The MC was just obsessed with her from the start for no real reason, even if the author had manage to explain why she should "win" it would still come off as a creepy start of the relation.
Even if the series had went longer I don't think we would have gotten any explanation of why Wagatsuma was the "better" choice, there was plenty of time for that during the manga, even if it did end abruptly, and instead Sylvia and Itou both got better scenes than her, Wagatsuma was just a plainly vanilla character either way you cut it.
The rushed ending didn't help though.

Well, that's fair, the series just never really proprely justified why it had to be Wagatsuma (Especially at the start)... I mean who would try to change the future after getting Sylvia?
I'd need a very good reason to be changing the future at that point.

It just seemed really one sided for this future "couple". Him having better rapports with the other girls just made it look like complete lunacy
And Nana to Koaru is cool if you dont mind the BDSM thing and the (at times) slow pacing/characterization. For something so fucking smutty those 2 are pure as hell.
