this is kinda funny. played Salvage, everyone on the other team either quit or got dropped. and I got a Legendary item for basically showing up, gotta love it.

They should rewards players that don't quit with something when the whole team quits. But that would probably get abused.

Perfect solution.
hahah, that's not a solution so much as a massive buff...
It's pretty BS to have a Legendary Engram drop and potentially get an Uncommon or a Rare, like seriously. v_v
...that is definitely bullshit though. Wonder what the motivation is behind unided color =/ ided color anyway
Well gee whizz Bungie, you think maybe people'd understand that if you oh I dunno indicated that in the game anywhere?
To each their own, I am glad they didn't spell this out.

Hiding critical mechanics?

What?

Hiding critical mechanics?

What?

Hidden? lol

taking a blue thingied weapon and hitting an enemy with a blue shield makes an immediate and noticeable reaction

not everything needs to be laid out barney style

hate it when my sniper reticle jumps all over the place under fire despite the weapon having high "stability". the calcutta i got from the first loot cache in the game is still the best pvp sniper i've come across. if only its rate of fire was higher.

If I remember correctly, you are colorblind, so I totally understand this sort of thing pissing you off by not being spelled out. I have no response to that, totally blows and I have no clue how you would have been expected to figure it out.

to be figured out by the players... and it's not even close to "hidden." it's also not needed for "casual" play. It's extremely straightforward and "critical mechanics" for boss fights throughout history aren't TOLD to you outright, you figure them out. When I first heard what elemental damage did I went to try it out, and I thought there was a rock-paper-scissors thing going on. Arc (Blue) beats Fire (Red) or whatever. but it's even simpler than that.

*shrug* We might be looking at the game differently, I can appreciate you wanting them to include it in the tutorial or whatever.

Thanks for the answers. I'll keep going solo. My plan is to do the story missions straight through, playing them when I'm at the recommended level or so.

lol wut. The game doesn't even illustrate that elemental damage is more effective against certain shields except that a tiny, moving number is higher than it might be. The game basically discourages the kind of experimentation it would take to realize this anyway.

That happen to me on a mercury map I never did before, Was it like that for you?

might've been mars actually. i like Salvage btw. of course if you have a good teammates its great. i played a game where both my teammates rage quit or d/c. 3 v 1 is not funny btw. can Bungie somehow fix that?

Yeah, its true, and yeah, it blows, and yeah, when I read it spelled out as "use the blue thing against the guys glowing blue" it does seem pretty damn obvious ;p

So wait.... you get better gear in pvp than PVE? I was grinding the strike playlist all day and got myself to 22 but if it's easier to do pvp...

So when I see other players around me does that mean they are on the same mission as I am? Because I have never seen any other players actually progress on the same path I have in a mission, they are always dicking around in totally random spots on the map.

do you have tip on farming the special materials of each planet ? I can't be just going around the planet and search and collect them in patrol ?

Because for a legendary you need alot of this stuff, but i dont just want to ride my sparrow through Patrol and look for one piece only ?

In the Beta you could do 1 kind of Patrol mission ,where you get 10 at a time, but they took it out of the Beta.

I respect your perspective as just being different than mine on this. you want more info spelled out, that's valid. though actually i'd say that's exactly the kind of experimentation it encouages, doing things with guns against enemies. the type of experimentation it discourages would be attempting to go where you "shouldn't," as my many "Misadventures" on the moon would attest.

lol no

those objectives were simply mission items and had nothing to do with weapons. you just gotta know what to look for and where really. i'm sure a ton of farming videos will be up by the end of the weekend

Which planet are you most likely to hit a public event atm? Me and my buddy have been on patrol for hours on various planets and got nothing. I've still clocked one event since I owned the game, this is ridiculous!

the moon. public events are supposed to occur twice every hour. on the moon you can travel around the map in 2 minutes so it makes it easier to find them

got a LIGHT question. if you have armor with LIGHT that's has lower defense than armor without it, is the LIGHT armor weaker or stronger despite having lower defense?

You can generally complete two or three PvP matches in the time it takes to do one strike. It appears how good you are, how difficult the strike is, etc, are all completely irrelevant when it comes to the loot RNG.

I'm kinda disappointed that the areas that were blocked off in the alpha and beta (Kings' Watch and Jovian Complex) are still blocked off. I wonder what the deal is with those.

This is supposed to be a Strike (or maybe just another story piece) location down the road. Don't know if they'll roll it out as a weekly event or what, but yeah I wish they'd take the locks off some of these areas. Looking through the Destiny DB information that's available, there are a number of interesting activities on the horizon.

I had seen 1 since launch before last night and then 4 last night. I think it was 2 on the Moon, 2 on Venus. no idea what the deal is

Damn, really considering doing the jump and buy a PS4 for this game. I'd buy one anyway sooner or later but there aren't many games that I'm interested coming in the next months. And those that come out, I'd rather buy them for PC :(
I just can't decide what to do lol

That's weird. I've experienced maybe 7-8 and I'm not even that far in to the game. Don't think you have to be doing Patrol missions mind, just do any mission, story or otherwise. I think you do get them mainly in Patrol missions, but I'm pretty sure ice had them in story too, when we've just been exploring, looking for chests or items, getting to main mission darkness areas etc.

Finished up the story and decided to check out the PvP. I have never gotten my ass beat so bad in a game. I played two salvages and then whatever the normal team death match is all the way to the right on the PvP screen. We got destroyed so fucking bad. I mean like the other team having 4 times the points we did and maybe two or three kills a match between my entire team.

I don't know what the fuck I'm not getting, but at least my team mates seem to be not getting it as well. I guess that's something.

Sadly, you only get the 3 coins the firdt time you do the weekly strike
I got them on two different runs, but not the third.

Bastion is the worst map of the bunch...

It's one of my favorite maps. People seem to get caught up on it being unnecessarily big -- which it totally is -- but I just don't stray to the outer edges. I mostly play on the center, hold B, or Snipe towards B from across the gap in the ruins. And then if one of the other points need attention, I run over to em real quick. I love it.

My least favorite map is Blind Watch. By far. First Light is pretty iffy, but not terrible. I'm shocked at how good the maps in this game are overall.

That's what I did and I was fine.
