You guys really think were getting an entire planet worth of content? I wouldn't be surprised if it was just like select mercury and you get dropped off in a linear underground area.

But it SHOULD be new areas. Skyrim added entire new areas with its DLC.

Yeah, and a decent chance at an Exotic.

For 26 you're gonna have a hard time with the first section of the Strike, especially dealing with all the Wizards and the Arc shielded Knights. Void Burn is active so Void weapons work well. I suggest having someone who's dedicated to dropping Knight shields and then someone else can mop them up with Void weapons. As for the Wizards, use Gjallarhorn if you got it, or a Solar Heavy then mop them up with Void after.

After that it's pretty easy if you follow this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ymOMHLxxGo

Awesome, thanks for this!

They certainly do not need to. It is merely a path of least resistance and still relies on multiple dice rolls. Unless I'm misunderstanding something could one not spend hours there without getting anything of use?

I spent a good 2 hours farming the Temple of Crotta entrance or whatever it's called and got nothing but a handful of blue engrams, and other useless greens. It's just as big a dice roll I think.

There will be a mass exodus if they patch out the loot cave.

The game is not good enough and does not have enough content to keep people. The loot cave allows people to rank up to play the tiny bit of "additional" higher rank content.

They should focus on fixing the game first. Make the loot system work properly, add in trading with friends, and do something about the abysmal repetitiveness of everything.

If Bungie wanted the cave patched, I don't think it would have lasted this long. Look how fast they fixed the strange coin thing with Xur.

There are some locked areas in the base game that I think will. Be unlocked around expansion time.

I think some of the areas in Old Russia that are locked up right now will open up free of charge. The Jovian Complex in particular is listed as a Strike, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was connected to The Hidden Swarm Hive faction you find putzing about the Forgotten Shore and The Grottos. The Seraphim Vault in particular (via Bunker RAS-2) would likely be another Raid site since Bungie likes that name; "Vault of Glass", "Seraphim Vault" (Earth), "Charlamagne's Vault" (Mars), and I'm sure there's one on the Moon as well. Whether those other places (if they are Raid locations) are connected to incoming DLC is unknown.

Also, there are a few story missions that seemed tied to the Queen. Whether those are unlocked as part of her bounties this week's Queen's Wrath event, is anybody's guess.

Edit: Post below reminded me that House of Wolves is actually Expansion #2, so those story missions are likely that, which is too bad since I'd really like to go to another planet location for at least one of the expansions. Love me some ghost hunting on Patrol :)

Without question. And it's an easy fix. Have mobs spawn less frequently. In reality, the fix should be that high level loot cannot drop from level 5 mobs. That part is a big nonsensical to me.

Better loot should scale with higher level mobs.

We should also get one high level zone, 24+ to patrol and do bounties in.

So only the good players should get good rewards? That's a great way to lose 80% of your customers in a game. If they did that this game would be empty except for tryhards in less than a month.
I've finished first in PvP many times and never gotten anything good... I find it hilarious and it's a fair system. It's random.
Being first is the reward

Good players make for good raiders, why shouldnt they get gear quicker to see some progression from their efforts. No idea where you got the idea I think "only" good players should net loot.

Because it makes more sense to develop a brand new game from scratch when the first one took 6 years, and get a one-time $60 sale than to simply keep adding content to an existing game and get $20 every 3 months? Ok.

"This singular game as it exists now isn't going to last 8 to 10 years". Fine, nobody disagrees. I take it you don't have much background with MMOs though, because the game in 2-3 years is going to be much different than the agme now.

Nah man, first off, this isn't a (normal) MMO. Don't expect Destiny 1 to last more than a few years. Not only because it's not an MMO, but because they have already planned like 3 or 4 games, with two or three expansions every six months in between each.

That's the framework they laid out with Activision, and while some details of the original contract have likely changed, I'm betting the release schedule is prettty much the same.

Going to disagree with this, trading would be the worst thing to ever happen to the game.

I actually agree. I'm okay with coming in first and sometimes not getting anything. If the bad players are not feeling rewarded for their time then there will eventually be no players compete with. Though, after the latest weekly update it seems like Bungie will be addressing the PVP loot stream. I hope it doesn't get neutered.

well, tomorrow morning is a patch so I doubt the cave will last past today

There is a patch tomorrow??

Did you guys know about this? Supposedly it's all in the games files.

STORY
HOUSE OF WOLVES
Gone to Ground
Find a Wolves Baron and his conspirators who have betrayed the Queen and are hiding in the Cosmodrome.
Wolves Harvest
Track down the Queen's traitorous Wolves and recover what they've stolen from the Awoken.
The Citadel
Ascend to the top of the Vex stronghold on Venus and assassinate the Wolves' Kell.

