I'm very confident with what my eyes see.
1080p or 'direct feed' doesnt matter if the AA method blurs the image to get rid of the aliasing, and I obviously did see it.
People have been blaming the video compression for some quality issues, but video compressions have always been here, and DC is not the first game being 1080p, but suddenly people started to complain about video compressions with Driveclub.
Yes, lights and enviroments are amazing and looks stunning. IQ wise, DC is not doing the best.
I invite you to campare FH2 and DC cockpit views.
Also, PS4 is a 400$ machine, dont expect the game to have graphics at highest possible settings just for being 30 fps.
Why? This isn't a comparison thread. Why are you even in here?
Congrats. Now why don't you go post this in a FH2/DC comparison thread?
I'm giving examples to support my arguments. Not making this a comparison thread.

Uh.. no, you are not. You are trying to imply that you can see how good a game's IQ is from having looked some sub-HD Twitch feed or horribly compressed Youtube vids.I'm giving examples to support my arguments. Not making this a comparison thread.
Closed track is the new corridor.
I have a theory that open world racers are generally dumbed down racing games that definately cater to a more casual audience. No need to think or care about breaking points or racing lines, just point your car in the general direction of the finish line and hit the gas. FUN.
I hope they patch in weather very close to launch, it adds so much to the game.
The weather and day time changes are not in at launch?
Time change is there day one and weather will be patched in by the end of the year.
corridor racing is a term now....
I really have to LOL at that being use to knock a game , need to add some money to my account so i can buy this.
Got here too late and missed all the goodness.
Do we have gifs?
Also, wtf is a corridor race? Is this how people are calling "tracks" now?
On the bright side we can learn a lot about Forza Horizon 2.
People have been advising not to use videos for a long time, and for a great number of games.I'm very confident with what my eyes see.

What is there to know? You put your foot on the gas and you go forward. They've gone into detail on many occasions about what they're doing for gameplay. I don't know what you're after. There's just so little information about the actual racing offering that you know that threads about this game can be about little other than the most superficial shit that drives the 'war'. I blame Sony for their absolutely awful style of marketing their games. Makes me also think the game will be much less meaty and varied than is constantly assumed. Really surprised, also, at just how little customization there is in that stream, if those settings screens are correct and that main menu is all there is. Very limited-seeming.
I've learned things on this thread.
I've discovered that some racing games have a driver aid called 'auto braking' and I'm trying to work out how such a thing would be required by anyone.
I've learned of a new way of describing track racing is 'corridor' racing.
Because when you're racing a car the first thing you can do is go haring off the road and off on some kind of safari. Why do you need to 'explore' the bits off the road?
I am at a loss as to why having to remain on the road can be construed as being a corridor, But then I'm also at a loss as to why some people think red-head females leads can't battle robodinos with high-tension bow & arrow weapons.
A simple yes or no to answer the question 'Have you played the game?' would have done.
You'll make a good politician though with answers like that.

Both games seem different enough to me that I'll enjoy both. Had a lot of fun with the beautiful FH2 demo yesterday. This is a good year for racing games.
To be fair they were just describing the track design.People are complaining now about a racing game being linear?... I've seen everything now. You know, in a real race, if you go off the track for a specified amount of time you get disqualified, easy as that. Or am I talking some bs here?![]()
To justify their console purchase? There is a reason why The Crew is barely mentioned in this thread and FH2 is.
And then he'll get shi**ed on for not elaborating and just lying about it... LOL this is hilarious to read.
Well, then, maybe there ought to be a more centralized up-to-date source of this information on GAF. I've seen a good chunk of what you've listed, but I assumed, perhaps wrongly, that there was more to it and something of a catch-all in something in recent threads not buried in one months past. You mean aside from the thread with the direct capture of the SP from the beta, or the PS blog stuff, or Rushy explaining here (and elsewhere) that there is no car customisation, you'll only be able to pick pre-designed liveries etc.
Really? You are so very defensive, but okay, then, dude.Everything in your post has been in the press of on a DC thread on Gaf. I can only assume you're trolling or have been wilfully ignoring the information available on all these matters. This is almost on a par with NMS thread comments.
We know all of those things. How about greater detail about the different race types other than the number and names? How about more detail about user customization? How about a better look at all the social challenges and modes? Or is what little they have shared over the last year and a half all there is to know? These threads can't seriously be nothing but gifs and the same old talk with nothing new to know and to discuss.
Driveclub |OT| Corridor racing at its finest
Man what the fuck is it with Driveclub threads

Well, thanks for taking the time to reply seriously with a post that actually contributes positively, man. Guess I was hoping that there would be more to know about player customization and progression. Have they revealed a look at a replay feature and its functions? For a game that values its looks quite highly, I would think they would do more than just let people stream and capture clips. We know all of those things.
You have point-to-point races, traditional lap races, time trials. All your basic racing events - these do not need explaining.
User customisation comes in the form of car liveries, you can have your own and your club can have one - shared among all the club members so no need to recreate. Liveries are created with preset shapes and design elements, which you unlock as your progress with the game, and cars have some custom ones already made for you to choose from.
Likewise, social features have been explained since day one. Face Offs littered all around events, things like drift challenges, average speeds - and just like the race types do not need explaining beyond the name as their name is self-explanatory. If you don't know what a drift challenge is going to be then you clearly aren't going to be buying a racing game. Beat the score/time/etc and get yourself some Fame points.
Use your Fame points to rank up and unlock cars/liveries etc. Crash into someone you'll be docked Fame. Drive clean sectors, earn some more Fame.
Honest question, why is this shit only going on in this DC thread and not in the FH2 demo thread? Surely all the trolling can't be this one sided?
At least FH2 is more fun.
subjectively speaking of course
Replays is an unknown, this much is true.Well, thanks for taking the time to reply seriously with a post that actually contributes positively, man. So you've played the full version of Forza horizon 2 and Driveclub?
If not f off please. Subjectively speaking you cant judge shit yet.
Preordered through PSN last night. Can't wait for that corridor-racing goodness.

There's no weather at launch? It's not being defensive, I'm just surprised by how much people expect to be spoon-fed on here.
A very basic google search 'drive club tracks & race types' will get a link to a Gaf-banned site which has all 55 track variations. Took me all of 30 seconds to do.
