Hamilton is there for another season still. Mercedes has way more leverage this time around going into contract negotiations, so likely they are applying some pressure like this.
They'll work it out I gather. Still I think it would interesting to see Hamilton at Ferrari later. Preferably teamed up with Vettel.

Because Mercedes is "rich but unobtrusive" not in your face like Hamilton. Also they want someone who is austere - combination of both is Alonso. That's what the article states.
It is widely rumoured that Hamilton would leave Mercedes upon winning the WDC and bring the No. 1 with him somewhere else. Those rumours erupted following the controversies in Hungary and Spa.

If Alonso leaves for McLaren, best bet is they will make a big money move for Vettel who has made noises about wanting to drive for Ferrari and I'm sure would want a bigger base salary compared to the incentives laden contract he has with Red Bull....he can't be making that much money this year considering the lack of wins
Question is that is it for 2015 or 2016? If it's for 2016 then sign Hulk/Bianchi next year and then replace Kimi with Vettel in 2016

Id love to see Alonso in a Red Bull and Seb in a Ferrari. Vettel/Bianchi at Ferrari, Fernando/Ricciardo at Red Bull.

I thought it was funny when the "Join the conversation" and "#SingaporeGP" tags came up on the world feed during last weekend's race. We've had Toto and other team principals urging F1 to embrace social media and F1's concession is to stick a little box in the corner two times in a race telling us to join the conversation.

There are only 2[3?] drivers on the grid that you'd want in your can in a dog fight next year when Redbull is fighting for wins and the others are at your heels waiting for scraps, and Nico has proven that he isn't your guy. Lewis, Alonso and maybe Ricciardo. Lewis isn't going anywhere next year. Alonso may leave Ferarri before next year, but I'd say 2016 is the safer bet. Vettel is staying at RBR. the only switch ups going into next season are the midfield drivers. The driver shifting in 2016 is heavily reliant on how good that McLaren/Honda is, and Alonso finally giving up on that Ferrari title.

If Ferrari have got their hands on some Audi specialists then they may very well end up with one hell of an engine.
They are bringing "top" engineers for last 5 years...
Mercedes and Renault are meanwhile standing still and not doing anything for their engines for 2015, right?

Re: Ferrari engine: most (if not all) key Mercedes HPP personnel are in long-term iron-clad contracts. So whatever engineers they might have poached from Mercedes are low/mid-level employees.

I can see Danny fighting for it next year tbh. Renault will have made some improvements to the engine so it could be a lot closer next year as we already know the chassis is good.
