How about install times on the PS4 versus XB1? That seems core to the OS and something that Sony had beat from the beginning. It's a huge feature that anyone espouses XB1 over PS4 always seems to ignore.
Well, I personally don't have a single disc game between them, so it's a completely invisible benefit to me. It is definitely a valid one though... but it's not like nobody ever mentions it, is it?
remote play and upcoming share play are truly next gen features that competitor isnt even close to having... they are huge differentiator.
they are about playing games and not watching movies.... just playing games.
Well, remote play kinda requires a whole separate console... and it makes sense that MS doesn't have an equivalent, because they don't have an equivalent console. It'd be like complaining that the PS2 didn't have any functionality similar to the Gamecube+GBA link. It's more of a hardware feature than an OS feature, and is far from free.
Shareplay though sounds great, and actually crosses off one of my most wanted XBO features (being able to broadcast your screen over Skype). I don't generally want to broadcast streams over Twitch to everybody, but I'd like to share my screen with a single other person, and not have a huge delay destroy my interaction with them. Shareplay should offer that ability even if I never actually need to share the gameplay itself.
Again though, I'm not saying that Sony isn't providing any feature of merit that MS lacks (or vice versa). It's that these things aren't things are more nice to have, than a requirement. The Xbox One not having remote play or shareplay isn't having a negative effect on my general experience when playing the console. Stuff like not being able to pause huge ass downloads (and as a result being hesitant to start them), or not knowing when friends appear online (so rarely playing with them), is actually making my experience on PS4 worse... even when compared to last gen's consoles. The PS4 currently lacks basic level functionality a year into it's life.
play go is also another feature built in and designed to let you play games faster...
to me it just seems that they are a lot more focused on gaming part, but we all know that.
So PlayGo shows they are focused more on gaming... but downloading games is irrelevant? Friend notifications aren't a gaming function? Suspend/Resume isn't a gaming function?
It's not like we're using "Send HDMI-IN to Smartglass" as comparison points here.
