Yeah, this is one of the downsides to no trading.

Honestly, what's up with Destiny's social features? They're basically nonexistent. I get wanting to protect your player base from assholes and scammers, but they're also crippling the community building tools that are supposed to be at the heart of any social game.

lol don't get me started about the Clan system, where is it

Man, I think I've barely put an hour into Destiny since launch. Just too damn busy. Hopefully I'll get some time this weekend.

Not out yet, but if the Heroic Weekly is any indication of how tough it will be, well then fuck.

Can't wait lol

I'm pretty sure they'll dramatically decrease the difficulty as it happened in Diablo 3. If they want to make raiding interesting they have to do something other than bullet sponge bosses which one hit you, but to do that you need UI tools like marking targets etc.

I think I'm starting to regret going Warlock, their grenades and melee attack are really PvE oriented, I should have went Titan.

Although I am only level 13, does it get better?

Just setup a second character for PVP. It takes about 13 minutes to run through the very first mission then you're set. I personally haven't had any difficulty playing as a warlock in PVP.

eventually I'm planning on having 1 build for PVE, 1 for Raiding and 1 for PVP.

Hoo boy, I'm having a tough time slogging through Old Russia again.

Not really feeling it (same as with the Beta), but I'm going to stick it out to see some other areas before putting it away.

Overall it just feels very bland. It's a beautiful game made by talented people but I'm having a hard time getting into it.

To be honest the full game is a little bland until your level reach double figures. Then you can return to Old Russia and kill some of those ???? enemies that taunted us during the beta.

Warlock aoe dot damage is the best in pvp.

Warlock melee also has more range than other class.

I haven't seen a single thing about the exotic weapons, I have a bunch of friend playing and they haven't found anything too. Do they need to be crafted or do some specific missions to be found?

Man, going from level 11 to level 12 mid-mission increased my effectiveness by an insane amount. I was trying the last section of the final moon mission over and over again on Hard
where you have to kill the Siphon Witches and then 3 waves of Hive with an Ogre at the end
. Things were really hard and then I hit level 12 which gives you the "all stats better" perk and let me equip a rare rocket launcher. I preceded to absolutely wreck the encounter with no trouble at all. It mostly wasn't the launcher though, because I only usd that on the final guy.

Do enemies have damage resistance if you're lower level than them or something? Because my damage seemed waaaaay higher as soon as I hit 12, which matched the enemies, but I didn't really switch to a better weapons or anything.

I like it that they did it this way. Sure, it may have balancing issues but this should drive you to level up, become a better character, collect better weapons. The collecting stuff is a big part of Destiny and it's nice that the PvP has a connection with it. I wouldn't feel rewarded if my weapons meant nothing out of the campaign. There would be no point to it imo. PvP is giving me a reason to go back and finish up.

I can't agree with this. That sort of reward in PvP is what the Iron Banner was for I thought. In standard PvP it should be doing a better job matchmaking for balance. We shouldn't see people with subclasses playing with noobs. I know the game wasn't Halo level of balance, but I thought it would be better than this.

Hopefully Bungie will see some sense in releasing a balanced playlist. Why not have an area for people on equal footing ability-wise? What I mean is everyone with double jump, supers, ways to counter supers (I think I read this is there, but honestly I haven't jumped into PvP on retail yet), and standard weapons. I'd even love it a step further - starting weapons and then weapon drops on the map for a more map control type of game (ala Halo).

Also, definitive proof as to why Warlocks are better than Hunters; we taught them how to use Blink.

Based on the info and interviews from bungie about the game i thought this game would have a lot more "innovation". Right now it just feels like a watered down mmo with (really great) FPS gameplay... Anyone else feel the same way?

Yeah, that's totally what it is and I love it. It's Phantasy Star Online as told by Bungie, but with shittier chat options.

Got my first armour with light, and it was for the warlock class. Thanks so much game. Fuck.

Edit: Yay the engrams were light and for my Titan.

Now what exactly am I doing? I keep equipping armour to level up? I'm really confused. Do I level up as the armour does?

This Is My Story.

Crucible, Titan, that one Mars map in the totally awesome black and red barracks or whatever. Our team, I'll be honest, we're not in a good posish. Alpha's got the nodes, they've got the power. It's not great.

It's like 12,000 to 9,000.

