All PvP complaints aside, I LOVE the SP. I'm getting giddy just thinking about playing more...

I even skipped my first class of the semester today :D

Gotta leave in 40 minutes though :/

It seems like I've been getting a lot less glimmer than in the alpha/beta so far. Any tips on getting more without, you know... compromising the game's fun factor?

the rocket yard run is a great way to level, pick up materials, and nail a few patrol quests/dailies

the money per chest is tuned down significantly but its still worth the time.

honestly, i think i've picked up most of my money through PvP. if you're any good - PvP will level you faster and get you paid quicker than anything else (crucible drops are complete bullshit though imo)

I don't know, I hope it all gets fixed. IMO, shotgun damage range should be shortened or keep the range and reduce the effectiveness. Fusion rifle, despite missing, still gives you plenty of time to try again in a firefight (most of the time).

I'm not sure how much farther you could pull the shotgun range in, honestly. The damage fall off of every shotgun I've seen is pretty heavy. Because of the radar I don't think pulling them in farther will do change much; they really aren't useful for doing much but guarding blind corners against players that haven't learned maps that well yet. For basically every other engagement scenario you are better off with a fusion rifle.

I love how some bosses have the whole PSO thing where they flinch if you hit them with a crit sniper, so you can basically chain them and hold them in place for your teammates to do what they want.

Anyone else annoyed all the factions are PvP based?

Why isn't there PvE factions where you can join up, take special missions from em and get points toward awesome faction specific gear. There is Vanguard, but that is it.

I really wish there was some difficulty to match your level. Every story mission has a recommended level that is like 3-4 levels below me. I'm choosing Hard Mode every time, but it's still way too easy. I'm just rushing through, taking down mini-bosses with a couple of shots.

Earth was really fun because every enemy was a higher level than me. That's the way I want it to be. The enemy AI is really challenging when you actually have to fear them.

What gun setup do you have? I've ran hard missions solo since the beginning and the bosses take forever to kill.

I'm hoping each has at least two planets/areas, and a a level cap increase

Based on what we have, I'd imagine it will be around one planet's worth of content per pack.

Continuation of story missions.
A few strikes.
A new raid.
Maybe some additions to the explorable areas.
New items.

Something like that seems reasonable.

Yes, that'll be suitable.

Prepare to be sorely disappointed then. First one has 3 PVP maps, 3 story missions, and 2 strikes (1 is a PS exclusive until late 2015).

Now that feels like a waste of 30 dollars and I won't forgive myself for buying the Guardian Edition. What's the source?

And if raids are the main thing, then I will be screwed over even worse...damn.

Definitely dont sleep on the sniper rifles. I di t use them in the beta but they are tops. I had been using pulse and scout rifles again devil walker in the corner of devils lair mission. I needed ammo so went to that back building roof where you walk in. Take out the captain and vandal (get more ammo). Snipe the legs from back there. I went from 50-90 damage with rifles to 759 a hit and certain ones at 1500 and 2100 (also causing him to break down). Just watch out or respawning Captain and Vandal.

Also nice for taking out shields on Captains and Wizards if you have a friend to draw them out.

Long story short, give snipers a try!

Ah. It sounds like I'll be at the poverty line until endgame then since I'm not planning to PVP until I play the heck out of PVE. I wouldn't call myself great at PVP since I've been out of the shooter loop for years, but I held my own during the alpha/beta. (stayed above 2.0 k/d... for the most part; and I don't use vehicles/turrets)

I wish the game was a little bit friendly when you're playing solo. I got a bunch of folks on my list playing the game, but can't get into their fireteam. So I ended up soloing all the levels on Earth, except the strike. meh... Anyone still need fireteam buddies (for evening sessions)?

The social aspects of this game are pretty terrible and actually kind of surprising given that it's 2014.

Snipers are amazing, they do Rocket launcher damage on almost any boss, kill any non boss in 1 hit or 3 if they have shields, and have a ton of ammo. I can get crits consistently on bosses and it feels like the only way to do damage. I don't like Fusion rifles so much because you can't guarantee crits.

Sounds awesome. See that's the cool stuff. Good challenging strikes and eventually raids. Those are going to be what really keeps you playing.

