fantasy aha

Yes, fantasy. They can do they want, like magic, time travel and terra-forming a gas giant.

What does the "science" part in that even mean? Scifi and scifan have literally nothing to do with actual science. In the context "science" just means "space."

Go to roster, and all the way on the left of that screen you should see your name, and above it Fire Team and what looks like two silhouttes of people. Click on that and you can edit your privacy to Public, Friends, Invite, or Closed.

What the hell?

King's Watch is still blocked off...

I'll try to help you out, (though have it on ps4) go to your character load out screen, hit l1 to move menus to the left, your fireteam should be defaulted to friends, click on that and change your settings

The Traveler opened up and swallowed Jupiter.
It then shat out a garden world.

Here is an ingame picture of Jupiter:

i'm near the end of venus in missions, level 15, done my fair share of free roam and raids or whatever they are called all with my cousin and his friend, I have mixed feelings for the game right now.

The story doesn't feel epic, it's all search here explore there defend this console while I hack for data stuff, I don't mind that but not every time please.

With how fast you level up it makes loot finding rather basic, i'm changing my gun every mission and usually use the best thing I have at the time, even playing some story missions on hard it's rather straight forward, i'm expecting the true loot search to begin when I hit level 20.

Without seeing mars, nearly every other location is ripped up rocks and grass, venus could do with more internal building gameplay, why can't we ascend an old skyscraper or something?

The tower always feels empty to me, is there not a valid reason why these towers can't support 24 users at a time? 12 seems way too low and boring.

It's not the PSO replacement I hoped it would be, sadly.

Anyone up for doing a few of the first Venus missions right now? No mic at the moment but I'll stick together :) I'm currently level 10. PM me if you want.

Tower is actually 16 people.

My copy arrived this morning and I've sent it straight back :(
FPS games for me are about interesting enemy encounters with varied and intelligent enemies/vehicles to fight against.

I've been watching Destiny and while the shooting mechanics look fine, in terms of encounters and fire fights, Bungie look like they've taken a step backwards compared to Halo. Fighting enemies looks pretty boring in this and while I appreciate that theres much more to the game than just killing enemies, the shooting mechanics and enemy encounters are the most important aspect for me in any game where shooting is the primary action.

I just finished the story. Wow, that was boring. It feels like they took Halo and watered it down to fit their ambitions for a new franchise. I literally spent 15 hours shooting scout rifles (and sometimes auto rifles), scrounging for universal ammo clips, and holding 'X' so my ghost can do a thing to make more enemies appear. Enemies aren't fun to fight because they all take way too many bullets. There are too few chests to make exploration feel worthwhile. And I could go on and on but now I'm just bummed out.
Sounds like you only played 40% of the game, cheer up buckaroo and get back out there.

Less looking, more playing.

To each his own, but the shooting mechanics and enemy encounters are what I like best about the game.

Not at least having the ability to matchmake for story missions is one of the most baffling decisions I have ever seen.

Like, I genuinely want to hear bungies reasoning. Because I just can't wrap my head around such an omission for this type of game.

Completely agreed. I'm wondering how "no matchmaking in raids" became a story but this slipped under the radar. Those defend ghost/horde mode missions too complicated to trust matchmaking with randoms too?

Wait a second, so you didn't actually hold a controller and play it yourself, you let someone's stream make that determination for you?

This new generation... I will never understand you folks

The a. I. Is pretty damn smart in this game, yeah they may not chase you across a map, but they will evade and let their shield recharge before attacking you again.

There really isn't much more than that, at least not to me. There aren't many hard choices to make with your loadout or with the "tech tree" (it's more like a single-file tech line). You find the occasional chest and between missions you do a couple minutes of busy work to equip the better equipment you've found.

Wow, such rebel, so cool

The shooting mechanics are great. The actual enemy encounters...well...

What do you dislike about the encounters? I mean, the AI seems to be pretty smart to me, they hide behind cover, move away from grenades, try and flank us…
I’m still on Earth so maybe it becomes boring to me as well when I’m 10 levels up, but so far I really like the encounters and my buddy does too.

It just feels a little bare, I miss PSO lobbies with people zooming around on photon sofas :(

I dont know, I mean, the tower isn't really huge or anything. 16 people actually looks pretty nice and busy cause they are mostly at the same vendors all the time.

Dear Bungie, I personally hate enemies that are aware of how much shield they have, and somehow are omniscient in where to hide outside of your POV

Man, this thread slowed down damn quick :D

Fuck yeah it did. People are playing the game. My friends list has been booming all day. I played about six more hours.

Then went to bed and played two more via remote play. Game is addicitive. :D

Destiny, man...Game has the most perfectly crafted fun loop.

I love the enemy AI in this game. It's fantastic how, no matter the size of the enemy, if you're kicking their ass they'll run away/hide to recover (or cower).

The enemy encounters may not be the greatest but I do love it when they react in a realistic way instead of just running toward you.

Despite all the negativity I'm reading, I can't wait to get the game (in about a week and a half, when I get paid :p). Loved the beta.

Bought the game on Us store and had a 10 minute play before work this morning. Not really in to it yet but it feels special. I can't wait to go in further.

Loved the Alpha, loved the Beta, and really having fun now, too.
But Jesus, there is some serious stuff, that is pissing me off.
The story. But okay, I can deal with that. Didn't bother me in Diablo. Doesn't necessarily bother me here.
No chat. No communication. Zones feel empty, no NPCs, just the same old enemys over and over again. SOME sort of variation in enemys would have been nice. But I can also deal with that. Solution: play with friends. Alrighty.
But then there's the little things, like..
..not being able to re-pickup bounties, you got from a lead at the postman and then abandoned to get some space. They're just gone.
The nonsense in this whole grimoire shabang.
The story missions. No, let's call it "the story mission", because it's basically just one behing rehashed.
PvP is saving it right now.

It's just basic Halo 1 AI. Doesn't make it any less annoying/

So I bought the digital guardian edition. How do I access all the digital goodies now?
