If it requires a 460 then you can absolutely play it just fine at 1080p at 60ish fps on a 750ti and a i5 3570k oc'd

you'd think they'd be better at explaining PC requirements than most publishers, huh? I'm glad they issued a follow up, they needed to, but this could have been avoidable. I'll be fine with turning down AA, SSAO, and turning off tessellation.
To be fair, an i7 is also recommended for Mordor and benchmarks show ancient, shit AMD CPUs pushing 100fps with a good video card.so a i7 is Minimum... lmao.
so a i7 is Minimum... lmao.
I figured as such but the PC version has the black bars as well right?

The PC version has a toggle for it.
Thought it could be only changed through the console? I don't think it'll be an in-game option.
still not sure PC or PS4
3570k
7870 2gb
8GB ram
That's why I'm laughing, they seem to be inept at releasing correct info for this gamei7 definitely isn't minimum even if it says it.
Crisis averted, then? After this and the Shadows of Mordor panic I hope that we've all learned a valuable lesson here.
I'd say PC, both your CPU and graphics card are better than the ones powering the PS4.
That's not how comparing console to pc works..., but say whatever you want.
That's gotta be it. These are still ridiculous requirements. An i7 as *minimum*? Cant play at 1080p without *recommended*(ie 4GB vRAM)?Hah, they found a 460 laying around or ebayed one for cheap and ran a test with it.
These devs just don't have a bunch of different pc's to test this on.

C'mon now.
Is the i5 not equivalent? What kind of i7? Will the game actually be using HT?

Wait... Wrong thread? Now I'm confused.
That's what I don't get - this is gonna do nothing but scare some people off buying it.I couldn't help but wonder if this is some sort of ploy from Intel, AMD and Nvidia in order to get more people to upgrade. Then I gave it some more thought and I realised that game publishers would have no reason to agree to something like this since listing artificially inflated system requirements would reduce their game sales. So I ended up on the classic saying "never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity".

My conspiracy idea was that they are trying to get people to buy consoles, cuz they know people pay more money for the game on console.
I do like the idea that they simply don't have a range of PC's to test this on, though. That sounds plausible to me.
I don't see conspiracies everywhere! lol Far, far from it. I wasn't really being serious as my last comment suggested.Don't put so much thought in it. Alexandros is probably right. The people releasing it were stupid or lazy like most of the population. It's not healthy to see conspiracies everywhere.
There's a picture of the benchmarks in the Mordor performance thread but I can't fish it out atm because I'm on mobile.yo can i get a link for this as i have an ancient AMD cpu but a somewhat decent card![]()
These threads are hilarious. I wonder which game will be next to be revealed as requiring bonkers specs, only for them to inevitably turn out to be nonsense?

Minimum requirements for The Evil Within can now be found below. You wont be experiencing the game at 1080p and youll likely need to turn off some features, but you will still be able to have a great experience with the game.
Well it's an improvement, but...
That scares me just a bit. The last time I had to lower the resolution to play a game at a reasonable FPS was back when I was using a CRT monitor!
My money's on Arkham Knight.
Minimum requirements are a GPU released in 2010... 4 years old GPU.
Hey guys, do you think the game will work fine with my Asus GTX760?

Actually given the fact that it is running on EU3 Jalloppy car edition (aka UE3 with tons of tacked on late gen tech) I expect it to run poorly too and have horrible hitching. UE3 does not scale up well.
Yes, but 2GB of VRAM will mean sacrifices in plenty of areas. The wording suggests 4GB is necessary for console parity in terms of effects and assets.
