The demo is going to build up hype for a release within the same year. So yeah, end of 2015.

Ya. I couldn't imagine them planning on releasing a demo and then waiting a year plus to release it. It defeats the purpose. Anyone else getting nostalgic talking about Squaresoft demo's on nearly every PS1 game.. sigh. Playing Chocobo Racing, Xenogears, Threads of Fate Demo. FF VIII Demo. Good times.
 
The combat dosen't look very button mashy actually. It looks pretty slow, but a kind of deliberate slow. I wonder if weapons will have different values that effect that. Dosen't look bad though. Probably the QTE's missing for those team up moves.

There is something I always wanted to ask about Dark night skies in games.

I don't know how to describe it but I see those ugly concentric circles that come in only when there is a lot light source in some games.

Is this from the game/video itself or from my screen ?

Is there a specific word for this phenomenon ?
 
It's better than what they showed last year, but the original will remain the best :(.

Original Stella, we barely knew you... She was incredible... I think we now have a pretty definitive face for her. I have trouble forming an objective opinion about her final look due to how much I love the original.

I am sure that I will warm up to her if she is interesting, intelligent and able to get by as much as the boys. I been having high hopes about her for a long time, feels like she could have been a kid when the game was announced and now look like she does in this trailer!

It is hard to see with my phone, but I think you're talking about banding.
 
I wonder what happened to Cor and where this trailer takes place at specifically because it sounds like Noctis' father is still alive. Gameplay looks awesome though!

Are you talking about color banding?

It's usually the result of compressed colors on a source that is typically has a lot of subtle changes in colors, like a gradient. It shows up in skies because there's usually a lot of those subtle changes in your typical sky and, well, this is a fairly low quality stream.

I don't think so. Maybe some interviews with Tabata from Japanese magazines. Maybe.
 
I hope the release some gameplay focused video in the future. It's really hard to tell the battle system from this new trailer.

You have 3 characters, one who shoots and one who has swords, and one that has a mixture. We know that for noctis atleast, he'll control like zack from crisis core. That is you can dodge enemies by doing that little cartwheel, and then back attack, and then launch into combos.

Anyone who's played KH or Crisis core should automatically be familiar, cause its like a fusion of those two battle systems
 
I just hope the demo is released soon after Type-0. If I have access to playing the demo and actually having a portion of FFXV that's playable by me, that'll help ease the wait so much easier.
 
Well, the "plan" is at least Japan by the end of 2015. I kind of expected them to announce that today. But maybe they don't want to commit to anything yet... cause, well you know. About Nomura leaving... well, let's just say that history tends to repeat itself more than some realize.

History repeating much faster i thought , o well at least the game still looks great .

I wonder if SE decided to delay it in Japan (due to current system sales) so they could have a simultaneous WW release.

Edit: On second thought it looks better.

Loving the new necklace w/my fave charm symbol, also the gemstones match her eyes (blue w/purple inside).

Is it possible that Luna (black hair) is wearing a similar necklace? There's a chain in her photo as well.

GOD YES!

I hate this so much! When I played Dragon's Dogma banding was really glaring at night.

Is there anything I can do to change this with my screen setting or is something I just need to deal with if its happening in the game itself ? :/
 
even the e3 2013 trailer looked a lot quicker than this new trailer. I was expecting KH style combat which is exactly how se was describing the combat system, no?
I don't remember e3 being much quicker if at all. Even in 2011 with the ps3 version, this is pretty much how it looked.

It's very KH-ish to me but with a more realistic (and less anime-like) flow. The animations are fantastic and have great interpolation. Maybe that's not everybody's bag, but it's definitely mine. I'm not fond of excessively fast or low frame animation - Tales games, Dynasty Warriors etc.
 
I know i should not be suprised, but damn..i put the trailer on my PS3 and played it on my HD tv...you can clearly see the aliasing in every scene..

But what REALLY shocked me, was that the close up to stella has polygons and aliasing clearly visible all over her arms, and her hair has clear shadow dithering, and her eyebrows too show dithering.

How the fuck did they get that stella render in real time!? And is it going to look like that on PS4??
