Police are not allowed to identify people who are concealed carrying?
It's pretty simple- if you set off the metal detector, for WHATEVER reason, you get taken aside to a private room to be patted down.
That way, no one would know if it were a belt or a gun. /shrug... (no one except the authorities). If it's a gun, then at that point in total privacy, the carrier can present his/her concealed carry permit/license to cops.

According to the local police there, yes, that's all illegal. People can only be screened at one designated hearing location on campus.
Brawndo offers a different interpretation above, but that's obviously not what they went with.
