I wish I could have kept up with Doomed but it was too many issues over too many high priced books. It was Doomed from the get go.

I can save you time and money:

Supes was wrestling with Doomsday IN HIS MIND, went to space to chill, blew up a planet kinda. Meanwhile Brainiac came back, but only now he's different again because we never knew the real Brainiac (I wonder if this ties in with Future's End and the new Brainiac there). Lana fancies Steel. Wondy is sad.

Futures End: Booster Gold; my main man is back! :D Can't wait to read this issue after I finish my assignment. I'm surprised that the issue begins right where his last appearance left off: Justice League International Annual #1. I hope enough people buy this issue that DC are convinced to launch a new Booster on-going.

Start reading Justice League 3000. Giffen announced that

The Pre-Nu-52 Blue and Gold were joining the team. Not a dream, not an imaginary tale and one of them has definitely not been shot in the head

Really small week for me. Saga will probably be good like always. Hopefully we see more of the fallout from last issue.

What are the bets on something gratuitous on the first page?

Has it been confirmed their THE pre-52 versions? Or versions who never went through the Max Lord stuff?

Giffen said that it is their version from the 80's. The "Bwa-ha-ha" versions so to speak. So the versions who never went through the Max Lord and Rip Hunter stuff.

Edit:
The glorious final page from Doomed 2:

Giffen didn't try to hide it or use clever language. He also said

The last thing they remember is Max was mad at them again. As above he also said it's the Bwahaha pair and we should consider it a new volume of "I can't believe it's not the Justice League"

I've been reading the title since the start and despite wavering about dropping it early on I'm pleased I didn't. It's been a slow burn but finally the characters are starting to mellow and become more likeable.

...

They all but confirmed that the Booster Gold was from the pre-Flashpoint timeline. I'd say that was a pretty big twist.

I may be remebering wrong but
I thought that was always the case with Booster Gold, even when he showed up into the N52, he remembered things from the old Universe.

Ah. Cheers. Can't wait. :)

Kinda. The JLI version didn't (but retained his post Infinite Crisis relationship with Batman. The All Star Western stuff was ambiguous, but paid off with FE BG,

DC is such a wonderful car crash right now, I'm even beyond the point of being upset at being alienated after 20 years of buying their books. It's just hilarious to see how much they can ruin everything. I do love some schadenfreude.

Harley Quinn Future's End #1. Meh. I guess that was an issue. Getting a bit tired of Harley saying something along the lines of holey moley every second line. Also Holy shit this was a text heavy issue. Joker didn't feel like Joker to me. It didn't feel believable to me at all. The art was good to decent as usual. Bit let down by this issue. It was fine but I was expecting better :(

If you want to be specific, I miss the period 1998-2010. Golden age of modern DC. Starman and Moz JLA were good 90s but otherwise Vertigo had that decade sewn up. But DC was killing it in the 00s.

I wouldn't personally consider Identity Crisis or Countdown as part of their best, though.

Jedeye are you just mad that our threads DC readers aren't fightin' with you anymore? I've gotten the impression through several posts that you really wanna fight something fierce but you're being frustrated by polite smiles and nods. Are we killing you with kindness?

Good god,,, my pull list next week is over $60. I need to get this under control lol

My Batman Black & White Greg Capullo statue is a comin:))

Yeah but events are shit, you should learn this in your first year of being a comics nerd.

But we had amazing runs on Batman (No Man's Land! Rucka, Brubaker and Vaughan all at the same time! Gotham Central! Hush...? Morrison's run! Dini's run!), Superman (Johns' entire run plus the New Krypton stuff), 52, Green Lantern, Flash, JSA (!!), Checkmate (!!!). Even Infinite Crisis was pretty good. Final Crisis was pretty neat, so was Seven Soldiers (I'm such a fanboy yeah). Plus DC was stealth publishing all that awesome Alan Moore ABC stuff and putting out some good stuff through Vertigo too. It was a good time.

No I'm just super bored at work this week and need something to write about. I like that we're not fighting any more. I don't want to fight, I just want to make words on the screen. I'm enjoying not liking some stuff.

Pretty much all my enthusiastic piss taking is directed at Future's End and that is all DC for this month. And now finding out Lobdell is writing their weird event thing is like getting a puppy for christmas.

You DC readers are like broken at this point anyway, too tired and downtrodden to put up a spirited defense :P

Anyway, good comics - I'm 3/4 through Hickman's FF run and I'm sure that this is a top 5 run for me, could even be no 1 maybe. Just reached the climax of the story (those Celestials has me gasping and excitedly showing the mrs pages for the whole run! So cool!) and I love it so much. It's a book about family and parenthood and it's so beautiful. Massive ideas, intricate puzzle-esque plotting and a pure beating heart as big as the galaxy. Definitely Hickman's most human story so far.

See, I don't hate everything!

Damn.

That final issue of the first arc of Deadly Class is phenomenal. There is so much tension that things are ready to blow. God damn it if they kill any of my faves I will be devastated. Oh and
Marcus gets his ass absolutely HANDED to him.

Perfect way to end the first trade. Will buy the eventual hardcover deluxe editions. I know they did a hardcover for SDCC

Capullos Superman looks like Bruce in a Superman suit lol. Looking forward to the arc. Can't wait to see more of his Diana.

So the Futures End Red Lanterns book was pretty good, picked it up on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Soule delivered a fun story.

I really hope with Soule going Marvel exclusive next year that DC uses it as an opportunity to shake up the Lantern books again and get some quality writers on GL and GLC.

Scott Lobdell is writing Blood Moon? BWAHAHAHAHA
Still hoping someone competent takes over the bandage event. :-(

Damn I just noticed... both tim1138 and DeathyBoy ignored my posts while responding to the others. You bastards. ;_;

I think you mean "had". And yeah they used to be awesome didn't they?
Did someone from DC kill your cat or something? At this point you're starting to sound like the comic version of Derrick01 lmao

It killed 4 of them. Well I say killed, but it wiped one out of existence and turned one of them from black to white and then made it so I never even owned the other two.

I honestly don't particularly care, it's just comics. But I'm bored and there are posts to reply to, already stated as much on this page. Argue with me if you like, it's a good time and I still have an hour to kill.

All that hate.

IST shipped my big bundle of Transformers (plus the Sonic, Mega Man, and Wolverine & Jubilee that I tagged on)! So yay! Now I just need them to get me that last Hellboy Library Edition and we can be friends again...

Also to tag on a sort of OT musing: been reading Tegami Bachi lately, and man do I love it. So pretty!

What's wrong with the current crew of writers? I feel Green Lantern is the weakest title of that corner of the DCU, but Van Jensen has been killing it on GLC.

For me, it's been too many events. One corps destroying crisis after the other. Variety makes things more interesting, lets get some space cops walking the beat for a little while.
