Yamauchi interview to GAMES magazine #153:

“Everything will be running naturally,” Yamauchi assured us. “PS3 was much, much more difficult. The high quality of data that we have being rendered on the PS4 I think is going to make an incredible difference.”

“For GT7, myself and my staff have a clear vision: to do everything we couldn’t do in GT6,” Yamauchi revealed. “We want to make it very Gran Turismo. By that I mean it’s going to be a game that matches the very era that we live in, in 2015 or 2016.”

I have no idea how to parse those statements for juicy nuggets.

It will exist. It will exist in the future. It will be Gran Turismo. It will be what they wanted GT6 to be (which is both exciting and ominous).

it will look fantastic and be so damn boring in every way. It will also have 7,000 cars including 34 versions of R33 GTR's, GTS-T's and GTS. It will score well and have zero atmosphere and will not be fun to play.

In essence all the cars ranging from the days of GT on PSX up to GT7 in 2016. In some way, I do wonder what this would mean for "standard" cars.

But would it still be the era we live in when the game actually releases?

Joking aside, I can't wait to see what they have in store. However the official confirmation by Kas that standard cars will still be in it has me worried.

I guess he means "era" as in hardware generation, so the usual "using the console's full potential".
And obviously he's teasing GT7 Prologue for 2015.

A holiday 2015 title about a month or so before Uncharted would make for a really great sales quarter, but I do not trust them to have it done by then. Maybe Sony's big March 2016 game? That quarter is starting to become very important for all three companies...

"We will now let you drive on Mars, and have added two new jazz albums to the menu music. You can now also have a custom dog companion that will act as a furry co-driver and woof when you've mastered a corner. This pet is fully customizable with 12,000,000 possible combinations of breed and color and Driving Manager skill. You can name, stroke and walk your dog with the new state of the art GT7 Prologue mobile app launching in 'early 2016'"

But in our era cars get damaged.

Btw,GT7 is probably the game that will make me buy a ps4.I need next-gen a engine sound.

Well I know it's going to look great and I'll play it for a long time, but please someone (Sony, Logitech) make it support G27.

Yes yes, we know the game will look amazing but what about the engine sounds? I don't wanna play another GT and the cars sounds like wet farts in a castle.

engine sounds are the only thing holding back.

After GT5 and GT6, I don't believe a thing that comes out of the man's mouth.
