I was looking through some older Word Documents, and found that I had saved my original prediction list separately from the one I kept updating. This is right after Toon Link had been revealed - I decided 49 slots would make a nice number to work with. If you include Mii Fighters as one, and add the leaked characters in without considering the possibility of more, I got that number exactly right.

I added a lot of filler characters in (IE characters I knew nothing about other than that they were Nintendo-owned), including Vivosaur Trainer, Ray 01, and Shulk. I also didn't know Mewtwo and Mega Mewtwo were not different (not a Pokemon fan), and kept it as Mega Mewtwo until a friend told me otherwise. I kept this updated with every Assist deconfirmation and Veteran reveal. I did swap out some characters here (due to Assist deconfirmation), adding in Palutena and Doshin the Giant (the latter being a joke character). In the end, I was right about Little Mac, Mii Fighters (as just Miis), Palutena, and Shulk, along with Bowser Jr. and Lucina (both of whom I had cut).

The problem is that the standard mii maker doesn't have blue hair color. Only games like tomodachi life let you dye your hair any color you want.

I still agree with Red Arremer/disagree with Pop-O-Matic, of course. While that old argument did help me see Pop's argument of A/B/X making a > shape on the GameCube controller, it never felt that way in my head - totally a < to me. Thank goodness Sakurai confirmed today that I can change it to what makes sense to me.

I think my favorite part of this comic is the detail of the handwriting. Ike's handwriting feels very Ike-y, and Marth's feels very Marth-y.
