i was actuly gonna say something about this a couple of days ago but i saw everyone jumping on other people so fast.
i feel vindicated somehow.
i feel vindicated somehow.
Agreed. The only thing I'll say is that this is yet another great reason for cops to wear lapel cameras.
Well good for youi was actuly gonna say something about this a couple of days ago but i saw everyone jumping on other people so fast.

You're not required to have ID on you unless you're operating a vehicle. In the context of the bullshit story, she was being arrested and handcuffed for simply not showing ID, which made absolutely no sense. Of course that story failed to mention the whole 'fucking in view of the public' part. The cop did, like he explained, have ample reason to get her information.
What a suprise, another celebrity coming across as a self entitled moron.
I didn't say every celebrity, it's just every time something comes out about a celebrity doing something moronic I'm not surprised.
Especially if it's Beiber.

You are ruining shit for us.
This one will now be used as "see???? racism in the world isn't real! We always have to wait for all the facts!"
Thanks a fuck ton. The sad part is that the narrative happens often to folks, as many have said. But now, with this, this will surely be cited as more of the standard situation with complaints against the PD. (in the face of all the data otherwise) The folks who just showed up during this revelation will forever have it in their pockets for all of these threads in the future.
This is as bad as that dude in ferguson calling the cops pigs and claiming they were all murderers. Of all times to pull this bullshit.
Do you not agree that we should get all the facts in every case before making generalizing statements about any party? The police or the other party involved?
We can only operate with the information available to us at the time. If we sat I'm every thread and said "let's wait till all the facts come out before commenting then nothing will ever be discussed.Do you not agree that we should get all the facts in every case before making generalizing statements about any party? I wouldn't mind if Sorian had his or her ban lifted if that was the post that triggered the ban.
Yup.The only thing I'll say is that this is yet another great reason for cops to wear lapel cameras.

Should? Sure.
But ain't nobody got time for that. Especially the press or the media.

I understand your point.. But when discussing a specific case.. Shouldn't facts be the primary discussion leader?A genuine person, who really needs "all the facts" I have no issue with. But the people that will have 9000 verifiable things counter to a persons actions/statement, and are still waiting out the facts, is the person that will throw shade on.
All the facts is used as a guise to not discuss the reality of the situation on the ground, and the fact-facts are generally ignored while the media-spin is regurgitated as fact and decisions/Donations are made that way. You can generalize nationwide police abuse, because there is a general abuse of police force nation wide, disproportionately targeted towards minorities.
This Thread title needs to be updated. The cops were completely reasonable and were just doing their job. She was acting like a defiant child. There were witnesses according to tmz saying she was fuckin her dude in the front seat of car with the door wide open. Pretty stupid.

The flow of horrible police abuse news sort of drowns out any calls for any less pressure on the PD to wear cameras nation wide. Its a win win scenario. And this is a great example for why police should be for it as well.

I was joking, but now that you mention it, I'm surprised this story took a 180 against Ms. Watts, considering I'm led to believe that it was her publicist who sent the story to Variety.
Well this certainly changes things. Was going to edit the OP but noticed a mod already included the tmz recording. I'll admit I was quick to believe the original story based on the history of prejudice that's been occurring (or covered more) recently. I'm glad the officers recorded the encounter. What a scuzzy opportunist (Watts).
It's just gross and annoying. Police brutality and racial profiling is too real and stunts like this just muddy the waters and give power abuser apologists grist for their mills.
How would a cop even respond to that anyways. Uh..yeah let me see that phone so I can talk to someone that isn't involved in this situation. Why would anyone think this is acceptable behavior.

I would imagine that she also lied to her publicist, and didn't realize that the whole encounter was recorded. She probably thought that the only media to come out of it would be the dramatic picture that her boyfriend/husband/whoever it was took.
A better thing to do instead of throwing shade or ridiculing someone for taking this stance, is to ask them to elaborate. If they refuse to do so (if it's a drive by post, or they are just saying it to say it)...then I can understand. I feel like we shouldn't jump to conclusions with our fellow posters on here though. Unless they have a reputation of being contrarian just to be contrarian (or do this to be dismissive). Just how I feel though.
I personally, always elaborate when I don't agree with something. But I know not everyone does this. But I guess I don't really see a problem with some reacting with "Wait till the facts are out" when it's no different than someone saying "this is racism, it's disgusting". Both are reaction/commentary that don't necessarily elaborate beyond someone making a personal statement of how they feel. So why is one acceptable, and the other isn't?
I bet the sex was off the chain though.
Lol at the title change and first few pages of this thread.
There really isn't any elaboration to be had on "wait for all the facts." That's kind of the point, it's used to try and stifle discussion not to encourage further discussion.
Yes, he was briefly banned, but is now back after the new info hit.I'm guessing more info was revealed since last night? This is comical because yesterday some poster said there wasn't enough info on this yet and people began attacking him and calling him a racist.
She stated in that CNN interview, that she knew she could've resolved the situation easily, but stayed hard headed on purpose to make a point for black people, because she saw herself in the position of being a hero by resisting.Okay, so the situation isn't what it appeared to be at first. I apologize for jumping the gun.
Why wouldn't she have just given her ID? How much trouble can you get in for having sex in your car other than being asked to move on? Public exposure, maybe. I don't know.

Unless s/he got banned for posting in another thread (Which I don't think is the case, unless s/he got banned in the Dangonropa thread.), it seemed like s/he was saying that people shouldn't judge until they had both sides of the situation while you jumped to conclusions.
In fact this:
was their last post before they got banned. I don't see how you could be any more sensible and objective. I also don't see how this thread is "Unrelated" considering it is the same thread they got banned in.
And PMing a Mod would be a complete waste of time. They were the ones who were unreasonable in the first place. I'm sure PMing them and telling them that they banned people for absolutely no reason will really do a lot of good.
This topic jumped to 14 pages in less then a day and a half. Check in at noon tomorrow and see if there is another 14 pages here. I'm sure everyone from the first 14 pages will be dying to come back and admit they were wrong. There will be some, but most of them will ignore this thread until it goes away and pretend like it never happened.
