"So evil it despises other evil"
to be fair:The story actually makes me somewhat embarrassed. I would never ever be able to play this in front of anyone else. How do you explain that this game has a bigger budget than any Hollywood movie yet they didn't hire a real writer? It's not even amusing or funny at all, it's just a massive waste of resources and talent. It feels like an oil tanker that sank and spilled all its oil on a coral reef. There is so much good in the presentation yet its all gunned down by the hammiest, most embarrassing story/exposition since Final Fantasy XIII.
We need a change in this industry, we honestly do. This shit will take this medium back twenty years...

This one is the worst. Did the guy who wrote that seriously think that all evil things are buddy-buddy with other evil things because they share a common evilness? Does he think Count Dracula and Adolf Hitler would be best friends?
My second favorite is, "Beware of the sword. Its power is dark."
Which seems pretty easy in writing to decipher, the sword has a dark power to it. But the way Dinklage says the line is so methodical and plain that it sounds like he's giving a factual statement. "It's power is dark", as in, this sword has a special ability, and that special ability is "dark". Like, dark itself.
to be fair:
1) the average blockbuster movie has a pretty basic story and relies on special effects and action.
2) that budget is for a 10 year period of upgrades and addons, as well as all advertising.

Getting a kraken club is easier than deciphering these fucking legendary engrams

In other news, I finally got a Shingen E
Head writer dude already left to 343, if I recall. This story AHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAH
"So evil it despises other evil"
"I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain"
I want to punch the writers. And then fire them.
Nope, it's all right on the disk. Just luck of the draw, personally I've had it probably more than any other map.Do I need to download something from PS store in order to unlock the ps exclusive content in the game? I havent seen the exodus blue map yet.
Doesn't Agent of Xur leave?
I want an exotic primary weapon and either this or the monte carlo or w/e it's called is what I want. I think we're supposed to just pray to get it, but apparently crucicble is the best way to get either (at least the exotic primary weapons).
Not on Xbox One :-(
Who?
I played crucible for 6 hours straight tonight and didn't get any gear higher than level 18
Thanks bungie

Whoever wrote the plot, and the dialogue for that matter, needs to not work on it for any DLC or the next game. Sorry, but its horrible and laughable at best.
Also the voice director. What the fuck. Dinklage is a damn fine actor, and his lines were delivered largely in an awkward fashion that still has my friends and I cracking up when we're playing and one of us says
"Where's his GHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUST" which sounds like "where's his goose" which imho would make the game so much better.
Also what's the point of getting all of these great voice actors if you're gonna have them say 3 fucking lines of dialogue lol, such wasted talent.
breh
since launch i've had three legendary engrams total

See i look at Destiny differently, i see what is currently released as being nothing more than the bare minimum groundwork with a vauge story that serves only to introduce the guardians and the enemies, while presenting the player with certain plot points that are not followed up on.Blockbuster movies generally have decent presentation, acting, and a few emotional scenes. I wouldn't call their stories high brow, but they're generally coherent. A lot of video games match this standard, Destiny is not one of them.
4 months ago I did hope that Destiny's story would be interesting and engaging. The beta put my expectations at rock bottom. The actual story that I got met my expectations, at least.
I've gotten one legendary engram total. It had a strange coin inside.
The progression in Destiny is bullshit. What the fuck am I supposed to do? Vanguard strikes get me nothing and Crucible drops are a total crapshoot. The only reliable option is buying lv20 gear from vendors but ranking up takes like a month. All that crucible today and I'm at like 150/2000 for rank fucking 2 which doesn't even give me weapons. Also I won most of my matches. Fuck.
Seriously frustrating.

This is where paying attention to the actual lore of the game makes these lines not nearly as bad within context.
"Evil so evil..." References that ALL of the enemies are servants of The Darkness... yet they still hate each other.
"Beware of the Sword. It's power is dark." Again, referencing that the power of the sword is that of one forged from The Darkness... So it's especially deadly to the players, whose power is rooted in The Light.
A lot of people are shitting on the dialogue for being overly prose or cheesy but if you look at the dialogue to most major movies, books, whatever... the lines will come across that way if you're being overly skeptical of the content. This is true of pretty much every written medium that I can think of. Ranging from Saturday Morning cartoons to major dramatic motion pictures.
its not that bad. i'm level 2 (nearly 3) with futurewar and i'll be able to buy whatever i want pretty quick soon.
crucible/van rep doesn't stand out quite enough for me to prioritize that just yet anyways.

I consider it a hub from which they intend to grow the game in all aspects, we go through story lines and are introduced to things like the last warmind rasputin activating and eventually reaching out to and using other networks but its left at that, the situation with the queen and her brother is also left ambiguous. I feel as though they have huge plans for where to take both the gameplay and the story but want to do so over the course of time and use these updates for both revenue and to keep the core players interested or at least wiling to hold on to the game and pick up play again when they next feel the desire.
with that in mind it makes much more sense to me, and the overly obviois suggestion at the end of the story currently that states in no uncertain terms that this is just the beginning only further underlines that.
How long did it take you to reach that rank with the faction? Do faction ranks level quicker than regular Crucible/Vanguard?
Legendary engrams are completely borked, every single one that I have gotten thus far has given me blue items.

Bungie pls.
Ah yes, that deep, rich lore that by that point in the game was shown to us. Oh wait. No, it wasn't. It wasn't shown. It was all 100% outside the game.
