Got 30+ Coins and Motes since I held off from buying anything last week.

My body is ready for Xur.

Please no repeats, new gear plz.

it's telling when the biggest sense of "community" in this game is that of 5-7 guardians gathering around a cave. i've actually made a few friends during this and the events in between have kept it more interesting than most of the boss runs in this game. it also doesn't require much commitment, which makes it ideal, whereas the game likes to drop me from my strikes at the final boss and give me nothing.

seems like a missed opportunity to make light of it, like how the "wizard from the moon" line was turned into a t-shirt. instead of "correcting" the community for this behavior, bungie could turn it into an event. throw one randomly spawning "treasure cave" into the game every day - whether it's on old russia, the moon, or elsewhere - and have the community race to find it. this would facilitate exploration and social interaction, which their timegates and other deliberate design decisions have yet to match.

am ultimately not that phased about it, but i am concerned about the mindset they're approaching some of these things with.

Wtf. Did this thread become a platform in which people declare they don't want to play the game anymore? lol
The Queen giveth, the queen taketh away! I think we all needed a breather from our addiction and this was the straw that broke our back. I'm still optimistic about the game, but I'm past the new game smell phase.

didn't read the whole thread obviously but there is actually something to go for on the queen missions, I got a legendary sniper rifle called "The Supremacry" in my ~10th run of them and I didn't have a good one so it's cool for me

Its like a reverse D3 thread. That game got better with each patch, this game seems to be getting worse the longer it goes on for =\

I dunno about all that, considering this latest patch got rid of a method of farming that honestly had no place in the game. Though the cave was stupid in thought (you're shooting at a cave for hours), it was a result of how loot's handled in this game.

Bungie said the cave was a humbling experience. I'm guessing that means they didn't think about how to handle loot as deeply as they should've.

I shot into a cave for 10 minutes for mine. Very nice long epic journey right there.

My friend was consistently at the bottom of Crucible for 3 hours getting his.

I couldn't think of better stories.

LOL. I actually got mine from a random Legendary drop while doing a strike with a stranger. Time and Patience it's called, a sniper. My post about getting it is buried somewhere in OT4, much like Destiny's story is buried somewhere in the game's world.

I just read it as a way to say the writers should be ashamed. It's harsh but it's not a personal attack. "They should be ashamed for being a stinky poo-poo head" would be a personal attack (and would not be okay). Aren't the writers listed in the credits anyways?

If that's the way he meant it then I must have read it incorrectly. My apologies.

Edit: The writers are listed, but I don't think it says who did what.

I got 13 Coins and 23 Motes of light and no legendary armor. I'm gonna get Exotics from Xur before I get any legendaries...

This was the case for me. It doesn't bother me as much since you can only have one exotic armorpiece and weapon equipped at one time.

You kinda build your character around exotics, or at least I do. Legendary gear complement it well so I didn't mind this at all.

I was just watching Angry Joe's post-review discussion and I stumbled over the part where they talk about how the story used to be different and all that, at least it's rumored.

...and I just did a little research. In the time of this game's start of development until it was finished mostly all of the creative leads left Bungie. All the writers including Joseph Staten who is credited as "co-creator of the Destiny Universe" and the other two writers, Joshua Rubin and Dave Mongan... not to forget Marty O'Donnell - those people all left the company before the game was released.

Dear god, what the hell happened, and what the shit will Bungie even do for the next 10 years? Are the changes to musical vibes and writing-style already be apparent in the DLCs, or are those already on-disc, taken out of the full game to be scattered out over time and making Destiny in its current form feel incomplete?

Yeah, really. I feel like this is only going to get worse before it gets better too. If it even gets better at all, because I assume any real improvements will come in the 60 dollar sequel they want you to buy in 2 years.

It was a double hit whammy of Walters and Hudson. They also ran into a deadline time crunch.

This is the crap that Hudson and Walters came up with:

I wonder what was scribbled on a napkin over at Bungie's offices?

The level 22 Heroic Weekly was easier to solo than I expected. Now I am just 3 Coins away from 23 (if Xur happens to have a good Exotic Weapon this week).

Edit: The level 26 one was also fairly easy to solo.

Thats cool that you dont mind, but even just going off this thread, most people seem disappointed, which is the opposite of the D3 patch progression.

I agree that the cave needed fixing, even if I used it a bit. It's shit like nerfing dismantling the queens gear thats really stupid.

They really want us to keep playing, even though there isnt a monthly sub, they are trickling everything out, and fixing any shortcuts people are taking.

Its great that they dont want everyone to be done so quickly, but I think they are forgetting that people like to feel progression, and that is fun.

This game needs a lot more diverse loot, and more ways to get loot, or work towards it.

As soon as they fired Marty, I knew something was going wrong at Bungie. It shows really, infact Destiny's soundtrack is better than the game itself.

This is my hope as well. I'm not in the Destiny Hater camp, but seeing Sunbreakers in Xur's stock list this week would make me a Sad Panda.

You can only have one piece of exotic armor equipped at any given time? You can't have a full set?

God no. Wearing full exotic armor would be overpowered as hell. A Sunsinger with the Sunbreakers and Heart of Praxic Fire would be the worst thing in the world.

My story reminds me of Destiny's too! It's barely existent and not very logical.

Hey, maybe they thought these stories were epic stories??

Ahh. Just checking.

Last night, managed to get an exotic bounty for a "talking gun". First part was relatively easy: look for a random chest on Mars.

The second part however, while easy, I can't do... yet. I have to talk to Xur.
So just my luck, I had to get this stupid bounty in the middle of the week. *sigh*
