I remember some other member (Steaks, maybe?) who mentioned how garish the game was at times. It's definitely a mixed bag in terms of visuals, but in some ways, I think that couldn't be avoided. Tatsunoko superheroes being involved at all means that half of the game's cast and stages was going to be a clash of colors and swirly effects all over the place. I think the game actually embraces that sort of thing, with its swirly voids and Baroques and other such things. That doesn't make it a good thing, but it is kind of intentional.

I think it'll get better, especially with the Wii U release honestly. Better stage selections + people will have the core tech figured out + no slide pad handicaps. As fun as the 3DS version is, that shit is killing me and quite a few other people even for just casually exploring what the game's systems entail.

There's also balance patching to be hopeful for.

Yeah. It wouldn't be so bad if every time you got a wrench icon it was a move for your character, because you can get them easy enough. But they may also be customization options for Smash Run or Mii clothing. So it ends up taking a while. At least the moves you get are for your character (until you get them all) and not random across the board.

Still, classic on 8+ intensity and all-star mode generate a ton of coins to burn on Figure Rush, which is the easiest way (I think) to get wrench icons and a decent standing-in-line time killer. You can get them in other modes but it's a bit more hit and miss.

I need to try out nnid online and see what the coins are like there.

Lots of silly stuff to be used with them.

I wanted to refrain from the latter since I thought everyone was going to jump and use him. Guess I was wrong.

I've been watching Minazuki footage more to get an idea of how to counter this guy. One trick I see often is throw knife -> teleport, or Persona attack -> teleport. The teleport comes from behind but since no one blocks it I can't tell if it's safe on block or not. It also crosses up in the corner which is bonkers.

It's important to learn this because it looks like his primary mixup option. I don't have the game to test.

It also looks like his overhead attack from rekkas is really easy to anti-air or punish if you IB the first sequence. However his AoA is really quite strong being a crossup high and his sweep has great range too. Hard to predict his attack pattern at mid range.
 
You know its weird that r/kappa love the asian women. I wonder if they all play baskeball too. Just throw some NBA scores in there I don't think it'll seem out of place.

I'm no Minazuki expert but I can still easily tell you that that's not a safe mixup in any way and I only do it because I can get away with it online.

Sometimes I feel cognitive dissonance because I consider myself a geek but I'm seldom attracted to Asian women. I mean, if she's bad, she's bad, but more often than not that's not the case.

I guess I'm not fully anime yet. (also I'm not white)
