Anyone have any tips on using Bladedancer in PvE?

I'm enjoying it in the crucible, but everywhere else I feel far less powerful than other classes.
Super-wise it's incredibly risky. You can spam Razor's Edge (which I originally wrote off as useless) to have a projectile that kind of goes around walls and does arc damage. However, the rest of the suit of Bladedancer skills besides the super (stealth rezzing and repositioning, extended dash/slide, blink/blink strike) are all very useful.

Just keep in mind constantly that you're not "a Bladedancer" for the duration of a Strike or whatever- assuming you've leveled both subclasses, you have all the abilities of each at your disposal and can (and should) switch as the situation calls for it.
I'm at work otherwise I'd take some screens, but basically you know that hallway you come into the final boss room at? Go diagonally across the room to the far corner, there's sone crates stacked up on the lower level beneath the top level. You can hop over them and take cover. There's quite a bit of space back there.
I guess that's... the other side of the room from where we were. hmm.

I did... I even accidentally scrapped the raid shotgun I got last time, felt bad about it, and got it again last night. That makes: 2 raid primaries (solar scout and void AR), 3 raid specials (2 shotguns and 1 sniper), and 1 raid heavy (corrective measure).

But still, to my original point. 0 exotics.

So you have the best Scout rifle and heavy mg in the game and are not satisfied? Cry me a river.

Whats up with the almost impossible Exotic Bounty for the handgun ? I need 500 PvP kills with void damage and this fucking counter resets when i'm dying. Wtf was Bungie thinking ? "Hey lets make a bounty that only the top10 PvP players in the world can finish" ? Super shitty if you ask me. And yes i suck at PvP so this handgun is out of reach for me or what ?

Right now, it requires too much commitment for your average mm user. I see too many people bail on easy strikes to know how featuring the mm experience would be.

That is the biggest issue really, you can't just have people dropping out of raids randomly with all the progress being lost and that'd almost certainly happen with matchmaking. Sure you can allow other players to jump in but they lose all the experience the other player has gained and you're back to teaching someone else what to do taking up even more time. Communication is also important but it's possible to work around that if you have a strong leader who will organise everyone and a few others who can call out when help is needed.

I have no problem with them not having matchmaking for raids, I just think it's a terrible game design to make the best part of the game difficult for large amounts of people to experience. As for the rest of the Story/Strikes there's absolutely no reason why they don't all have matchmaking.

I'm 100% convinced that your RNG will improve if you turn in things rapid fire like. BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM. Whether it's turning in quests or engrams. I've received the exotic quests about 10 times total now.

Doing this with Engrams has definitely led to more Strange Coins.

I also got an exotic quest and I'm not even Vanguard lvl 3 yet, so....

So is it safe to say the special exotic weapons Xur will eventually sell will go for 20 strange coins? Primary went for 23 while heavy went for 17. I would think special would be 20. I've got 19 and am praying he brings ice breaker as I've wanted that more than anything.

Yea but I usually don't start with the invites until he's pretty low anyway so it's not an issue. I don't know why but I have so much fun doing the weekly content solo, I'm probably weird.

I only had one death yesterday and it was my own fault, killed myself with a nade on my titan.

Haha, I killed myself too yesterday in the Interceptor when I fired a rocket too close to a hill and suicided. Stupid but I was more careful the next time.

holy shit does anyone know you can look over cover in this game when crouched behind objects?

FancyDownrightDevilfish.gif
Pretty sure you just aim down sights and the game automatically pops you up from cover.

you cant, he is just crouching, his reload makes it look like he is in cover.

You actually can. If you are crouched behind cover just press the ADS trigger and it will pop the scope up and over the cover. If you let go of LT/L2 your character will go back to the crouched state behind cover.

lol that is correct... got them from beating the RAID. Twice.

Vs an exotic dumping in my lap....

I've finished the raid a few times and so far all I have are shards, a ship and a cloak. So.... yeah. Annoying when I get nothing but shards but someone in my raid gets 3 or 4 items :) RNG RNG

It's not difficult to experience. The game is always online so finding online sources like forums and lfg.net is hardly difficult.

Still, something like lfg.net for raid content should be in game for sure. Just not direct, one click jump in without thinking mm.

ass shards are so good man, i envy you... then again having something to spend them on would be nice :)

Anyone up for the weekly nightfall? Need to finish that and in the process level up these Astrolord boots. PSN ID is Greenymac. Ill be up for whatever the group wants to do after that.

I bet Xur will have the the Vex Mythoclast for like 100 coins this weekend. That would be hilarious.

Can somone help me right now? I have this exotic bounty where I have to kill Phogoth's minions until Xyr appears so that we kill him and I get my bounty done. The strike is hard to do solo as it's a lvl 26 so at least lvl 29 guardian should help or two with lesser levels.

PSN ID: Jssom
Class " Titan/striker lvl 27

Yep, it's just straight across from it. Try it out though, it works great.
Will do.

I like to do this Nightfall/Strike "legit," but it's definitely handy to have a consistent cheesy approach for when lower-leveled people are running or the team doesn't have a good assortment of weapons for the weekly burn.

