that blink ability in pvp is making me rage lol. my titan feels so slow compared to everyone else. i feel like one of those fat cabal dudes with their jetpacks.

I really wish there was a way to get back the Ascendant Shards or Energy from weapons/gear.

Maybe if you dismantled the item, you get back 50% of the shards or something? The way it is now, it makes me feel like I want to horde until I get the "perfect" gear, but then the next hour a better piece may drop for me, and I can't get the Energy out of that weapon I just fully upgraded.

Argghhh. Crucible is so frustrating. So many things are unbalanced. It's like Bungie really wants me to wait until they get more time to release a fucking patch.

There aren't really any incentives for having skill.

Skillful weapons:

Fusion Rifle
Hand Cannon
Scout Rifle

Un-skillful weapons:

Sniper rifle (the fucking game aims for you.)
Auto Rifle (what more should I say?)
Shotgun (............)

That's 3/6 weapons actually require skill, if you also include the sheer amount of people using the Un-skillful weapons it's even worse. I don't see Scout Rifles being used, and that "Hand Cannon buff" is rendered useless. The Fusion Rifle takes situation awareness to use, like charging before going around a corner, or before someone is coming around a corner.

The Sniper Rifle is OP because of the horrific aiming assist that they have on it. Landing headshots should be a rare thing due to the amount of movement that occurs during your typical game of Crucible. Auto Rifle is a fucking mess, It's just spray and hope to get a kill from it. (Which you will probably get if someone is using something besides it.) The AR should have a much higher recoil for what it's sending down range. The Shotgun needs to be reduced to a two shot kill like Halo, and they should make headshots one shot kill to give an incentive for aiming down the barrel. TO also incentivize aiming with the shotgun, they should increase the range for aiming.

Classes (Titan, Hunter, Warlock)

Titans are basically Unicorns in Crucible. People who don't play as them complain about their Fist of Havok super and how it's hard to kill a Titan while they're in the process of doing it. Fist of Havok is OP, yes I will say it, but I think you should think about what you have to do with it. If you want to do Fist of Havok and have effective usage, you have to jump into a crowd of people.... which is why it's so powerful. You're jumping into a group of people and some people in the crowd can survive it and kill you. You're placing yourself at risk. Now I do think that the FoH that you get at first should have it's damage toned down, and a more effective FoH should be unlocked at later levels. The Defender class for the Titan is probably one of the more balanced Sub-Classes out there. For better defense, you give up the ability for extreme offensive. The Grenades in the Defender class are much more practical compared to many of the other classes out there, and there comes the problem of balance issues. The Defender class grenades don't have enough AoE making them absolutely useless in some situations. The void grenade doesn't do much at all in some situations due to the AoE, and the Suppression grenade also has bad AoE. The magnetic grenade I can't comment on. Other than the grenades, Defender class is fairly balanced besides one other minor complaint.

Some of you will get pissed for me ripping into Hunters but this class is like a fucking plague to the game. One shot pistol super that can hit people across the map, and a subclass that can clean out many people in one attempt with no real counters.... Golden gun should lose velocity over time. I've gone against Hunters that used a Sniper and Golden Gun to take control over the Moon map. It's horrific. The round that it shoots should lose velocity if fired from massive distances. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the Golden Gun can shoot through multiple players and that shouldn't happen at all. The gun gives you the ability to insta-kill anything in a moments notice, why should it be able to kill multiple people with one round? The Blade Dancer is fucking trash. No player should be able to take a full Fusion Rifle shot to the face and still kill me.. for what the Hunter is being given, a complete shield should not be given. Other players are penalized because of their movement so if you have a Shotgun, Fusion Rifle, or a Hand Cannon, don't even try, you're going to die because of the shield that is granted. There should be a bigger cool down on the Blade Dance and Golden Gun Supers in general.

Warlocks have severely overpowered AoE within their abilities. The Warlock super is basically the Titan Super without the jump. Their grenades basically swallow up your life without the possibility of real escape. Combine that with the Auto Rifle, and you have a recipe for unbalance.

