this game is bullshit. so i'm only level 10 and i was on patrol in old russia, just exploring. i went through the grottos, avoided the enemies, went outside, saw the shrieker, kept running to the left and it warned me to turn back. there was obviously more shit there, yet it restricted me from exploring. i thought that type of crap would only be in the beta.

Also, do we know if the soft-cap level 20 is permanent? Levelling felt really rushed. Most people hit 20 in the first few days. Kinda strange just getting more armour (randomly) with incrementally more light. XP makes more sense.

Yeah, I'm not digging on getting the armor to have a 'higher' level.

It's random. It's a long quest line to an exotic weapon. I've started working on one for a fusion rifle, but it's going to take a while.

That's true. You can clear a strike up to the boss in a few minutes depending on how many of those PROTECT GHOST objectives you run into. Then you get to the boss.

Instance bosses in MMOs don't even take this long compared to their actual levels/instances. Stuff like this makes me wonder if Bungie ever did play any MMO. I mean, it's obvious they played Borderlands but that's not a MMO and has its slew of problems as well

HOW!? I wish there was a reliable way to farm coins. I HATE PVP, but it seems like that's the only way to do it. And even then it's all about getting lucky almost a dozen times with the RNG so you can save up enough of them. I REALLY want those gauntlets =(

I've been getting lucky and getting the coins from decrypting Rare and a Legendary Engrams, as well as a few from PvP.

If you farm for engrams that would be a good means as well.

You go on the Nexus strike, get to the last cave where some goblins ambush you, obliterate them, pick up any loot and jump off. Darkness zone, respawns you just before the goblin group. Rinse and repeat. I got 9 blue and 1 purple engram in an hour earlier doing it. Got my hands on 4 coins with those lol.

The spot where all the robot things spawn on the nexus strike. You kill all of them and then jump off and kill yourself and respawn in the same area. Rinse and repeat.

Randoms quit out of Vanguard Strikes at the first sign of trouble. They continually remind me why Bungie decided against matchmaking for Raids.

Wait th gamespot review said more or less that their is nothing fun left to do after you beat the story... But other people say the game only begins at level 20... So which is it?

Level 20 is both where the fun begins and where the frustration begins. Loot is a lot more varied and interesting but it's devastating to grind away for hours and walk away with nothing.

I am as well, and I'm only half-leveled for my Defender sub-class. I can't wait to be fully leveled. Popping a shield over a Control point is a great deterrent and with Force Barrier active anyone who comes in the bubble gets a light speed punch to the face.

Iron Banner should be fun as a defender with all that armor.

Yeah, it's glorious. Massive damage resistance for self and allies whilst inside. Can generate orbs of light via kills within when upgraded.

So the ultra-tedious grindiest part of WoW that literally a handful of people on each server would ever see is the pedigree they are drawing from. Gotcha.

On a more serious note, I downloaded the companion app so I can read the story or whatever, and there's no dedicated iPad version - it's blown up from the iPhone. Everything is blurry as heck, and UI elements are huge. I hate it - 4/10.
