Destiny |OT5| New patch out Tues., Master Rahool reportedly crying into his robes

would leaving engrams on the ground and having them go to the postmaster work out? you know, kinda like the faction/cryptarch mail?

I don't think so. Once an engram drops pre-patch, it'll be counted as a pre-patch engram, even if you avoid picking it up so it sits at the post master. Packages are different since they are not engrams yet. But we don't know if the package would become pre or post patch engrams. If the contents are determined at the time of receiving or if they are determined when you actually pick them up is the question. I hope it's the latter.

There is something I want to ask about and it related to random drops.

Do certain activities alter the probabilities of the quality of items that drop?

For instance, lets say I do the Level 8 Strike on Earth vs. The Nightfall Strike.

Is there a greater probability of getting greater item drops on the higher level Strike over the lower level one or is it always totally random? Have the developers commented on this?

Because it seems like I get my best drops just doing random lower level stuff.

The level of the activity seems largely irrelevant.

I absolutely love Gjallarhorn. It's amazing in PvP and PvE and so much fun to use. I think I've already posted about how much I love it - eek. I really do love Gjallarhorn.

So I have to complete 25 strikes for my first exotic weapon bounty, someone please tell me which as the quickest????

Honestly, I would just do vanguard tiger strikes, especially since the rewards are getting improved tomorrow. You need to see Xur to continue the quest chain after the 25 strikes anyway, so grinding through low level strikes right now won't really do you any good.

Regarding Arc Blade: I was playing on my bf's account to help him with a pvp bounty. I accidently activated Arc Blade while trying to throw a grenade and a punch (I was panicking). Never used a Bladedancer before. Haven't played a Hunter since the beta... so I panicked some more and just started mashing R1 and R2... Ended up killing five dudes in pvp while having no idea whatsoever about what was going on...

Definitely not OP.

Also it fucking homes in on targets.

Is this a perk that's common in rocket launchers? Because it's the only launcher I've seen that has it.

bored at work, gif time:

Should of been doing this sooner...

We have my lv25 mostly specced with gear dropped in crucible.
Then my 27 with dead orbit spacegoth gear
finally my current load out.

Need new boots I think. Still rocking those dead orbit ones.

I feel like the Gjallahorn is underrated. When you upgrade to those wolfpack rounds, they really take out huge waves of mobs. Definitely pretty awesome, and the visual of the swarming missiles is cool as hell too.
Gjallarhorn is my #4. WOLFPACK ROUNDS!
It has such a cool visual design itself, too

Will it be easier to attain Ascendant Shards post patch? Have they changed how/where they are picked up? All my Legendary equipment is waiting to be upgraded but I only have 5 Shards and have no idea how to stack up on them. I know the Weekly's give you them, but the no matchmaking make's it hard to get people to get them.

One lame guaranteed way of getting them is by buying legendary gear from vendors and DE'ing it. Chests give the most shards.

So, in addition to those UI suggestions posted earlier in the thread, there was a great post a week or two ago in the Destiny lore (lol) thread re: implementing more contextual info-- like those found in the Grimoire cards-- in the game itself.

Reposting from that thread:

I would have loved something like this, especially during something as solitary as Patrols can be.

Anecdotal evidence; the same thing could have happened with a Titan slam. Blade dancer can get about 1-2 kills on a competent team.

I've had to send my PS4 to the morgue today, it's coffin arrived over the weekend. Hopefully people still play this game in two weeks :)

Had a bluetooth issue that just would not relent (controllers dropping out at 5 feet :(). Hopefully it's something that can actually be addressed and not an interference issue in my home.

Seems that doing the Moon strike with black wax idol on gives about 1000-1200 glimmer each time. Doing this with level 27+ you can blast through it in less than 5 minutes.

Much better than just sitting in one spot trying to get some enemies to spawn/

It won't exactly, but it will FEEL easier, lol. When you get a purple armor engram, you'll know you'll have either 2 or 3 shards from it.

Part 3 of my leveling guide has all the sources of shards. The weekly heroic strikes do NOT give them- that's strange coins- though there is a chance to get them from the weekly nightfall. The Daily Heroic Story is your simplest ticket to them- do the level 28 version for 2 (either shards/or energy). If you've got the marks, consider buying boots/chest/gauntlets from the vendors to dismantle (never helms).

I feel like there's an empty void in me after beating the raid. Getting to 30 seems tedious as all hell and there's nothing else to really do for me.

I do enjoy the solar scout rifle it gave me atleast.

After playing since 3am on release day, I have my Warlock up to 28 and both subclasses maxed. Still haven't really put time in to beat VoG. Just grinding for shards sadly to upgrade exotics and legendries. That is getting a bit boring as most would attest.

So today I created both a hunter and titan to mess around with. Leveling up the Titan reminded what got me hooked in the first place. The initial progression is so fun and you really feel like you are accomplishing something. Constantly Upgrading gear and guns as new ones are found is fun. It is even faster to rank up now that I am familiar with the gun mechanics.

It just kind of refreshed me a bit and I would suggest it for anyone that is feeling a little burnt out but still addicted to the game.

Having an alt or two leveled up to endgame will also accelerate the potential progression for both once you get to the higher levels. Totally recommended.

Actually... this will be awesome. Everybody, let's play a game!

Choose your three favorite items and post them here, preferably with an explanation of why you picked them and how/why/if they work together. Doesn't have to be exotics or even legendaries, though I expect to see them ;)

Oooh this is a tricky one. Hmm. Currently it'd have to be:

Lucky Raspberry is my exotic hunter chest piece. Not only does it fill me with anti-darkness for teh levels, it also gives me some sweet extras. My arcbolt grenade chains further, and to make sure I make the most of that, I spawn with grenade energy! Starting a match? Grenade ready. Respawned? Grenade ready. Revived by team mate? You get the idea. On top of that it gives me extra heavy and fusion rifle ammo capacity which is a godsend in both PvE and PvP.

I know, I know. Everyone and their dad has this now thanks to Xur but hear me out. The second I saw this weapon online during release day, I knew I wanted it in my life. I still hadn't got it drop when on the same day, two of my friends both got it as a drop. When Xur brought it to me I was more excited than Hawkian with a Hawkmoon. The gun itself is awesome to use and looks pretty swell too.

When I saw this bad boy in one of the preview videos Bungie released, I put it on my wishlist. I nabbed it as soon as it went on sale and I haven't been disappointed. It locks on to your target with decent effect and explodes into clusters which home in like certain grenades. Basically, it kicks ass! And pretty much anything with a solar shield or in a solar buffed strike melts when I whip it out. Combine this with my chest piece's extra ammo and I'm a force to be reckoned with ;)

On my wishlist: Icebreaker and the Vex fusion rifle :3