I'm not even going to start on the half assed areas Bungie calls maps.

TLDR; the game is broke. There are too many things that need to be fixed, but this is a start. I could sit here and write a whole dissertation on how broke it is so I guess it's best to stop now.

I wish reset would come along already so I could do the raid again with the ossibility of phat lewt. I'll get mats as per but it's the thought that counts.

are strikers useless for Raids? my heart weeps
Throughout most of the raid it's much better to have defender, but at the end striker can be very useful to
clean up the exploding harpies that come rushing at your team when you're trying to attack the final boss. You do have to make sure you set it up so you don't take as much damage while using it and that its aftermath sticks around longer. That way whatever enemies try to come toward you will either back off or at least be weakened when they're close.

Actually, you do; dismantling Legendary or Exotic gear gets you Ascendant whatevers.

Wait… You can just sit down and surf GAF near the farmers of the Christmas cave on earth and get all their loot...

Except that everyone else has that in mind and you end up spending hours AFK while the cave mobs run around doing nothing.

Happens every single goddamn time I've gone to the cave as I'm the only one killing those cave dwelling somfabitches! Everyone else just nudges their character every few min so they don't get kicked.

I mean the pieces of gear you already invested your Shards/Energy into. If you put 18 Shards on a Legendary chest, and then want a new chest -- can you get those 18 shards back in any way? Or does it just give you more armor parts when you dismantle?

Well, that's just it. There's no reward for your hard efforts. Meanwhile, people get last place in a PvP match and get exotics. That's not normal.
Er, there's a reward. You have to work to get to Vanguard Rank 2 and get enough marks to buy something (same thing with the other factions). You don't have to rely on loot strictly for leveling up. I'm almost to level 23 and buy time I'm at level 24 I'll be Vanguard Rank 3 where I can buy things!
"How'd you get that sweet helmet!?"
"Oh I replayed the same 4 strikes a hundred times and then I bought it from the store."

How epic.
If you don't like the game then don't play it.
What's even the point of putting story missions on harder difficulties if you don't even get anything for it?
Well, for me it's a lot of fun.

Finally got a full legandary armory set today. Had to buy all of it except the boots. They came from a rare loot drop. lvl 26 Hunter now. I have 3 legandary guns though from loot, 2 of which are basically the same LMG so that's kinda a disappointment.

I think it gives you a little bonus for each upgrade, but I haven't tested it yet; I'm not really happy with my Legendaries just now, so I'm waiting for something I really like to drop my Shards on.

Skillful weapons:

Fusion Rifle

Really ?

As far as I'm concerned it's barely better than the shotgun.

I should know, I use FR all the time in PVP. As soon as you aquire one that's decent enough you can pretty much instant-kill anyone that stands in your way. The only issue is the charge rate and that's not even up to you.

You get about 4-5 shards/energy back for dismantling fully upgraded legendary stuff.

We are just going in circles here.

So I'm clear, you are fine with the loot system in Destiny? You are fine with the fact that I can do 4 or more public events in an hour, plus bounties, killing tons of mobs, so having the same shot at loot as I would in a strike, but gaining 4x more marks and most likely more rep?

My point is Strikes need fixing. Your point seems to be Strikes are fine, and I'm seriously looking for a reason as to why.

I'm fine with the loot system in Destiny, yes. That there is an alternative to Strikes that can award more efficiently than strikes, I'm also ok with. Primarily because a lot of people simply don't enjoy strikes that much but also because most people won't think to learn to game the system in trying to time the Public Events for maximum return.

The point that I was making in my previous posts was that Strikes do have value. While the min/max crowd may consider them worthless because they have a more lucrative alternative, they aren't actually worthless. I find running Strikes more fun than farming Public Events and Patrol Beacons, so I consider that additional value alongside the rep and marks awarded.

