Odd that you are only Vanguard rank 1 if you were doing bounties as you were going through the story. I was almost rank 2 after completing the story. Spent some time on patrol and in the lowest strike hopper and quickly hit level 2 and was able to buy some gear.

use the radar and just point blank people with the shotgun. fusion personally is a lot harder to use even if its the purple one.

I just don't play well in close quarters so I avoid it. I have become decent at PvP, but only if I play to my current strengths. I might give it a shot though.

For those worried about the 500 void damage for the Thorn Bounty, I found it much easier to get that in Rumble, rather then Control or any other game type. Just equip a shotty or Fusion, and do your thing. Much easier to rack up points that way then worrying about control points or teammates. It took me a few hours as hunter, but I eventually got the points faster then when in Control.

I'm talking about those rare chests which contain 200+ glimmer, 10+ materials, a couple of blue engrams and/or ammo synthesis.
I've patrolled for several hours since the patch, must have opened more than a hundred chests but it's all the same single green crappy gear + 1 or 2 material.
I assume they quietly nerfed that, like the cryptarch leveling bullshit.

truthfully i dont play pvp all that much in fpses these days but being smart, using the radar and generally sticking to areas more advantageous to cqc.
dont try to run out in the open too much since the ARs will still chew you apart. if you have to prevent a death by swapping weapons to take out another player do it. trying to focus purely on all kills with the void weapon usually leads to more deaths.
i completed all of mine in the deathmatch mode. figured it would be faster than the team based stuff.
Agreed. I tried playing while 2k was downloading earlier but the lag was too much. Had to wait it out... Which took a while considering the download was 47GB.

ive had several post patch. only change i saw with chests is possible spawn time adjustment

Ah that totally makes sense. I noticed everyone seemed to get the shader but me. Don't feel so bad now.
I got two yesterday and one today.
Just beat Aetheon for the first time. Talk about one of the most frustrating, annoying, rewarding, and fun experiences. I ended up with chatterwhite and 3 ascendent energy, but overall should pray to RNGJesus for the loot I got throughout the raid (Raid chest, raid legs, Midas Multi-Tool, Found Verdict, Fragment of the Prime, and many Ascendent Energy). I know I'll be lucky to see another raid armor piece in the next 10 raids.

Iv killed over 20,000 enemies in Destiny so far as a Hunter. Goodness I'm a mass murderer.
I did at least 2 times since wednesday, but perhaps I'm insanely lucky ^^
Once upon a time, six power rangers with capes and coats had to travel into the past and future to kill a giant silver robot. There were these things called Oracles that took all day to kill. There were also these giant dickheads called Praetorians who had void shields.
One of the power rangers was tired of Atheon's shit and went into the future. He came back with this insane auto rifle that did void damage and ate Oracles and Praetorians for breakfast.
The power rangers used this gun, and Atheon went down.
The end.

Got to give a big thanks for the group that I raided with earlier today. Took us a handful of hours, and a couple of people dropped out. But we managed to finish on hard mode with a couple of new folks and I was super lucky to get a Mythoclast.

2 quick questions.
if you level up all your legendary armor will you still be able to reach lvl 30? or is an exotic required to hit that mark?
and in order for me to do that im in need of a good amount of shards. is there any method to get a good amount of them daily? only ways i know how to get them are from selling legendary items and getting lucky and getting them from public events.

1) You need to have 3 pieces of raid gear and an exotic, all fully upgraded to reach level 30.
2) Do public events, buy legendary armor from Vanguard, Crucible, & Faction vendors then dismantle them, do the raid, do nightfall, etc.
Holy crap. Just finished my first VoG run aaaand... got nothing but the shader. We actually killed him post-mortem with sunsinger grenades (set him on fire). It started the countdown to fail us, and then froze up. Everyone got the shader and some got weapons, but we couldn't get to the results screen...I think we should get an award for that.
Also, another note, grenades do full damage even when time's revenge is not active! Go nuts!

Anyone on Xbox One doing the raid tonight and need another guy? I've made it to Atheon with two separate teams, and then some people bailed, so I'd really like a chance to beat it. Also want to run the nightfall strike if anyone wants to join.
