I've roamed Earth, The Moon, and now Venus extensively and I haven't seen one public event.

Ive seen one public event so far, that's all.
And I was alone. No other players. I almost managed it anyway but that was bullshit.

Plenty of two person parties wandering around right afterward though, but all of their rosters default to private every time the game starts so all I can do is dance around like an idiot. Since I have no way of speaking to them.

So! Just finished the moon strike for the first time. Not as tough as people were saying it was, though admittedly I also didn't get the kind of loot people have been bragging about ;P

Gah, I really need a nice pulse rifle. Hand Cannons are cool, don't get me wrong, but I miss the pulse rifle I had before.

Dude, I did like 3 or 4 of them in the beta and I didn't even play the beta as long as I've played the full game now. They definitely dropped the frequency of them. Almost impossible to find one.

I got one from a blue engram that I received in multiplayer around level 14 or so. It's mostly just luck in getting them but keep an eye on the vendors as well, you might be able to snag one at some point, especially if the cryptarch is selling primary weapon engrams.

Level 12, and I just ran into my first, in Old Russia. A satellite was on the ground I'd never seen (or noticed?) before, turned out it was a defend event. Just a few reavers, with me and a level 13 nearby we helped out a little level 6 and made short work of them.

For all its issues I am enjoying Destiny.

And at the end of the day, for a new IP it is quite impressive.

If they take this foundation and truly fix and expand, future Destiny games could be great.

Nope, read the thread we have on it. Times is misinformed apparently. It shipped 500 million worth of copies, to retailers. This does not mean the same thing as sold. If it was sold they would have explicitly said so. If retailers order a billion dollars worth of inventory from me it doesn't mean it was sold.
 
I know this is obvious, but Strikes are WAYYYY easier with good team mates. The bosses are still boring bullet sponges for the most part, though.
 
So is the general consensus that most people are playing this on Playstation 4?

I got it on 360 because that's where my friends are but to be honest if this game keeps my interest I might make the jump to the newest gen and pick up the PS4 bundle.
 
Ultimately, it sounds like destiny is worth playing. Im going to wait a bit before i pick it up, perhaps for that first expansion, or after a few updates. I burned out pretty hard on the beta. i dont feel like im really missing out right now by not playing it.

Gonna check out diablo3, metro and wolfenstein in the meantime.

It feels like the automatic weapons and the instakill laser are pretty good in crucible. My pistol/sniper setup has sucked so far.
 
Totally forgotten how fun this game was since Beta. Its been really fun playing with friends. Now I know to avoid Devil's Lair been having a blast. I was on the fence about this game bigtime but so glad I took the plunge. This game has went from a 7 to at least a solid 8.

is that the one for killing all three classes without dying in pvp? My friend got it earlier. I then proceeded to go on a 10 kill streak and didnt get it. idk if i met the requirements though
 
This is game is awesome playing with your friends. I could never play it alone, though.

Coming from a hardcore FPS fan, the Crucible is just terrible unbalanced crap though all around.

Man, I wish I hadn't played the beta. I got so burned out on earth content that playing through it again was a total chore. Ended up doing one moon mission and turning it off.

Maybe I need to play with others.

how is it supposed to be balanced? the game is inherently based around the differences between players. i'd agree that lvl 5s shouldn't be matching lvl 18s, but any other major change would undermine the entire thing, and at that point they may as well redo the game from the ground up
 
I wonder if Bungie is able to tweak player crossover and public event frequency on the back end.
 
It's not just a killstreak. Triple play is for very rapidly killing dudes. Got it a few times with both the Golden Gun and Bladedancer specials.
 
my friends and I just cannot get loot in this game. I am lvl 24 and the coolest thing I have gotten are 2 purple chest plates. All of our guns are complete trash. Tried the lvl 22 strike to get better loot and we got completely destroyed