Could they be adjusted to be more valuable? Sure. But then what reason would people have to actually Patrol the planets (taking into account a lot of people already don't like the Patrol Beacon missions)?

Wait… You can just sit down and surf GAF near the farmers of the Christmas cave on earth and get all their loot...

Not only do you get loot, but you also get experience, I am leveling a warlock right now just sitting there while playing my vita.

It requires a little more skill than the shotty; keeping it charged and controlling the recoil takes some skill.

people can pick up a shotty and do great with it. not so with fusion rifle. there's a learning curve

i'm still waiting for dax to say anything negative about this game, lol

Well, idling whilst my mate farmed with other folks netted me some nice stuff. A mote of light, two ascendant shards, another legendary scout rifle (that one with the name that's all random letters/numbers) and a strange coin. Pretty good haul for standing around for an hour. I watched tv instead.

EDIT: Make that three strange coins. Aw yis.

There are like five people shooting up the cave right now…

That right there is the wrong way of doing this. I didn't pick up the game to play "Let's grind rep for rewards". Bungie has this ass backwards. There should be very little rewards from a vendor and more from the bosses you kill or events you participate in.

What do you actually require to be able to progress right now...?

This is wrong. It's factually incorrect :( Did you read my guides? When you say 2 weeks I guess you must mean 8 days- for the reset/weekend vendor, I'm assuming- but even so, you can get quite far with the 200 marks available to you over the course of one week.

"Lucking" into progress is brutal in this game. It's not viable. Some people are lucky and get lucky, but for the most part, the average person can't come anywhere close to relying on rng for progression in destiny.

edit: ^there aren't a lot of useful comparisons to other games in terms of destiny's progression. it's obviously not that much like wow.

And yet, you said it yourself, the level 31 raid requires raid gear-which you have to luck into. So good luck getting a group of 6 people with raid sets in a timely progress.

2 more legendary engrams turned rare.

i think i've had 15 total. 2 were turned legendary. zero rares that turned legendary

beating a dead horse but come on, bungie. that's awful

Sunsinger in PvP isn't nearly as bad as titan shield for Control. But agreed, Nade spam is fucking amazing against bosses.

I still think my favorite Destiny moment is absolutely obliterating the Archon Priest with solar grenades just as he had cornered me and the rest of my fireteam was awaiting respawn.

Felt good man.

If anyone wants to crucible or whatever with a level 10 warlock, add me on psn. Would like to add some gaffers to my friends list. Be on in 5 mins. Im open to all friend requests!

Psn id: ilama

Well maybe I started PVP when my level was too high then.

I was getting my ass kicked with my scout rifle, then switched to a Level 16-17 Fusion Rifle. Instantly changed my life. I don't remember much of a learning curve except understanding that you want to find a FR that has the shortest charge rate possible.

Yeah he lost me with that lol

The Fusion Rifle is basically the anti-lag weapon of choice and hard counters the majority of the game.

and once again people completely neglect the the fact that hunters have the biggest risk/reward with their supers to go along with the crappiest orb production in the game by far.

i'm still waiting for dax to say anything negative about this game, lol
I've made plenty of criticisms about the game.
That right there is the wrong way of doing this. I didn't pick up the game to play "Let's grind rep for rewards". Bungie has this ass backwards. There should be very little rewards from a vendor and more from the bosses you kill or events you participate in.
But, again, my point was that you *don't* have to grind, from my experience. I'm just playing the game like I normally would and I'm gaining light/experience enough to increase my level. I do agree that Bungie should modify the loot system to offer more consistent rewards for defeating bosses – you shouldn't have to rely solely on vendors to gain levels – but that's not what I originally took issue with.

TLDR; the game is broke. There are too many things that need to be fixed, but this is a start. I could sit here and write a whole dissertation on how broke it is so I guess it's best to stop now.

Nah bro I think you are off with the class part. Everyone complain about the classes they aren't.

If you don't like the game then don't play it.

Well, for me it's a lot of fun.
Good for you. But that doesn't change my point.
