Well from what I heard PvP dishes out some pretty good gear. Strikes are also another way to get some really good gear. What type of gear do you mostly have now?

Some really, really basic shit mostly lol. At least my chest and leg armor are green.

This is something the game does well, at the endgame, high level stuff you can choose to focus on pvp. Join a faction of your liking (look at their gear and stuff) and you can just grind in pvp and get sweet shit.

Alright, sounds good! How do I join a faction?

Not sure if it's because I am in the neogaf destiny group but I keep getting level 30 in the patrol levels just running around killing everything.

It makes it very hard to do the Collection missions.

autoquote. Anyone ?

I don't quite understand what you are asking here but, no weapons are class specific. Every class can use all weapons. From my experience you get a choice of five weapons and a class specific helmet. Also I wouldn't worry about it too much. In the grand scheme of things I didn't use the vanguard stuff for very long. Got stronger and better stuff pretty soon after.

Also is anyone else a bit dissapointed with the sunsinger subclass? It's buffs aren't great and the teams ones are pretty crap too I feel. In comparison the Titan provides something actually useful team wise.

It CAN dish out some decent gear but it doesn't reward good performances. I just finished a game of Clash where I was by far the best performing player on my team. The game gave out 3 pieces of loot, one of which was to the worst player, and I got nothing.

This game sure does love giving me rare sniper rifles. Hows about a nice rare AR for once?

How do I get screen shots and videos off of the PS4? Do I really just have to plug a USB device into it and transfer, or is there some less archaic way? Kind've expected there to be a folder my online SEN profile with this stuff in.

At level 20 you can buy a class item from one of the three faction vendors for 2500 glimmer. Equipping it will convert any Vanguard or Crucible reputation you earn into faction reputation instead. You can freely switch between them.

What does "class armor" do (the last section in the bottom right of the inventory)?

There is zero explanation of what it is... however, I have a "blue" level currently equipped...

I see thr 3 factions, my question is if I wear their bond, do I get to use thr crucible marks for the Vanguard stuff too? Or I have to pick

Basically you can choose to join one of the 3 factions by buying a cloak, mark or bond from them then then equipping it and completing crucible bounties which earns you reputation with your respective faction and eventually access to their stuff.

Alternatively you can just choose not to join and complete standard bounties (gray ones) in PVE/Strikes for normal vanguard reputation and eventually access to the vanguard weapons and armor.

So it's really just a case of which mode you'd like to bash. Are you more into PVP or PVE? If it's PVP then join a faction if not then don't do it yet and play PVE.

What level are you? You're going to need much better gear than that later on. I've been running mostly strikes and story missions and I've got all blue (with light) and one purple.

It's just flair up until you start joining factions. The factions ones explain that, if you wear it, your repuation points you earn will be converted to rep for your faction.

Guys I never leveled my warlock sub class. Im now a 21, almost 22 is it worth it too level that sub class? And how would it work xp wise? Since xp goes away after level 20.

Class items are just aesthetic, other than the Faction ones that have the added feature of converting all earned reputation into rep for their faction.

You need to be level 20 I think? And then you find them in the tower. New Monarchy is kinda near the Speaker, the other two are in the area where the shipwright is. Choose your faction by buying one of the class items (capes and shit). By wearing that you represent that faction in the crucible. Crucible matches will then give you faction rank, faction points (I think?) and crucible rank and points which you can use to buy stuff from the crucible and faction vendors

The worst part IMO is how there's only one PvE faction, and the gear doesn't really help Warlocks who want more grenades and nova bombs.

Is there a chance to get a Mote of Light if you dismantle a rare item?

You can immediately upload to twitter / facebook

pretty soon they will be putting in the ability to immediately upload videos to youtube thank god. not like it is hard to copy to USB, then transfer to comp then upload to youtube. But the less steps the better

So GAF, what do you prefer the PvE or PvP?

PvE by far.

Had some extra time before work and tried to fit in Destiny playtime but apparently there is an "internet outage" here..and just remembered literally everything bout the game is online only....nice

I'd like to clog up my friends list with Destiny people - I already have quite a few, but the more the merrier:

PSN is sploatee

Is there a spreadsheet somewhere with people's PSN names?

Quick question:

I've been leveling up Bladedancer but now my special is the one that damages enemies in an area around me, I no longer do that kind of dash sword strike.

Is there any way to go back to the original one?

edit: nevermind, i'm dumb lol If I press L1 it's the normal attack instead

You still earn XP even though you are 20. If you want a quick way to level up a second subclass, right before the last boss is about to die in a strike mission, for example, equip the second subclass and it gets all of the XP. Same thing goes for turning in bounties. Right before you hand in the bounty in the tower have the 2nd subclass equipped and it'll get the XP bonus.

I too am a Warlock and didn't know this trick until I was already level 24. I'm leveling up Sunsinger now even though I will still primarily use Void.

What seems to be the consensus on buying weapons & armor in shops? I always tend not to do that in loot games as I feel like a) you spend money on something only to replace it 10 minutes later b) its usually overpriced junk.

R1 for sword, R2 for the special attack you have equipped

I was really keen on joining Dead Orbit and have been since the alpha. Now though I think I'll be stuck with the vanguard stuff as I can't really see myself completing the PVP bounties that easily as I'm a bit shit at it.

At least it's took the decision out of my hands though. I do wish they'd just make reputation universal though and not tie it to a particular group.

Melee attack button does the default single target attack.

You can still do the slash by using the melee button, you don't have to switch back.

PvP by a country mile. But Bladedancer is seriously OP as fuck. Honestly, I can't believe it passed QA like that.

After getting multiple really easy 3 or 4 person multikills last night I was pretty shocked by it. I thought that Warlocks having an instant use rocket and Titans having an instant use grav hammer was kind of busted, but a 10 second better energy sword with an AOE probably takes the cake.

Overpriced junk if you buy it with glimmer. Currencies other than that such as crucible points etc can buy you some nice gear though, but you need to increase the rank with that vendor to be able to buy from him first.

FYI, don't bother upgrading your armor after 20 using the plasteel plates (i.e. when one piece of armor has an upgrade added to it) b/c you'll just be replacing that piece as soon as you get a better one with more light. Such a waste of those plates. Unless of course you're content with that particular piece of armor.

Better armor with more Light is few and far between. It is still beneficial to upgrade. Plus, upgrading increases the level of light in the armor.

Yeah, I've played nearly 40 hours, and only seen 1 public event.

Game is always online why?

I think they are messing with the frequency on it still. I saw two of them just this morning in the hour I was playing. One on Earth patrol and the other on the Moon.

I thought you just had to be wearing a factions armor piece to then be able to gain marks for that faction during heroic Strikes and such. Stuff that would usually give Vanguard marks
