Damn totally reminds me of NFS HP 2010 sure a bit more arcade but those cars handled one of the best i coul drift forever for example or take tight corners with ease.

Well, just preordered. Was gonna wait and see but this game looks too damn good.
Nice. The reflections in the hood view are a bit excessive though.

There's normal races, time trials and drift challenges. Progression is like GT, within a level there's about 8 tournaments which are a mixture of the race types, and you progress to the next level by completing them. Each race appears to have bonus challenges, like beating average speed / clean lap, within them for extra points.
From watching the stream, I don't believe there's rubber banding. I think people just aren't as good at racing games as they think they are - barreling in to corners and drifting out, not using gears to accelerate past opponents - and some of the cars are just faster. In the single player, It looks like you can unlock faster cars for a race you couldn't win when you hit a higher level.

I hope there are long point-to-point races.
Most seem to last about 5 minutes or so. I think there is a special race in each location that combines two p2p tracks together

They're not mega long, 3-4 minutes from what we've seen. This is a racing game where you learn the tracks and challenge your mates, you're going to have to wait for a WRC for long point-to-points, with a co-driver telling you where the corners are.

Yeah there is no way Gran Turismo can go with any kind of prebaked anything now. Seeing the cockpit view, that dashboard, this lighting, yeah ... must all be implemented in GT.
Lighting is absolutely phenomenal. Everything looks so damn real.
Can't wait to get this onto my TV, with my surround kicked up, my woofer kicked up to 11 and fly around the tracks. Should be a hell of a time
Cockpit view will be my default view while racing I think. Just too good.

On a side note, in the video I'm pretty sure there's part of the track that featured in the Channel 4 advert, minus the Channel 4 structures of course!

the most impressive thing here may actually be the vegetation on the side of the road and those rocks. Everything looks very grounded, very real. A lot of times off the track details look .... bad. Here, everything has depth. It looks like a real place.
The entire scene just comes together perfectly.
Most photorealistic game I've ever seen.
And this is just the first go at the engine! Insanity. Now after release they get to go in and tweak this engine and push it even further.

Welp, IQ means the footage is clearly downsampled from a much higher resolution, so that's that.

Are you viewing those shots on a phone screen or something? The IQ is great, but it's not good enough to think that footage is downsampled.

No it's not. Look at the light on the right edge of the bumper of the Alfa Romeo on the 2nd pic. It shouldn't be as aliased if it was downsampled from 4K.