They're all coming out of B, like 4 strong, and I get on that hanging thing, and I am super charged. And I just….

LACE…

into these bros. SKABOOOOOOOSH™.

One dude left, shotty to the face.

Blink on the left bottom of the screen.

Blink.
Blink.

All of sudden it's 6 on 3. Bye bye fellas.

We win the match.

I hit Level 11.

Get a sick Level 12 gauntlet as Crucible Loot.

This is by far the most fun game I have ever played in my life.

So far my biggest complaint is the bosses and how awful they are. They could be totally epic if they were retuned properly (i.e. less health)...

I don't know that I expected innovation, but watered down is definitely a great way to describe it. Like I've said, I feel the game completely missed its mark.

Can someone confirmed there is a third sub class? I'm playing a warlock and I'm finding the second subclass really naff compared to the first. Is the second subclass more powerful than the first or is it just different?

I do feel like a solid amount of the bosses are things that you know you can beat within the first minute or so and the rest is just slowly grinding down their crazy amount of health.

They're a little boring, considering every boss fight is "shoot the thing in the weak point and dodge its telegraphed nukes. Oh and watch out for the mobs that come every so often"

Hope they spice it up a little in future content.

The Raid boss fight is gonna be such a grind, going by the bullet sponge boss fights they kept up with here. 5+ minutes of dodging their 1-2 attacks that insta-kill you, using supers every now and again, picking off enemy waves for ammo, rinse and repeat forever

Yeah. The only moment I felt I actually had to figure something out thus far was during the Moon strike, where
the weak point was on the chest instead of the head like a normal ogre.
But even that was pretty freaking minor. I do find it funny that arguably the most complex strike boss I've seen is the Spider Tank from Devil's Lair, since at least that's got an order you have to attack it in.

Haven't played either of the Venus strikes yet, though.

So if I want Vanguard equipment I need to level my vanguard rep, though if I have my dead orbit class item I have on I can only earn rep through them and not vanguard at the same time?

I'm a little confused.

Enjoying the game, it looks gorgeous.

But is the entire game basically without story/cutscenes?

I am a few story missions into the Moon and there hasnt been any story/cutscenes beyond the first video that plays when you start the game, and the brief cutscene after the first real mission.

Do you ever get story/cutscenes later on? I expected it to be light on stories but it seems extreme to me.

I noticed someone demonstrating how their installed DLC is supposed to look for the PS4 version (I'd like the post but I saw it yesterday so it's quite a few pages buried), and it showed all of the DLC that came with my purchase (Sparrow, Collector's edition content, Vanguard Armory, Season Pass), but this poster also had something called "Shader Download" or something like that (something that had "Shader" in the name I believe).

Did I forget to put a code in somewhere for this bonus shader thing? I bought the Ghost Edition and preordered from Gamestop, so I was under the impression that I had all of the bonus crap one could get from day 1.

There are cutscenes sprinkled throughout, but why does a game need cutscenes to tell a story? I personally prefer when the story is told through the environments/enemies/lore that surrounds the context of your missions. But yes, the "story" is definitely not the main focus it would seem (I haven't beaten the story yet but it seems that way so far).

nope. its chat.

i understand people love lore, but at the end of the day, this is a video game. im not coming here for story, im coming here for gameplay.

without a chat system, this game is seriously holding itself back from being great.

Diablo III is a heavily loot driven game. Hell, some may consider it THE loot driven game but at least they put in plenty of hooks and cutscenes for story. The lore and story is all present in the game for you to enjoy, and I'm sure some people do.

Destiny is just screaming to have a better story driven experience. I expected Bungie to deliver a loot based game that could be coupled with a great story that I'd actually be interested in. That just doesn't seem to be there.

Still enjoying the game for what it is but I wouldn't dismiss the lack of story just because the game is loot based. You can have both.

The last boss of the Moon strike is probably the worst thing I've done yet in the game. Pure tedium.

Seriously, my team and I just stayed in the entry way and shot from there. It was the best day to deal with the endlessly spawning knights and wizards. Terrible fight.

Having just finished a couple of hours ago, I'm really surprised at how underwhelming the story ended up being. I couldn't even tell that the last story mission was supposed to be the end. It feels like nothing happened at all in the whole game.

So the ports are open (I think) and I'm still getting centipede errors. Fuck's sake, I wait two days for my game to be delivered and now I can't even get it to work.
