"Almost there."

;___;

This makes me think of

Which instantly makes me think the game would be ready by now if they had just tried to get there by jet instead of car

with it being an RPG, massive world, lots of voice.. is it really possible that space is not an issue? :( i fear it might

Yes, but both versions will now be on Blu-Ray. If that's the case and space is an issue (i highly doubt it), they could easily release the JP VA as a free DLC. But you can never be sure with Squeenix, they might offer it as paid content.

There was a conversation about this a while ago. Apparently, the contracts for Japanese VA often do not mention or allow their work to be on localized versions of the games, So it's additional paperwork/money they dont want to deal with when the average gamer wouldn't really care about original language.

Someone clarify or correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure there was a thread about this long ago

It's been quite the road trip in and of itself with you guys.

I really enjoyed being a fan of this game...unlike many other dream games, this one actually came true and never got cancelled,Nomura departing aside.

Its like we got our own Half Life-3 I guess, a holy grail of gaming.

yea i'm expecting a late 2015 japan release and 2016 spring for everyone else

unless they can magically do a worldwide release which they wont

I hope there is an Auron style character in personality, might just be me that wants that...but he Is one of my favourite FF characters, both in personality and combat style.

Cool, calm, wise, but can kick major ass when he needs to.

The blonde guy is polarising already it seems, I'm on the edge about him too, but I'll reserve judgement for them all until I've played it, hopefully he redeems himself in some way. "Sidekicks" should be more like Vivi.

Looks like they are building up that camaraderie nicely for when they eventually have to kill of our companions........I like this. Better savour the road trip lads :D

So I was watching this on the can earlier today, I've always liked FF/RPG music (and I think SQUARESOFT music in general), and the melody used on the trailer really stuck with me, like I had listened to it before, so I did a little brain search and came up with this:

(Don't laugh it's from a soap opera that was BIG in my country when I was like 10 or so hehe):

https://youtu.be/PAOKJGp9VF4

While not identical I think both pieces share a few similarities, anyways I continued to listen to said soundtrack and realized why I liked it so much, it sounds like it came out of Final Fantasy...

https://youtu.be/cvSGoUV0_go

Even the instrumentation (synth?) strikes me as videogamesque...

On Topic:

FF XV looks pretty good, I liked it more than the previous trailer, I really liked the original KH so I think I'll like the battle system, I'll wait for it with measured expectations...

Prompto's japanese voice is the only one I dislike.

Its really stereotypical whiny anime brat kind of voice.Drags the character down.

I am actually confident the English voice has a shot at being better.

MGSV as well, TPP for me is aiming for that destiny sept slot

I wonder if the MGSV will have remarkably high sales even within the series.

Its has had consistently fantastic marketing.

MGSV and FFXV are too games that could bring back Japanese relevance.Very important those releases are.

lol @ those stock personalities, can you get any more run-of-the-mill?

MGSV is one of the few JP franchises that actually does surprisingly well in the West.. FFXV is a wildcard atm SE should do a marketing thing ala destiny with sony it would be beneficial for them.

I'm thinking March, though that's kind of wishful thinking, there was that Guardian article where Konami told them to take the March date down and put "early 2015" There's also the "come back early 2015 to claim dlc" thing on Konami's site as well.

If we don't get a release date by the end of TGS is looking pretty grim.. However I think kojima will drop the bomb at VGA In dec but if we don't get a release date this year it's a fall 2015 title I have a feeling MGO is the reason of the delay.

That music from 1:08 onwards is getting me so excited. I keep watching the trailer from that point again.

Music is such a big thing that a lot of studios either don't bother with or grasp properly. It adds so much to the experience it's unreal. In fact if I were to list a rough Top 20 or so games I've ever played, they all have amazing music. Not servicable but fantastic and I have at least one track from each on my phone.

It's one place I think Western games (with a few exceptions) have been deficient in and large part of why I prefer Japanese games and RPG's. Now time to listen to it again

It's like they don't have a cohesive vision for the game world, or any sense of artistic direction. You have NSync riding around in their shiny vehicle driving on pristine highway roads with no evidence of other traffic while giant dinosaurs and other crazy things are casually strolling about. They hop out to fight enemies in medieval-themed armor which might be cool if it were a steampunk setting or something, but there's no evidence of that kind of thing anywhere else.

Usually you have an art director or whatever that has full control of making sure the visuals are thematically consistent. This game is all over the place. It's like there's no one in the team saying, "no, you can't add that into the game because it doesn't make sense". Considering the absurd development time and SE's desperation to just get a product released, maybe they don't even care anymore.

Or maybe the clash of styles is what they're going for? Square's art team is pretty good and this is very deliberate.

Noctis kingdom is the only one who holds the last crystal so maybe the other countries are underdeveloped in a way. I prefer all the different and crazy vistas/locations it's better than having something grey and dull.

A lot of care has gone into the direction, I think that's pretty evident. Not caring for the decisions made, doesn't mean no decision was made. The fact the guys are dressed very modern, and use magical versions of very old weaponry, and face against an army which is dressed very traditionally for an army, but use modern weaponry isn't a coincidence.

Yeah, you know, like Final Fantasy games.

Seriously, these posts of people new to the series are getting ridiculous.
