Can someone explain to me how to get the playstation exclusive content? I am trying to get the armor set and guns but can not find them. Thanks!

It would be nice to have some bosses that maybe make areas of the room uninhabitable. There was plenty they could've done for bosses other than just the typical FPS shoot till they die. Fingers crossed.

EDIT: Or a fucking lazer beam that sweeps out at jump height. Something.

You would think they would hire someone who knows how to!

I can't even really think of many FPS bosses that have been interesting. But Bungie avoided them for every single Halo game afterwards.

When your mechanics are "jump around" and "apply damage via gun", yeah, you don't have many sub mechanics to make things interesting. Regular MMOs like WoW and such have buff/debuff mechanics, aggro/tanking, whole bunch of stats you can manipulate or apply during a boss fight.

Shooters, all you have is "make them take longer to die".

In theory, you COULD make a boss phase only vulnerable to supers, but unless Destiny gains more RPG like mechanics they should try to make boss fights use more of the level / "you vs the world" ala the trench run of halo 1 / 3 and the holdout phase of Reach than shoots a lot.

Looking forward to playing this on my PS4 again later this month. It's funny seeing you and a bunch of other people online in Destiny but since I'm on PS3, none are joinable :v

Fucking got!

Augh. I want it so bad.

Anywhere you can grind for Strange Coins?

90% of the time I get a blue engram and decrypt it, it's a Strange Coin. Earlier, I decrypted a Legendary Engram and got 2 Strange Coins. Your mileage may vary. Oh, and they are also Crucible rewards. I got 2-3 of them last night playing Crucible. I'm up to 8 Strange Coins now. Just a few more and I can get that Exotic Hunter Helmet.

Here's my warlock. Who actually finally got a bond you can kinda sorta see thanks to the light.

And maybe one day I will actually get a legendary or exotic, but for now this 11 shot handcannon is kinda lol.

What's the best faction to grind rep for? Vanguard, Crucible, or one of the other 3? Got 100 crucible marks and 25 vanguard.

I would go and get 100 vanguard marks to reach the cap for this week, then when do both mark grinding again next week you'll probably level up both crucible and vanguard rep enough to actually spend those marks.

I can name a few mechanics for the strike bosses off the top of my head, honestly. It's not that weird. They just... didn't implement any of them.

The closest thing I can think of for mechanics are the end bosses of the Dust Palace strike. They take extra damage from their opposing elements.

I know that I moan a lot about this game but I really want it to do well, I hope more changes happen for balances soon, and that they make first light a better map overall

I'd consider scarabs boss fights and those were a lot of fun.

Bungie does not know how to design boss fights.

Bungie doesn't know how to design MMO style content. The patrol missions are dreadful. I had a patrol mission on Venus tell me to kill enemies because they were building up to take over "this location", and just ran to the other side of the map and was getting credit for killing Fallen and Vex.

And the entire "We need you to do something, your Ghost will fill you in on the details" wrappings is so fucking lazy. Destiny is decent enough for me to play until I finish the main story, but its just making me want to play Borderlands instead and I didn't think those games were that great either.

Fallen and Hive are the most fun enemies to fight imo. Cabal are okay too, Vex are just boring.

really? the Vex are the most interesting to me. Their movements and behavior is intimidating, and the teleporting keeps me on my toes. Their sound design and architecture is great too. Hive are good when they're numerous and aggressive. Cabal are slow and dumb without the perks the Vex have, and the Fallen basically just stand still. They're like the Covenant on easy mode.

I've got one "Cryptic and Ineffable" Rare lvl 19 it's half blue, half green glowy. It's the best one I've got so far. Warlocks need much better looking thingies. Titans have pretty cool skirt/towel things and Hunters have capes and cloaks. All warlocks get is, at best, a glowy wristband.

