As for Schumi Jr. why not? Nico Rosberg is doing pretty well for himself, as did guys like Villeneuve and Hill. And Max Verstappen, of course.

Go for it Micky.

Hamilton is there for another season still. Mercedes has way more leverage this time around going into contract negotiations, so likely they are applying some pressure like this.

They'll work it out I gather. Still I think it would interesting to see Hamilton at Ferrari later. Preferably teamed up with Vettel.

I don't see them kicking Lewis out, that would be crazy. If he ends up winning the WDC and then they don't keep him how bad would that look to everyone on the outside.

He bought a jet. A FUCKING JET. He should never be allowed in this sport again.

I cannot find any source for Lauda ever calling Alonso "the best driver" and with Lauda seemingly firmly in Hamilton's corner this all seems rather silly

It's in the article I posted.

That list has got to be biggest pile of bullshit ever assembled.

Especially the "sick of glitz and glamour style."

For one, that is EXACTLY the identity Mercedes want to portray as a premium car brand and secondly, what the fuck do they care what Lewis does with the money they pay him? If he wants to buy a jet, more power to him.

Spanish media, you so silly.

Because Mercedes is "rich but unobtrusive" not in your face like Hamilton. Also they want someone who is austere - combination of both is Alonso. That's what the article states.

It is widely rumoured that Hamilton would leave Mercedes upon winning the WDC and bring the No. 1 with him somewhere else. Those rumours erupted following the controversies in Hungary and Spa.

Lol....Hamilton wins the WDC and takes the no.1 to Ferrari? It's not going to happen

If Alonso leaves for McLaren, best bet is they will make a big money move for Vettel who has made noises about wanting to drive for Ferrari and I'm sure would want a bigger base salary compared to the incentives laden contract he has with Red Bull....he can't be making that much money this year considering the lack of wins

Question is that is it for 2015 or 2016? If it's for 2016 then sign Hulk/Bianchi next year and then replace Kimi with Vettel in 2016

They should probably tell actual Mercedes drivers this.

There is no source in the article. Unless you're referring to the article as the source itself, in which case...

surely it looks like Lauda has the lovein with Lewis. He sought him out, always back him up.

I actually almost felt bad for Rosberg the way they were praising Hamilton for example the quotes from the actual post race invterviews in the article below

Supposedly he's got a very big base salary now.

2015 Ferrari engine to be quite strong.

Per TJ13

http://thejudge13.com/#Ferrari 2015 engine tested

Ferrari’s 2015 Power Unit has been tested already

Following what can only be described as a catastrophic year in terms of results, Ferrari have recently run the 2015 power unit codenamed 059/4. The design team have found another 40 bhp over this year’s design but have the ambitious goal of finding another 60 bhp before the homologation freeze in February.

The inherent errors in the basic architecture have been recognised and addressed with the new version – which is being overseen by Mattia Binotto’s engine department with chief designer Lorenzo Sassi working hard to bring Ferrari back to the head of the field.

James Allison has requested a configuration that is less extreme than the current design; including moving the oil tank from inside the gearbox to the classic configuration between the chassis and the engine – thus improving the weight distribution and traction qualities of the new Maranello challenger.

Despite Ferrari, Renault and Honda seeking to open up the engine freeze rules next year, the teams are aware that this is not a given so everything is being scheduled for completion by the time the homologation freeze comes in at the end of February.

What is undoubtedly helping the Ferrari design team are the specialists who have arrived from both Mercedes and Audi – technicians who have been responsible for their previous companies respective hybrid systems.

Allied to this is the work that continues at Shell who have not been able to use a new fuel they have developed because of reliability issues with the current power train. This new chemical technology has been formulated from the lead of Petronas, Mercedes’ fuel supplier, which makes the fuel denser and brings about benefits in efficiency, power and volume.

