I need 3 coins to be able to buy something from Xur and I am level 22. I have already done the level 22 heroic strike this week. Besides a public event today and tomorrow, what is the best way for me to get the 3rd coin? Thanks.
 
Got the gun of my dreams from xur. Then I got the comedian from a legendary engram. Good day. I want that hunter helm from xur for radar but I've already got 3rd man helm. Oh well not enough coins.

I'm at the point in the game where I don't really care about legendary engram drops anymore. When you can do the nightfall and the raid you get good stuff pretty regularly. And doing the weekly gives you 9 strange coins so you can almost get something from Xur every week if you're doing PE and get lucky from blue engrams. Plus my Vanguard rank is almost to 3 now. Funny that there was about a one week period where I was obsessed with trying to find purple engrams.

I really was hoping that would be there this week. I got two exotic helm engrams instead. Both were exotic helms I either bought (third man) or found. Dismantling two exotic helms was crushing. I ended up spending coins on the knucklehead because at least it's pretty good for pvp and ok for gunslingers.

If you never did the Scourge of Winter story mission on Venus, you can get a strange coin.
 
PSA: If you start a daily heroic story before 2AM pacific and complete it after said time, you will not get the completion rewards (+2 ascendant materials for level 28). Thanks a lot, Bungie. Yes, I consider this an oversight.

How come when I'm with Destiny GAF I see everyone (me included) has a lot of the best gear and cool shit, but as soon as I leave my team ups with GAF any of my random encounters in the crucible and overworld everyone has shit gear?

Man, thats rough :( I want to spend the motes and try, but the shot at me getting it is so slim. And I really don't want the splinter cell helm since I don't like blade dancer at all.
 
Is there anyone who would like to help me with the Weekly Heroic Strike? Lvl 26 difficulty, I just need 6 strange coins to buy an exotic.

it just occurred to me that the devil walker is the most mechanically complex single "boss" in the game. it's its own thing rather than a bigger version of a regular monster. it has many destructible parts that weaken its attacks before exposing its core for critical damage. in spite of these weaknesses and its restricted lateral movement, it has a diverse armament making it a threat to multiple players simultaneously.

it may not be as visually interesting as some of the others, but i'm finding that it's the only bullet sponge with a degree of thought put into it.

exotic items have special mods you will not find on any other item.
if you could combine them, it would be hilariously strong. instead limiting it to 1 means people can come up with builds surrounding one item/special skill.

This is pretty much what I'm doing this weekend. Only need a couple more Motes of Light to buy my Exotic lotto ticket. Not a fan of the way that Warlock helmet looks, so I'm saving my coins for next week.

I kinda wish we could get trade-in value for weapons (and armor too, why the hell not) from vendors. Fully leveled is worth more than un-or-partially leveled. Give some much-needed life to those vendors, especially if you could haggle and sweeten the deal with some of your inventory that they may need.

I have an irrational fear of this, yes. That I will want to dismantle a green, but the cursor will be a little too far over and dismantle the wrong thing. Hasn't happened yet.

You're right. I'd mention the Nexus and the raid bosses somewhat, but Devil Walker has a bit more mechanics though he's easier than the rest I mentioned.

Ever play the Metroid Prime series? I don't see why bosses made similar to those in the MP series couldn't be in Destiny.

So if I already did the weekly strike on the highest level and got the 9 coins, can I do it on the lowest level and still get 3 more coins?

Is that the same weapon that you can buy from the Vanguard? That is what I will be after when I hit Level 3. Based on my luck with this game though, there is no way I'll be getting a Scout rifle through the mail. More likely a spoon or a blue Fusion rifle!

Fair enough. However, isn't one of the points of the exotic is that you can show off a cool piece of armor? Why is there no transmute?

GOD BLESS RNGESUS!

I went and tried my luck on the helmet engram and I got The Mask of The Third Man I was having such shitty luck with RNG and not having any legendary armor I was going to switch my class because I hated this character. God bless, I only use my bladedancer Hunter and this is exactly what I wanted. Now time to save up all my coin for Hard Light, or if I'm lucky I will get it in a drop. BELIEVE!

Any reason I wouldn't get rewards at the end of Story missions?

I'm level 21 and have finished the story, but I used the Heroic story mode (i think, the one on the left hand side) which had me killing the Wizard. I've done to twice through and get nothing for it, as i thought the first one might be a mistake.

I also just completed a Mission on Mars I hadn't done before, just to finish them all off. I put it in Hard mode, and again didn't get anything for it.

Anyone seen that before? unsure why I'm getting nothing for them.