I can see it being fair because it could snowball with the best players just always getting the best gear, but man it sure feels bad to get a 5.0 KDR in Rumble and the guy with 1k/7d ends up with the legendary. This actually happened to me tonight. :-(
Yeah I understand that point. And I know that feel exactly. What I think would work is that if you're in the top 3 you should absolutely be locked into getting at least 1 item, and then RNG does its work from there. Let's say you have a higher chance of getting a blue item if you're first place and maybe a small chance of legendary or exotic. For anyone below top 3 whether or not you get an item would be purely luck like it is now, but it seems luck is always in their favor anyway when it comes to that.

I don't even mind getting greens if I'm in first place as long as I get something, ya know?

Even though it doesn't count as a shooter technically and had lock on features, I think Bungie could take a look at the Metroid Prime series for boss inspiration. All three games. Huge intimidating creatures for the most part. Complete with several phases and patterns that were fun to figure out. Yeah, Samus gets special abilities, but I think there's something to be learned there.

Also, I think Bungie should take a look at enjoyable MMO bosses. Just because we are playing a FPS doesn't mean we aren't able to not stand in fire.

There's so much room for creativity here and I think Bungie either has bitten off more than they can chew or are saving the good stuff for later.

RNG is just unforgiving if you're first place. I've had every other person in the match get items except me. What is that about?
Played a couple games at lunch and a guy with almost no points, 2 kills and a .15 k/d got a legendary primary weapon. I was near the top....got nothing. I get that they don't want a situation where poor players get nothing ever, but this is kind of silly.

Sorry I missed those gaffers who wanted to play! Life got in the way. Anyone wanna do the story on Venus for the first time? Just add me Psn is same as user id. No need to pm as I'll probably miss it!

it's not difficult.

make the boss require something in the arena to take him down. make the arena shift and change as the battle goes on. give the boss more attacks than just "stand still and shoot really powerful lasers". Change up the formula and put the boss on the offensive while we try to defend something.

As it is now, they're all the same. Big guy in an arena with a large healthbar, and he's only difficult because of the adds, which only exist to give you ammo.

Destiny's bosses are archaic.

I know raids wont have any matchmaking and i'm sort of fine with that for now, but it seems the daily and weekly heroic missions don't have it either, whats the point in that?

Bungie have made an amazing game, but some of their design decisions are just stupid.

Nope this is fine. You won't be able to beat these unless you coordination.

Still boils down to "apply damage to damage sponge".

And easily gameable once you figured out all you had to do was fly right at the right-side platform and just kill them in 10 seconds. The first Halo 3 battle was neat, the last one we fought in ODST was a joke.

Hunter only upgrade mats. You get them by dis-assembling (or whatever it's called) hunter gear.

i've been dismantling a bunch of armor but still not getting any. is it only certain levels of armor?

trying to upgrade my helmet but i need 10 sapphire wire grrrrrr

Had a really weird glitch where my ship and ghost wouldn't appear but I could obviously still use them. For some reason my special edition content was locked out but when i turned off the game it became fine.

I can't get over how pretentious and terrible the story is

Like what in the world happened
It takes itself so seriously despite there being nothing to take serious. There's no substance or incentive to keep going through the story. And no characters worth giving a shit about. It's a shame because I really love the premise of humanity having a golden age in the stars but having it taken away from and pushed back to the brink. That sounds awesome. What did we get, though? Fly around listening to Tyrion Lannister tell you things that don't matter to you in any way. I struggle to even call the story bad because I just don't even regard what Destiny has as a story. I don't think I would even care about it if it wasn't for the fact that Bungie themselves kept saying they had a proper story to this game that they were keeping under wraps. Well, where is it Bungie? Cause it's not in this game.

I fucking love everything else about this game, though. Some of the most fun I've had in years when it comes to the gameplay.

Yeah, that's what I was saying with the "you vs the world" part. Use movement through a level or the level changing as the challenge

a boss arena that moves similar to the burning shrine's moving walls would be great.

that's why i don't understand the comments about PvP being an afterthought. It feels like more time was spent on the PvP than the rest of the game because it has those creative elements lacking from all of the PvE encounters.