Your lock out is per character. So you can run the raid 3 times and try your luck. The chests are also per character. The difference being the hard mode is on a separate loot table so you could run the raid twice on two separate difficulties and get gear. However the first chest I believe counts towards BOTH difficulties because it's technically not in "instance" yet.

Thank you.

I seriously don't understand why people are still trying to defend AGAINST raid MM. WoW does it, and arguably WoW raids are much more difficult and require just as much, if not more, time.

All Bungie would have to do is either introduce a lower raid difficulty tier and let people get introduced to the mechanics, then once they have one Atheon clear at that difficulty tier, unlock the next raid difficulty tier. They could also only allow MM at level 27+ to ensure MM players are geared enough.

There is no defense for not having complete MM in a game with so little content right now. Let people enjoy the game when they can while they can.

Does anybody have any tips on the Crucible portion of the Thorn exotic bounty? I am a Hunter who of course has no void skills so I am stuck trying to get all my kills via my fusion rifle and machine gun.

I actually had my points up to 4 in my first match but by the time it ended I was back to zero.
I just don't see how I am going to get 500 points this way.

I already have Bad Juju and I don't like shotguns so I skipped the Invective. I wish I had gotten the other set of bounties because I really wanted the Pocket Infinity bounty.

Before I give up on the thorn does anybody have any tips for a Bladedancer who would like to earn the thorn still?

Just completed this myself. As somebody who sucks with fusion rifles and sniper rifles I decided to try it with a shotgun. If they are close to you, blast them. If they are far-ish away from you, sprint directly at them and mash the dive button, pop back up and blast them. I was bad at this at first, but in the end I got SO MANY KILLS from sprinting, diving, and blasting. It took me a little while... but on my better games I got 30-70 points per game.

Today was a good day so far, got Monte Carlo from Nightfall Weekly and Legendary gauntlets from first Raid boss. Still waiting for the final reward at the end of the raid.

I was BREEZING through the nightfall solo, had the tank's energy half way down, and got hit with an impossible battery blast.

Will do.

I don't see anything wrong with it, because clearly Bungie designed these spots to be used. Running around like a chicken with its head cut off and shooting rockets might be more exciting but in Nightfall there's not much room for error :)

Finished the Nightfall...

Hunter on my fireteam gets Helm of Saint-14 -- has no plans to play Titan.
I'm a Titan. Get 7 ascendant energy that I don't need or want.
Warlock teammate gets his second exotic weapon for the day (including one in a raid chest).

Thanks, Bungie.

you always need energy and shards. If you come across weapons or armor you need to upgrade.

It amazes me that people are still trying to justify the lack of matchmaking for raids (or anything else, for that matter).

Raids can take a long time, matchmaking removes any form of commitment. You can have people jump in, grab the chest, leave. People will drop out after a wipe or when something goes wrong or when they are in a bad mood or any other reason.

There are no social or community features in the game and there is no way to punish or reward player behavior. It's not a justification, it's simply the reason why Bungie chooses to not do it.

I got stuck behind there by accident last night and got the boss down pretty good but then some of the shield guys walked over and blocked my entire view and I couldn't get an angle to shoot their arms. My 2 other guys were both dead on the other side of the arena so I figured I couldn't do anything behind there so jumped out to try and revive them but was instantly killed by all those adds and the boss.

Two 27's and a 24 and we couldn't beat the level 26 version of that mission. Was a bummer.

I haven't played WoW but at least everyone playing that has keyboards so I assume communication is possible.

If the VoG had MM there would be a ton of people having shitty experiences with it.

I really want a good Legendary LMG - I've been using my rare for far too long. In fact, I am severely lacking in the legendary department for my heavy weapons.

ass shards are so good man, i envy you... then again having something to spend them on would be nice :)

You can get 3 shards a day from just doing the daily and a public event, so getting them in a weekly raid is kind of a downer. I am swimming in shards.

I bought the Cryptic Dragon after finally having enough marks and I'm underwhelmed :(

Scout Rifles have been confirmed for an incoming buff. Eta "before the end of the year".

If you can't get along with it then put it in your vault for now.

I really like my Cryptic Dragon. Feels great to shoot and it's fun to precision hit with. My Suros does make it feel underwhleming though.

Anyone can drop out at any time, whether it's in MM or in a group of your friends. If your community has to make a third party website to find groups for content then obviously you need to reevaluate your game mechanics.

Yes it is a double edged sword but WoW makes it work and it encourages playing with strangers. My first raid clear was with complete strangers via Destinylfg. Your argument is invalid.

I'd like to help people with the heroic raid this week. I know the popular strategies and can explain them, as well as improvise. Level 29 maxed Sunsinger/Voidwalker here.

PSN: Afrodeeziyak. Send me a FR or a PM. I live on the east coast and I'm willing to raid any day except for Thursday.

I've cleared the normal mode plenty of times to the point where I think I could probably pull off the Flawless Raider trophy on a good day.

Obviously they're need to include voice for MM. It's a necessity, and why they haven't included it already boggles my mind.
