Bungie needs to make a lot of improvements to the match making, takes way too long to initiate a match, also improve the UI a bit for multiplayer.
Look at your ability tree. That bubble shield spawn shields on anyone that moves through it. It allows for faster reloads and increased damage for the party. It spawns orbs of light when it receives damage and when the titan uses his heavy weapon he spawns orbs of light.
I was pubbing a mars strike and saved my group twice with the bubble shield. Once leveled up its awesome. When it's new yes it sucks nuts.
Protip: to level up defender without grinding it swap into defender when you turn in bounties. All the Xp will go to your defender job. Then when it's strong enough take it into pve.
Thanks for this. I'll keep levelling to prepare for the raids. I do love my character but she's certainly going to come in Hunter and Warlock soon.Ward of Dawn doesn't seem meant to replace environmental cover.
Early in Defender progression, your main uses for it are going to be forcing resurrections in places you otherwise would have to wait on someone's respawn, or blocking a fire line on an existing cover's flank so you don't have to give up a position for a wave of boss fight adds. It lasts long enough to allow you (or a teammate) to take some very advantageous positions during boss fights without much risk, like the top level overhangs in Cerberus Vae III.
Subclass progression will make a big difference though, because you'll start to be able to use Ward of Dawn to buff players (preferably with bonus damage for PvE) and then later also feed them super meter in the same duration. Around that point you'll probably be changing your typical WoD positioning for the most clear place everyone in the fireteam can access without fucking up anyone's firing lines, and using it for a rez or something will generally be a waste (though you will still want it in a position where you can force consistent enemy fire onto it to generate orbs for your team).
A fully buffed WoD will give your team a spherical point of cover they can walk through instead of around, that buffs their damage and spits out orbs of light for the entire duration. You'll wind up supplying much more damage to the encounter than a regular super because your teammates will likely generate +1 Super of their own (possibly more depending on how many orbs it allows it to spit out), and on top of that you have a significant period of buffed gun damage. You could technically generate even more orbs during add waves through Gift of Light and Iron Harvest, but I'd probably rather have War Machine and Illuminated in those slots for PvE.
I didn't see your post before I last posted thanks. This part makes me glad I enjoy doing patrols, although unless you are doing a bounty at the same time the rewards for those random missions are pretty disappointing. The game in general is pretty flawed, but still fun as hell. You can switch abilities in your defender tree freely as you want. You can also switch to Striker whenever. You have to acquire XP to unlock all of their talents.
So... Who is doing OT3?

Which one?
Idk, but it should be called "Loot? Never heard of it" : )
Last boss of the moon strike is suck a clusterfuck. most of the time I have done it the other 2 people in my group just try to stay in the doorway and there ends up being like a million adds that are just waiting there for them to come out.
Had to make this a gif. I call it the Brahma Bull Charge. I still don't know how I was able to hit the guy.

Hey gaf. I haven't picked up the game yet and I was wondering how the clan system is implemented in game? It was pretty useless in the beta.

I just love the way the Titan Defender's body just flies away. His posture basically said "The fuck just happened?"Shoulder Charge + shotgun + agility boost from stats = a beastly Titan in PVP
It's pretty useless here as well. Like I mentioned above, Bungie needs to make a bunch of improvements for PVP to make it more intuitive.
Once you go hand cannon in PvE, you don't go back.
this may have been mentioned but how do you remove the hud? I try the quick option/share but rarely works.Soon...

Consensus on Titan Defender in Control. Worth it to get to cap with the shield? Or should I just abandon this fella and start shoulder charging to victory?
