It looks like a bunch of people asked me questions in the thread, but it's hard for me to respond to all of the scattered posts. If you send me a PM, I'll respond to your question for sure.

I can see why people say "Gematsu was right because it got all of these characters right" but it's ridiculous to say that "Gematsu was right because it said this character would be in even though it hasn't been confirmed yet."
You can say "because Gematsu was right about so much, it can be safe to say that Chorus Kids will be in" but until we see Chorus Kids as playable characters, we can't use unconfirmed evidence as fact.

I didn't say "it can be safe to say that Chorus Kids will be in" I said it "has at least some basis in fact," i.e., it isn't just a bunch of lucky guesses. If the leaker had old info (which seems to be the case,) then ICs and Chorus Kids may have been on the table at one point but scrapped early in development. The Smash Run enemies would be that which remains of those cut characters. Thus, while the leaker ended up being wrong about their inclusion, he had real information which pointed to their inclusion.
 
I do not think that Sakurai would leave RH and IC enemies in if he couldn't include their characters.

Seems like something he'd consider rude.

Oh, I'm not saying it's a lucky guess.
I was just pointing out that the logic of "Chorus Kids was so out of the blue, it HAS to be true" was heavily flawed.
Had he said "Chorus Kids is backed up by a credible leaker and an enemy in Smash Run," that would've been fine.
 
I just noticed the background on the demo for the CSS is different than the one in the leak. This one is grey with a texture, the one in the leak is solid black, like the E3 demo was

I just realized something. If you add another column to the left or right, then that adds 6 more spaces. Snake + Mewtwo + Roy + Ice Climbers + Lucas + Wolf = 6. The other 5 spots could be filled with newcomers.

Edit: I'm not necessarily saying that they will be on the starting roster, but it does give these characters a place on the CSS if they become DLC.
 
Donkey Kong Jr.? Why would they pick such an outdated character when there are more relevant kongs to pick? Also I had to Google DK Jr. to see where he fits in the Kong family and holy shit what a mess. Rare said that DK in DKC is DK Jr grown up, however SSBB and DKCR says that the current DK is the original DK's grandson, and as such DK Jr. is DKC's DK's father. I don't even.

You don't need relevancy when you got history.
Just look at Duck Hunt Dog, Game & Watch, and ROB.
I prefer relevancy over history though
 
Man the wait is killing me. I am legitimately impressed that we haven't had any new leaks slipping out. Although I could see it coming out tomorrow. (Isn't there an avatar bet on this lol).

Side note, has the BOwser Jr. Neorice avatar been claimed... cause if not I would totally use it
(my wife and I follow Neorice on tumblr, we arent mooches I PROMISE)

Did anyone realized that the title screen of the leak is different from the demo? Generally the demo title screen is the same than the final game and I guess Smash Bros. isn't the exception.
 
I'm inclined not to believe this latest rumor, because Sakurai said we were nearing the "bottom of the barrel' where newcomer trailers are concerned. That being said, I'd actually love to have DK Jr. and Emolga. But yeah, not getting my hopes up. Really, I'm fine with 'em, fine without 'em.

In all honesty, the only one that would kind of annoy me would be Impa, because we don't really need Sheik in the first place in that case. Emolga would be hreat with multiple jumps.

And for what it's worth, I don't think clones get videos, like Dark Pit didn't really.
