Anyway. Absolutely loving this game, I hit level 24 today on my Titan and I still haven't beaten the story missions. Shoulder Charge in PvP is one of the most satisfying things I've ever felt. Did the level 26 strike Playlist today, was actually a breeze we got the Fallen Strike on Venus.

Really hoping the enjoyment holds out, but loot grinds are addicting for me so I plan on putting many hours into it!

If anyone wants to do Strikes or Crucible on XB1 add me. My GT is Kyouko la Kill, Defender Titan on Strikes and Striker on PvP. A final note, Salvage is really really fun.

Even after hitting Level 20, you continue earning XP to unlock to eventually unlock all of your subclass skills. There's even a trophy/achievement for it.

I feel like this game is getting ravaged because it's by Bungie. If it were say, Obsidian, I feel like it would be being praised to hell and back.


The Hype machine was a detriment. At least to reviews. Hopefully the game does well enough in sales anyway.


I am only on Venus and the AB so far, level 14 with a friend, but so far it's been some of the most pure fun we have had in a while. The world is one I genuinely want to explore. Not just because I am low on ammo, but because I have the compulsion.

Fantastic game. Art direction is superb, lore is fantastic, missions are great fun, even the repetitive ones. The idea that tons of new content is already on the way has me excited as hell.

Yup. Once you unlock a subclass for one class, though, you can then switch to either subclass for any new character you start.
 
I am a Warlock and have only done Void.

I may check out the other since I will probably try more PvE stuff now.
Once you have stuff unlocked, you can't go back if playing competitively.

Having no double-jump etc. kills your mobility and combat effectiveness.
 
PvP is horrendous, but I do it for the crucible marks and faction rep points. It's insane to think just yesterday I was sweating getting quality gear to level at level 20, and today I finished on the brink of level 23 (one armor upgrade from 24).

Tomorrow's schedule is nothing but crucible marks and bounties.

I started playing as my under leveled sub class whenever I was matched with really bad people, haha. I was able to keep up fine, especially once I got the double jump unlocked.

You should try salvage. It's pretty intense.
 
Another code has been found in the Limited Edition and posted to Reddit. And how this one was hid is a doozy. The code:

It unlocks the Flames of Forgotten Truth emblem.

They are somehow "balanced" - but perks still effect them?

I don't quite understand it. Because some guns absolutely wreck other guns, so they aren't all the same. I guess it is sort of like CoD how there are bonus grants.

And that's why I'm suggesting to everyone that they focus on improving their own skills and/or just having some plain ole fun. Because if you focus on progression, progression, progression, it's going to wear you down when the loot doesn't drop in your favor.

Honestly, in your case, I think it's a bit of burn out. You had a streak of good rolls a bit ago and now you've gone dry and it's frustrating you and making you feel negatively about the game. It's not wrong and it's not your fault. Just take a break for a bit and come back to the game in a night or two and see how you feel. If it's still too frustrating and you feel it's not for you, by all means bow out. No one should feel pressured to play a game they don't enjoy.

You've been one of the constants in these threads and I feel you've always been positive about the game. But if it's not fun, then it's not fun.

You sound upset and are trying to create a defense that Hype or the developer bias had any part of its low scores but this is not thread for this debate.
 
I made the mistake of reading the review thread today, and my brain is still swimming.

I got to play for another two hours tonight with two of my very close real life friends, and had a fucking blast. This game is really, really fun. We did a few strikes, and I gained two levels, so that was great (I'm only level 9, 10 soon). I also got some better weapons, and I'm slowly understanding a lot more of the games nuances. Of course the game isn't perfect, and has some issues, but the core gameplay is about as polished and tight as I expect from a Bungie game. The sheer enjoyment of the combat makes the repetitive nature of the missions a non-issue for me.
 
Finally got the cable I needed to use my X12 headset with PS4..I've been trying to use the P4c ones but goddamn they're terrible. Been avoiding joining any groups because I was sick of having to ask people to repeat every 2nd sentence.

Been playing a mix of strike playlists and PVP. Really bummed that the weekly Heroic doesn't have matchmaking. Everything should have matchmaking! Quite hard getting people together on moment's notice. One of the things this game got wrong is not respecting our time. That said I'm addicted.

In other news: still pissed off that I didn't get my inner chamber emblem from Bungie.

After seeing the effects of ricocheting Fusion Rifle bursts and explosive scout rifle rounds... I think "CoD Balanced" should replace "balanced" when referring to PvP.

Blinking on people who've never seen it before is all kinds of unfair lol
 
anyone else feel like the hunters swarm grenade is gimped? every time I try this it just feels inferior to the alternatives in every way.
 
Got this from my first purple engram after losing hard at some pvp.

Some of the upgrades are radar still showing when aiming and going invisible while aiming.

It sucks. There's no reason to have that grenade over either of the alternatives.
 
Just got the legendary hand cannon "Lord High Fixer." Been pretty lucky today, that makes legendary weapon #3 for me.
