New Driveclub gameplay

New time trial in India. These guys are releasing footage regularly. I guess we would see more locations and faster cars as they make progress.

The jaggies on power lines are definitely gone. India tracks were the worst affected with many criss crossing cables and were pretty obvious even on youtube. Not anymore.

I am getting worried that there are no replays in the game. I have not seen one single video with replay so far. Please let it have replays.

Perhaps with photo mode patch?

His capture device really ruins the image.. But the freaking sound is just sublime... I love the sound.

Also, whats with all the downsampling stuff, I mean who would do something like that to their game days before a release.. and then go.. oh.. sorry all, its really doesn't look this good, as it was running on 8 ps4's just for shit and giggles.

There's some crazy ass stuff going on.. oh wait.. DC thread....

Please don't act like the concerns are from people who are just trying to hate on DC.

It's understandable. Stuff like this is unprecedented in console games until this generation. It's not like we haven't been constantly fooled by publishers. So a little skepticism is welcome and necessary to ground others, like myself, who are easier to convince :D

Also note the rearview mirror....uhh, how is this playable as a racing game?

Actually I didn't notice that. The game is accurately reflecting the rearview mirror in day mode- using the high reflector. But because the player is not in line with the mirror, you're seeing the night time mode of the mirror using a reflectorized rear surface.

THAT IS INCREDIBLE. I have never seen that in a racing game before- not Forza, not Gran Turismo, not any of them. Insane. Great job cool_dude for pointing out how advanced this game really is graphically, I would have never caught that before!

Yup. Definitely seems like it. So it would require the player to explicitly look up with the right analog stick. Pretty cool.

We'll IMO, after the months of showing how this game has progressed, I hope people would have more faith in Evo..

While I agree with you, I can see how people would be skeptical. I mean, even Rushy said he was unsure of the genesis of the footage. The marketing arms of these companies have shown themselves to be out of touch with reality on a number of occasions. For that reason alone, I can see how downsampled footage could be released for no reason so close to release.

First game that came to my mind with the skepticism would be Gearbox Aliens.. well lets hope this doesn't turn into that. :)

We'll true, Sony would of had their hand deep in this.. guess we can wait to see if Rushy does respond. :)

One thin about the downsampling stuff. Downsampling isn't just for eliminating AA. Your increasing the overall resolution of the entire image so textures would get sharper, environment would look sharper, etc.

This new footage looks exactly like the old footage, just with more AA for the cleaner IQ. Everything else looks untouched though.

I'm on team #diswhatitis

So many layers of trackside detail.

Yeah I'm really glad to see the variety in India's tracks. Depending on where you are, the environment could be anywhere from extremely sterile to extremely vibrant. Check out the video I linked in this page. The first 2 minutes has the road inclined to the sky, so you can't really see any trackside details. It's pretty boring. And then it turns downhill and you get hit with towns, lakes, sprinklers and a staggering vista. Love that transition

I feel very strongly this isn't the response cool_dude was looking for...

Between this. Shadow of Mordor, and Alien Isolation, consoles are really getting some beautiful games this fall. This gen has arrived

I asked him earlier today, but I really don't expect an answer to that type of question. He's most likely incredibly busy and stressed out and I can't imagine he has the time or desire to track down the source and inquire about it just so he can answer a potentially loaded question on Twitter. He gets asked rude questions quite a bit on there and is always polite, but there is probably a line he's not willing to cross.

I think it's a glitch.

Yup, have been thinking the same thing.

The stuff that came out of Gamescom (esp. TTC & Wild) & TGS (I know it's not popular to say it but I think Deep down looks freaking amazing) I've for more buzz/hype for this gen than for the last at this point.

DC tho - Jesus this game looks freaking sublime. I know from watching I'm going to enjoy the handling, but the graphics...SO much attention to detail. I'm looking forward to seeing some amazing compositions in the photo thread - real through the headlights into the rain kinda stuff.

What's the free version of this game look like now? After seeing the video, I want it, but I could be satisfied with the ps plus version if it's not just a demo.

I thought Deep Down looked really good. It's got some strange look to it that is hard for me to distinguish.

ps4 is killin it with crazy graphic games

1 Location - 11 tracks (5 are mirrored I believe)
10 cars - 2 from each class

full online functionality, platinum trophy, can still do clubs etc. Eligible for free DLC? I don't know.

Why would you have to look up with the analogue stick to see a mirror that's already in frame? My guess is you flip the mirror back and forth with up and down swipes on the touch pad.

I think it's a glitch.

It's clearly showing two reflections, like you'd get from driving with the anti-glare during daylight. I'm reasonably sure it's a thing.

Not always.

Which is why I think it requires the player to look away from the road using the right stick, thereby adding an element of risk, like in a real racing situation.

Pure conjecture at this point.

The video is violently Spanish, evident by the narrator's accent.

I could translate this, but I'm lazy. Probably someone already did.

Nonetheless I think the PS brand needs more marketing in Spanish speaking countries! So this is good!
