Driveclub PS Plus Edition Delayed by Server Issues

ok, cool. Just looking out for ya. I am hoping that this will be a permanent fixture. By having a 'free' plus edition it would make sense to keep it around longer than just a month.

It's not about the number of players pinging the servers. It's about the number of requests per player.
So 5 million players ping the server once to get connected to the destiny servers and it's good. Servers can handle the load.
drive club has considerably less server capacity. And 100k players are pinging the servers 20 times each and your up to 2 million requests. Servers weren't anticipating that. They crash or don't allow new connections.

For now, even tho I love what I've played so far, I'm gonna put drive club on hold cause I want to play with challenges enabled. So I'm playing Daganranpa 2 and Dust on PS4 to hold me over.

I think it's time Sony brought out the big guns. After this debacle, where they've brought shame upon half the planet, there is only one thing that can appease everyone. It's a little sad since he was busy selling his way to multimillion status, but his presence is needed now more than ever. It's time Sony give the people what they want, and what they need. It's time to give them Knack.

Service seems worse now than when it was free. It's down all the time.
It's even more social than Driveclub.
With Knack, you can invite people to your homes, and experience the thrill together. So not only does it give you the social experience, but it gives you that real life interactivity, that will also help many people's social skills.
Can Driveclub do that? No, it can't. You're restricted to online, a fake world, and a fake reality.
It's about Knack now. Like having your own treehouse club. Knackclub.

And yes it would have been nice if they could keep it longer than just a month.I know they did this with some PSVita games (Uncharted,Gravity Rush) so maybe since DC is also first party they will keep it longer (hopefully at least February which i plan to resubscribe)Yeah. I would cancel it if I didn't have a couple of Vita games from it.

Rushy implied it would be available well into the new year. But that was over a year ago and he was talking about a different year, so I'd think it's still the case but can't guarantee it.
I won't be renewing my PS+ sub next month.
I'm a little miffed that their promised update isn't out yet.
That's the way I feel now looking at back at XBL for like 10 years when they offered ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but the privilege of playing multiplayer.

I think they will treat this like a demo rather than a standard plus game. It would make the most sense to keep this version available in order to try and get peeps hooked.
Overall my PS+ subscription has been a waste. When it runs out I'm not renewing for another year.I purchased my PS4 to play Driveclub at launch.

Unfortunately, too many people just don't understand that though. I've quite enjoyed the PS+ offerings myself. I've still received more value from my PS+ sub than I have with the competitors.There is no free version. The PS+ version is paid for as well. In fact, the PS+ edition of Drive Club was used as one of the main justifications for PS4 PS+.
I wonder if anything will change. Now that Sony got their paid multiplayer through I wonder if they will be quite so generous as they were.

The discussion about how wrong this is has died now that both Xbox and Playstation gamers have to pay for online functionality and most people simply won't be able to cancel the service now that they're used to have it, just like it was for 360 gamers last gen.
Nintendo should really be praised for not doing the same thing. Next big thing is PS Now, pay for laggy backwards compatibility, yay. And MS isn't even trying. Another thing that Nintendo got right, full backwards compatibility, for free. Makes me sad to think that N might not survive much longer

I don't need the online functionality. The only online game I play is FF XIV which doesn't need it as far as I know.

Personally my problem is with their PS3 offerings not the PS4 ones which i can totally understand. There are lots of PS3 games that i still want to try yet for one year that i was a subscriber they have been giving me games that i do not care about (with 2-3 exceptions).It seems that i don't belong to the group of gamers they are catering with PS+ therefore my decision to not renew my subscription
