one mission left on the moon and I have to say that area has no sense of place. I dont feel like I know the landscape at all, feels very claustrophobic. on Earth you can look off in the distance and see places you want to go. I just followed the waypoints. hopefully venus will be better about that. a little more open I hope

Venus isn't the most open but it is gorgeous visually.

My friends and I all went "wow" on Skype the second we landed.

First experience with a PS4 and I have to say Destiny looks bloody stunning.

Only level 4 at the moment (been messing about with some other demos too) but enjoying it so far. Not really sure how the best way to play co-operatively is yet, but I did briefly play with someone in a fire team and that was fun.

Quick question for those on PS4 - I put in the Destiny disc and my console makes a fairly loud noise (kind of like a whirring I guess). I thought my console might be defective but then the noise disappears by the time I'm in game/after a brief while.

Is this normal?

Outside of the strike which is hard at first but enjoyable because of it, The Moon is ass. Easily my least favorite everything in the game. I have no desire to ever go back there. Venus is damn awesome tho. You'll love it guranteed.

Just spent an hour and a half in a random level 22 strike (Mars). In hindsight we have been under geared, but the bosses ****ing piss me off. Stand there folding RT, adds spawn, kill, go back to it.

This one had three small bosses (each taking forever to even kill the shields), and adds just kept spawning. Over an hour.

Not even a boss like Patchwerk in WoW was as boring as these. We all just quit after the wipe

Patchwerk lasted like 5 minutes at most, and that's if your DPS absolutely sucked.

I've been having the most fun in the Crucible, too. Only got one mission into the moon so far. Most of my time has been eaten up in PvP.

Yup same here bro. Singleplayer is a dud.

I'm still excited to new missions in the expansions but I doubt I'll play them more than a couple times.

I see myself playing this pvp for a loooong time.

Yep...although I still enjoy co-op with friends. I honestly expected this; I wasn't too into Halo campaign either.
I loved the halo campaigns. Much more co-op focused fun than Destiny imo.

Did you not die the entire match or do you just have to kill those three before you die?

I believe it's just having to kill all 3 classes in 1 PVP life. You can die after and still get the trophy. Just save your super until a group are capturing a zone and whammy! get 3 or 4 kills. If you're lucky the trophy will pop.

That moment you drop a shield on a control point just as an enemy warlock is about to nova bomb your team...priceless.

Blast Shield muthafucka!

Now that it's been 2 days, what do you folks think of the game so far?

I think I like it more now that I'm level 19. I'll ding 20 during lunch break :)

By "singleplayer" you mean that mode where you run around with 2 of your friends and kill enemies while exploring tunnels on the moon that take you 40min to completely explore and then you still didn't go down that one route oh man how far does this go?

Right?

Game is awesome. Loving the co-op experience in PvE, loved the hour of PvP I did today.
Can't wait for the game to open up even more stuff to me and Bungie to put in more content.

I am lvl 15 and have just arrived on Venus. Still haven't seen all of the Moon or Russia.

I have kind of a dilemma...

My coworker/friend can only play for about 2hrs after 9pm since he has a baby/toddler and life responsibilities. I don't have those responsibilities and want to play an hour more.

If I were to level up my character by playing Crucible matches, and continue with one of the early Story missions with him when he logs on, and I'm level 10 and he's level 5, would I be doing more damage to the mobs if we're using the same weapon (hand cannon)?

He was a little discouraged yesterday by the end mission scoreboard even though we were all around the same level (5). He does not have a hand cannon yet, while my brother and I did... we wrecked havoc, and I know he was shooting at them with his rifle as well, but I think we stole all his kills with our hand cannon headshots. We ended up getting 30+ kills while he only had 10. When we all had our starting rifle we would get around the same amount of kills as us.

I just want this to be fun/fair experience for my fireteam.

Still, haha.

Naxx 40-man was the stuff of hell.

Yes, not the fondest memories, especially on some of the earlier bosses.

The complaints about strikes being boring is reminiscent for me of "Molten Bore" or "Molten Snore" at 60. New game, same "issues". Tank and spanks are an essential part of RPGs :)

Right?

You mean all those empty tunnels in the moon that me and 2 friends fully explored during the beta?

Leveled to 9 in about 4.5 hours of playtime. Did all the beta story missions last night, then spent the rest of my time doing bounties and farming glimmer in Old Russia.

I LIKE the exploration part of the game.

I jumped into weremichael's fireteam last night to re-run Last Array right after I did it on hard mode with an underleveled random who jumped into my fireteam. Much easier with three people. :-) He sent me a group chat invite, but I missed it until I'd decided to go do some farming.

No PvP or Strikes yet. Probably tonight. Have gotten 2 green engrams so far. Had several green armor pcs roll for loot drops though. Had about 2k in glimmer, but I bought a half length cape from the cryptarch. Don't remember what I have now.

Maybe you can set up a second character/build that you keep close to his level. Use your main for playing on your own or with other friends.

For you, they are empty, for us we found cool stuff to look at around every corner.

Also, lol at exploring all the content during a beta. Not really the best idea if you want to still have content for release XD

Ugh I wanna do the vanguard strike playlist but I need to do the devils lair strike.

And I don't really wanna spoil myself on the Venus and Mars strikes....

Sounds like you and your bro should have separate characters when playing with this friend.

The damage you do for story and all PVE is determined by the stat on the weapon. It would not matter in Crucible (unless it says so, like in Iron Banner) since all gear is normalized
