PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | September 2014

I played through about 20 of the 40 missions on pc, and while the environments don't change, the missions themselves are pretty unique. They also slowly introduce new units as you progress. The multiplayer is what is going to give this thing legs. Does anyone know if red alert expansion is included as well?

Oh, see I was worried about that. I'm not into multiplayer games at all, i'm more of a Disgaea, FFT, TO kind of player who wants grinding, stats, abilities and stuff. Not saying thats a bad game, just not my cup of tea. I may still give this a shot but unfortunately may wait for a deep discount then or maybe PS plus game.

Edit: OH muhahaha, top of page. Haven't had this in a long time...let's see. I choose CORPSE PARTY! Why? Because why not and its getting close to Halloween. Now excuse me while I go butter my pooper.

I'm getting the Vita version as digital for convenience's sake, but that cute cheerleader boxart is tempting. Maybe I'll get the PS3 version later.

This is for baekshi's ghost.

See? They're trying. Or at least they're saying that they're trying.

PS3 version is Ukiyo no Shishi (憂世ノ志士) and Vita version is Ukiyo no Roushi (憂世ノ浪士).

I can't believe they actually announced a game by saying it's not another game at the pre-tgs.

Nice. Guess I'll hold of on getting the vanilla version.

What else is confirmed for retail NA/EU in 2015?

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2
Oreshika (?)
Tokyo Twilight
Toukiden Kiwami

Anything else?

Toukiden isn't confirmed for a retail release.

Criminal Girls: Invite Only is retail in 2015.

Persona 4: Dancing all night is coming in 2015. No idea if physical or digital only.

Otherwise, we're a little thin on the ground at the moment. I'm hopeful that DanganRonpa: Another Episode (NISA) and Corpse Party: Blood Drive (XSEED) will be announced. I can see more Neptunia stuff coming across too.

I wouldn't let it deter you, assuming the price is reasonable, as the strategy and tactics of the game are well worth it, quite unlike anything else. I love those other games as well, and I think you'd truly enjoy the single player experience.

Criminal Girls.

Haha, totally forgot about that one.

I could see Persona 4 getting a retail release.

Also, yeah I'd be surprised if we didn't get Neptunia U or the Black Heart game. Wonder if IFI will continue to handle the localization or if they'll pass some off to NISA. Three games seems like a lot for a small company.

Anyone picking up frozen synapse or defense grid 2 today?

I want both but am definitely picking up Frozen Synapse. I played the original version on PC and loved it. It's basically a turn/phase based combat simulator. Each turn you move all your characters, controlling their exact path, their exact facing, etc. and can then test it till you have it exactly to your liking before committing. Tons of tactics, as you need to learn how to advance fire teams through doors, buildings, around corners, etc. with different weapons and against different enemies.

For the guy worried it's an MP game - it's single player on PC was great, I never played it MP. Though it sounds like they created a robust 'take your turn whenever' MP system, where you can have multiple games going and will get notified whenever it's your turn, like if you were playing chess online. Sounds great.

Defense Grid was a fantastic tower defense game, and while I want to throw money at it, I'm not sure I can afford to this week.

Honestly i'm not trying to sell the game to you or any other, because imo very few people would be able to go through its faults and see the (many)good things it has
...
VK3 is not a looker but Vita got worse looking games that graphics-wise were not as destroyed as Vk3, as i have already said VK3 is an easy target for the ignorant hate.

You long ago sold me on it. I'm just waiting to find it sub $15.

I haven't played GA yet but unit 13 is the only game I dropped out of almost 30 Vita games finished. I seriously hope GA is better

Glad to hear a lot of you seem to love Unit 13 as much as I do. Fun wise, it's actually one of my favorite Vita games.

I'm hopeful that DanganRonpa: Another Episode (NISA) and Corpse Party: Blood Drive (XSEED) will be announced.

I will be very sad if either of those doesn't get localized. They both seem like fairly safe bets but the sooner we get confirmation the better.

Also, I really hope Blood Drive will get a physical release. Does anyone know why the previous Corpse Party games were digital only? I'm assuming it's because they were late releases and it was impractical to have a physical run. Or were they simply too niche to justify the costs?

Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not Thief is a good deal at $17.99

I just bought Murder: Soul Suspect because I'm a fan of paranormal/detective stories but the bad reviews kept me from paying full price. Thief reminds me a little of Dishonored, which I liked, but reviews are very poor. I've never played a Thief game.

It is a very disappointing game. Gameplay is bad , Performance is Bad but the art style is great.

VK3 is a dangerous bet, don't tell me i haven't warned you lol!
In any case if you buy it for cheap there should be no big problems.

I liked Unit 13 too, not my favorite Vita game(i'm not too much into tps/fps after all) but an overlooked and underrated game for sure.

Tabata wants to make a new Dissidia
[citation needed]
on Vita
if there is enough demand.

I don't get why companies say this anymore. I don't recall the last time, operation rainfall aside, this has ever resulted in anything, and Nintendo basically pretended operation rainfall was an abject failure after making it Gamestop exclusive and apparently making so few Xenoblade prints that they still run $40-$50 used. I sighed the Xenosaga HD petition but I basically assume devs are just fucking with people at this point.

Didn't he say the same thing time ago?

In any case I and many other Vita owners did ANYTHING to get Type 0 on Vita and we all know the result, i demand guarantees before even starting anything.

EDIT:
It was not him

Hey now, Arcana Heart is a legit good game. Made by fighting game veterans Examu (formerly Yuki Enterprises), and ported to consoles by even more significant fighting game veterans Arc System Works (including their god-tier netcode).

It's name has 5 exclamation points I'm considering buying a physical copy just for that. Will probably wait until it drops in price though. Don't forget, the floor is lava

The alt boxart should be an even better reason to buy a physical copy

Ya that is what I am thinking as well....may just wait a few months and see if it drops on Amazon. May trade some stuff in for it though...

Considering you decided to buy SAO, I just don't know what to say about your taste anymore

Why you hate me Chilly whyyyy

I thought the cheerleader one was THE boxart. Is it reversible or something?

Also the game seemed legitimately interesting (for some reason I bought AH3 on PSN) but quite complex and Skullgirls is about all I have the interest/time to learn/play.

What's with Team17 overcharging for every game they create? I was kind of interested in Flockers but for $24.99...lmao yea right.

In Japan yes. For here they apparently chickened out and decided to make a generic boring one, with the cheerleader art being relegated to the reversible alternate.

Looks like Assassins Creed and Atlus sales incoming. They were momentarily in the Weekly Deals section but then gone when I refreshed.

When was the last time we went a week without people finding these ahead of time due to stuff like this? They have to be able to handle this better...
