PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

Can I download PSP games directly to PC and then transfer to Vita?
Do I need MediaGo or is that incompatible with Vita?
MediaGo first and then that Contents Assistant program for Vita?

Want to download R-Type Tactics and it's not visible in the Vita PSN store.

That's not something you should say with good conscience :P
The plot's supposed to be just as good or better than SDR2
Well, more import friendly than a regular Dangan Ronpa since it's more action than deduction. • 3•

Hoping it's as good as Kodaka promises. I don't know if I could handle something better than 2.

So I spent about 2 hours playing Neptunia Re;Birth1 and died in a cave. The game resets to the main menu. WTF. It wasn't saving at all? I'm highly tempted to trade the game back in now over it. I thought we left the days of games not saving periodically.
Never, ever make this assumption with an RPG. Especially a JRPG.

Actually I think that's a bad idea in general outside of an AAA shooter. Even platformers, a genre that can be the best with auto saves, can have dumb save restrictions (hey NSMB!)

I don't think you can transfer any game from your computer to your Vita, only games you've copied to your computer before from your Vita.
Media Go only works with PSP I believe.

And if R-Type Tactics isn't on the Vita store then it's likely it's not compatible with Vita. Maybe it's PS3 transfer compatible.

I've had it on my Vita before, so I know it's compatible. Just a hassle to find it in my download list of almost 2000 items (thanks sony).
And it's not searchable since it's been removed from the store after Hudsons demise.

Edit: Found it :)

I don't know why it has been 6 years since the last PSN UI overhaul, and they still can't figure out the download list sorting or categorizing for shit. It couldn't be the problem of incompetence, honestly.

You mean more heart-wrenching.

probably a combination of things
bad planning at the start of things arguably contributed to making implementing a sensible PSN UI, Download Lists, etc a very difficult process

they should just hire interns - like VitaGAF - to re-categorise the various listings on PSN Store

Fyi the PSX R-Type games got delisted months ago, the only way to get them on Vita was through the glitch that occurred some months ago.

How far am I?
Danganronpa 1

Just started chapter 5. In the last class trial (Ch4) Monokuma said it was half-way of the game but I don't believe that.

AAA to me is the classic; big budget game by well known developer. I don't equate AAA with fun though, if that's what you're thinking.
Yeah, but I mean, Uncharted GA has a big budget, but stuff like Tearaway isn't AAA budget-wise. I was just making sure that it wasn't a nice way to say that it's an indie, because that's basically what it means nowadays.

Fair of you to say that but
You are nearing the end of the game, and IIRC the tutorial text isn't from Monokuma

Man I wanna buy MGS to put on my Vita but I am getting Steam syndrome. I fear that as soon as I do a week or so late a sale will announce with it in for half off.

My general rule is that if I don't buy a video game in the first month or two of release, I'll just wait for either a price drop or a sale. It's been working out well so far.

Unfortunately, I tend to buy most of my Vita games at launch.

True...I should just wait. Sure it will pop up again for less at some point.

TBH, I don't consider indie a category or classification of game - it's a classification of where it comes from. Same with AAA. I only mentioned it wasn't an AAA as I didn't want to get someone's hopes up for something ridiculous.

Was meant to constrain expectations while delivering some hype for something cool.

You're at the point where Danganronpa 2 should be downloading or bought physical and sitting beside you. ;)

K HURRY UP AND BUY DEAD AND UNDRESSED ALREADY ZERO JESUSCHRIST

That's the point. If it's a game from an indie studio I have different expectations from a game made by Bamco, for example.
And considering that you said it's western based and not a port, IF it's not indie, I'm even more curious since we're talking about an handheld and I'd have no idea on what could it be.

I'll have to buy Disgaea 4 Vita first. D:

I think Final Fantasy X bored me to the point where I had to take a long break from the Vita. Diablo 3 and Infamous probably didn't help either. I'm really tempted to skip FFX and go straight into X-2.

To contain overhyped people. Can you say the genre of the game at least? You don't have to say jrpg if it belongs in that one just say. Platform. RPG. Racing. Etc .

Anyone else's Vita get a bit weird after prolonged use and you have to restart it to get front touch working quite right? Maybe once a month or two I have to shut it all the way down because touch is acting funky even if I clean it. Oddly the home screen usually works but in-game touch either doesn't work at all or is extremely screwy. After a full shutdown it's fine. Really weird. OG Vita latest firmware.

Something similar happened to me twice when playing Dragon's Crown. The touchpad just "froze" itself in one spot and the game thought that I was pressing that spot the whole time although I didn't. Had the same problem on the home screen as well but it worked fine after a complete reboot.

Yeah FFX is about as slow moving as it gets....hop on that X-2 wagon

Buy it . unless you can wait a few months I don't see discounted metal gear games soon enough. the ports are great but the games are awesome. I finish for the first time the 4 games on vita . it is totally worth the price.

I cannot wait till tgs announcents . the Sony pre conference gave me some hope . there are already a bunch of vita games announced so I think we will get some surprises from third party devs. Vita is life indeed . at least in Japan .

Not that, but a different problem. If I go a while between full shut downs, sometimes my wifi will either not turn off, or on, or won't connect to things and give me an error message each time. Can't do anything about it except turn it off and then back on :|

I circumvent this by shutting it down every other day or so. Really, every electronic device should be rebooted everyday, in my eyes :P

I know people love Suspend and Resume for RPGs, but personally for stuff like FFX I love to play them on the big screen with a handheld or PC at my fingertips to do stuff while waiting for long animations, cutscenes etc. Not so doable on the Vita version, unless you have 4 hands.

My router is unfortunately like this but nothing else. I wish it had the sense to auto-reboot itself when it stopped connecting right, if actually functioning properly is too much to ask.

I just feel like I spend less and less time in front of my TV, and my PC is using for other things so the Vita is perfect place to play RPG.

I'm just curious since it's on the handheld, and the western scene for handheld is as great as Xbox One in Japan, unless it's indie. The mentioning of "not indie game on Vita from western" is something will surprise me.You could say I'm cautiously hype.

Played through MGS when it was released and havn't really played it since. Had a itch to play it again and I think it would be awesome on the Vita. Plus a while back I bought MGS 3 on the Vita and I have never played it. Hear it's great and I figured reliving MGS would get me hyped up to play 3.

I thought you already bought it since you are using the D4 avatar for quite some time now.
I was going to, but that demo is good enough for me at the moment. I'll buy it at some point.

Will do after I start getting tired of Diablo/Infamous.

After moving my old TV from the living room into my bedroom, I've began to appreciate big-screen gaming again. I don't think it would have changed my mind about FFX though, since my problems with it mostly have to do with gameplay.

Might prefer FFX-2 then, as said--a bit faster paced, no switching in (though dressphere changes are similar), and no one is near-useless like Kihmari or Rikku before breaking out of their sphere grid. I found the Expert sphere grid does a pretty good job though.

Speaking about FFX - did they change leveling in HD version or do i need to move every character in battle at least once to get exp for him/her ?