With Ferrari having been promised no restriction on budget, it remains to be seen if these improvements allow for more than an occasional visit to the podium…

- Briatore called old friend Lauda
- Alonso set to replace Lewis who has decided not to renew his contract
- Mercedes sick of Lewis's glitz and glamour style (citing the purchase of the $25m private jet upon signing for Mercedes)
- Lauda love affair with Alonso ("by far the best driver")
- Most likely swap is Hamilton-Alonso and not Vettel-Alonso as RBR will fight tooth and nail to keep Vettel

Sounds like an absolute load of shite, frankly.

Lauda loves Hamilton.

There are only 2[3?] drivers on the grid that you'd want in your can in a dog fight next year when Redbull is fighting for wins and the others are at your heels waiting for scraps, and Nico has proven that he isn't your guy. Lewis, Alonso and maybe Ricciardo. Lewis isn't going anywhere next year. Alonso may leave Ferarri before next year, but I'd say 2016 is the safer bet. Vettel is staying at RBR. the only switch ups going into next season are the midfield drivers. The driver shifting in 2016 is heavily reliant on how good that McLaren/Honda is, and Alonso finally giving up on that Ferrari title.

he says it all the time as a commentator for RTL (german tv).

interesting to see schumi jr. racing. I remember an old interview with Schumacher where he said he doesn't want his children to race.

If Ferrari have got their hands on some Audi specialists then they may very well end up with one hell of an engine.
They are bringing "top" engineers for last 5 years...
Mercedes and Renault are meanwhile standing still and not doing anything for their engines for 2015, right?

I know. Just posted this for the lulz.

Re: Ferrari engine: most (if not all) key Mercedes HPP personnel are in long-term iron-clad contracts. So whatever engineers they might have poached from Mercedes are low/mid-level employees.

IF HAM was about to sail away, wouldn´t one assume the team, especially Lauda, would know this, and react accordingly? Like slanting the table? The last two races, and the following quotes speak a different language, wouldn´t you agree?

Why the negativity Ferrari are finally going to fix the wind tunnel for next season, right right

Wonder how much better Merc can make that engine for next year.

Just lulling into a false sense of security.

He's going to win the WDC and then they'll only offer him £5 a race and some spinners for next year's car, because they'll be in the driving seat and able to make him drive for nothing. Well known fact.

Unlike all the other world Champions who have been in a great position to get what they want because, well, they are the world champion.

Maybe he's just keeping his cards close to his chest?

How did McLaren treat Lewis in the run up to The Decision (despite them knowing odds of him bolting were high)?

These people are running businesses, they aren't going to be playing games to prove points about next year when there are championships at stake.

Sorry I just died laughing. Are they writing fan-fiction about F1 teams, or about charity organizations? :p

Id love to see Alonso in a Red Bull and Seb in a Ferrari. Vettel/Bianchi at Ferrari, Fernando/Ricciardo at Red Bull.
If Vettel struggles to podium a car that his rookie teammate can take to three wins, I can't wait to see how well he does in the turd that is Ferrari.

Yes, I'd love to see it the other way around. Alonso WDCx4 (unless Danny gets there first).

I can see Danny fighting for it next year tbh. Renault will have made some improvements to the engine so it could be a lot closer next year as we already know the chassis is good.

Honestly, why would any of these drivers leave their respective teams for a team that hasn't been champion for 7 years. It would make no sense, they're all in superior (or at the very least, equal) teams already.

He got the free-bj-anytime treatment. Still Lauda made the difference. AFAIK there has been no fallout between the two, quite contrary. See Lauda post-Spa remarks. And how Monza went.

For the FER rumors: so the LOI has some hooks built in... good to know.

Alonso to Mercedes makes 0 sense, why would Nico or Lewis leave?

Alonso to McLaren or RBR is way more interesting, and Vettel to Ferrari is completely plausible.

Imagine Vettel going to Ferrari and winning the champ first year lol

Maybe they know something like what Hamilton knew when switching to Mercedes. That or a really fat paycheck.