And that was just my zombified attempt at briefly retelling the story. It was one of my best gaming moments. We were all on headsets communicating. It was so damn intense and rewarding. Got my money's worth day 1.

I love this game

I also think this game is simply Hyrule Warriors, where Star Wars = Zelda and Borderlands = Musou

felt like they ramped up the difficulty. It was a breeze in Beta but actually challenging in final game. I was glad.

Didn't they remove a boss from it? I was expecting to fight
that giant eyeball thing after the wizard like we did in the beta.
This is the last mission I played last night, so maybe they included that in a future mission.

Not everyone is going to like everything they play, I couldn't stand Halo. I remember getting to the giant scarab thing in Halo 3 and thinking this was some bullshit and turned it off forever. But a lot of people consider Halo 3 to be one of the best games ever.

Sometimes some games just dont click with you, its the same with me and the Zelda games.

Some info on what's to come. Nothing solid about when, but those two raids seem likely to be parts of each expansion. And there's items too.

You're misremembering. That wizard fight was in a different mission. When you fight the ball, you fought the giant spider before it. Those two bosses were and are still in the Earth strike mission. It's unchanged.

The game is pretty fun with a fire team. So far, my only complaint with the game is finding the right look sensitivity for the DS4. As someone that primarily played on the 360 last gen I'm having a hard time adjusting to a different controller. It's almost impossible for me to find a comfortable position and as a result my PvP performance suffers.

I have played a whole 1,900mAh eneloop batteries worth of Destiny. I am LV16 now and damn was Venus fun as shit. I keep saying it, but guys who are disappointed should wait until they reach that point.

Really. Huh... I guess drops have been crazy for me. Not seeing a lot of rare gear either.

But whatever. As long as I'm having fun I'm not griping.

Keep going. I was getting zero green engrams for a long time and then they started coming.

Plus, keep grinding away until you can do the higher level strike missions. We got awesome, awesome rare gear from those missions. I'm running all rare's except for my helmet, and that includes weapons :)

+ Sound design- find myself cranking my speakers. The sound design makes Destiny super immersive.
+ Art/graphics- The game is very pretty.
+ Performance- So far the bump to 1080 on XB1 hasn't had an affect on my framerate.
+ FPS mechanics- Shooting feels great.

- Shallow RPG mechanics- To be reductive, it feels like choose your own grenade and jump mechanic for the most part.
- Shallow story- Uh meh?
- MMO trappings- Personal opinion here. See below.

Had this game been single player, with an engaging story and deeper RPG mechanics, it would've been amazing. I really wish it would've been more single player with good co-op as opposed to the MMO-lite we got. While it's kind of fun (better than Borederlands at least), I feel it's ultimately a shallow experience and easily the most overhyped game of the year. Such a waste of potential.

I played last night until both my headset and controller died on me - full charge to start.

Agreed, having played the alpha and beta I decided to increase the difficulty for each mission and it was fine until the 4th earth mission, it was so hard. I died almost 20 times before finally beating it, lol. Safe to say that after that I've left the difficulty on normal.

people wanting a level cap increase don't even know why they want it

the game is a lot like DCUO where hitting the 'cap' is hitting the beginning.

Yep. I feel pretty psyched now that I can just wander, grind, and look for gear. The map Set Destination map feels cluttery now, though. Planets, stuff on the left, stuff on the bottom right, useless Reef etc.

I think I'll have to just pick a place and wander / grind, but hesitating as to where. Old Russia feels .... more elaborate, but I probably just haven't explored enough yet.

As dude above me said, PvP gets ya paid.

As soon as I hit 20, I did PvP for shits and giggles and to
see how the Stranger's Gun works..I need to level it and see how it does as an Auto Rifle Pulse Rifle
and I got two rare (blue) drops as rewards.

I have no idea how it decides what's possible to drop.

First moon mission was a lot of fun and took me a good twenty minutes.

Yeah if you take it easy and explore a bit, each mission can take awhile.

It's absurdly satisfying to headshot Cabal. I love the animations for them.

You prolly just remember it wrong.
The giant eyeball ist the second boss of the old russia strike mission.

Fighting Vex is ridiculously fun. Especially at higher levels.

Cabal? gawd yasssssssss

Thanks for giving me even more to look forward to!