I believe those will be in the second expansion (and, by the looks of it, as some of those things appeared in earlier trailers, it's cut content)

DARK BELOW
The Veil Lifted
Root out the Hive beneath the Cosmodrome and discover a long-hidden secret of the Golden Age.
The Seeding
Investigate the return of ancient Hive Wizards, preparing Earth for Crota's reign.
The Wakening
Stop the Hive from summoning Crota and consuming our worlds.

Again, it seems like cut content. Does the Veil blurb relate to Rasputin?

There's also mention of a strike:
The Jovian Complex
A new Hive brood gathers its strength beneath the Cosmodrome. Find their master and purge them all.
And another one:
The Hypogeum
The resurrection of the Black Garden has begun. Stop the Vex before the Garden's heart beats again.

And the raids...
Crota's End
and an unnamed "Reef Raid'.

If itr's old news, sorry, it's so hard to keep up with this thread ;)

They've already "fixed" one of the loot farm areas

I doubt people are going to stop playing because a place where they can stand there and shoot while not aiming is going to be patched

Honestly, the loot system is fine, ya'll should be focusing on earning vanguard marks and crucible marks for gear

Yeah, but that one is REALLY a bullshitty exploit. They clearly want you to really work for those exotics unless of course you're part of the 1% that stumbles upon one randomly.

yeah 100 marks is stupid.. :/ thats only about 30 games min.... for me the pve is really stale in this game and PVP is all I'll be playing mostly down the road...

After you have a set of legendary from crucible marks though, what is the point of those?

I capped my crucible marks earlier this week and guess what... I still played crucible, because fun. WHOA!

Here's hoping those aren't only for Crucible maps.

Just imagine the gorgeous skybox on Jupiter and Saturns moons Io and Titan, bricks will be shat.

These maps are definite though, may be paid DLC but they will definitely happen.

I'd say Mercury is next since it's already in the game.

im pretty sure their going to patch in the new content we get this week

so im assuming some type of patch is coming

They certainly do not need to. It is merely a path of least resistance and still relies on multiple dice rolls. Unless I'm misunderstanding something could one not spend hours there without getting anything of use?

This is true, but I can completely see why someone would rather spend an 1-3 hours at the cave and pretty much be guaranteed multiple engram drops, vs doing Strikes and getting a few engrams and MAYBE a valuable "mission end" engram.

No guaranteed drops from bosses or minibosses is pretty disheartening.

EDIT: This. I don't think the rolls should be removed or anything like that, but bad rolls after difficult strikes or legendary gear that doesn't look unique is just...bad.

As what...? I'm referring to farming for engrams in general

:-/ and marks, to buy the exact gear they need to impact their progression the most significantly.

my point was, say you do 3 hours and you do get 20 engrams, nothing but random chance insulates you from all 20 being non-usable or non-upgrades.
No guaranteed drops from bosses or minibosses is pretty disheartening.
that's valid, though. I get the need to have the actual drop as a motivator.

Can't tell is sarcasm or not.

Cave farmers finding actual gameplay repetitive. lol

Stupid Question, is Cave Farming better to just wait until you are level 20? I am level 18, but only want to do it for the gear and loot.

You won't get what you are specifically looking for. Cave farming loot is the bonus on top of XP and leveling up cryptarch, and easily completing bounties. Most purple engrams turn into blue items. many blue engrams will be worse than what you have. If you expect any different, you'll be disappointed.

And I farm a decent amount, so I'm no farmer hater. :)

Haha, nailed it.

Funny, I didn't farm and I'm able to do all the high-level stuff. How? Because I actually played the game and didn't spend $60 to shoot into a cave endlessly. So ridiculous. I honestly don't even know how to respond to his comment without coming off as a huge dick... a 100% correct dick, but still a dick.

Oh noes.

But I do hope they patch the game so that greys drop zero loot, and loot rarity scales with level and difficulty. And damnit, engrams should not be able to degrade in rarity, ever. Somebody smack whoever came up with that one. Then smack them again. Preferrably the smacks should come after a hug feint. Both of them.

And is it just my luck or do story missions provide zero rewards? Since hitting 20 we've taken to mixing the strike playlist and story missions on harder difficulties just for some variety, but none us has seen a single reward in the end-of-mission activity rewards screen.

So we are going to have to buy this planet right? Do you think Bungie will release this for free Ghaleon?

Depends on the game's success and its legs I would guess. Nobody thought a while ago Microsoft would be selling Xbox Ones at a cut rate with free games. If the game is selling poorly or people are leaving I would expect free content to increase while the opposite can also be said.
