My point (which you actually back up with the high school thing) is that "its just fiction" is an awful way to excuse something someone else has a problem with, because we find fiction compelling because of the ways we can relate it back to our experience. Not in a literal "violent fiction causes you to be violent" way, but in the more fundamental way evidenced by the fact that we play games featuring more than abstract geometric shapes. People like fictional things because of what they represent, people can dislike things for the exact same reason. And in this case the thing being disliked is "clearly sexualized girls in the 14-16 age range" (and even the developer admits this)
 
Age is irrelevant as I said. It's culture based. What if I tell you the third girl is 22 years old? They look pretty grown up in our view.

Well, if they could change the way they are working, I guess. It's not fun getting home at 9PM everyday after working. Why would they bother with marriage if that's the case?

Perversion? I think it's better than violent compare to certain countries, depend on how you view it. At least the Asia doesn't make a fuss about how Japan is, and I'm sure some part of EU also like Japan for what it is.

Well since I am kind of involved with this post. It isn't because of "pure maidens" or whatever in my case. I am on the internet, I am aware of the stuff that comes out of it and I enjoy most fan art.

I just don't find the SK games all that fun and kind of dull gameplay wise and for me I could get all the "enjoyment" out of it from just seeing videos and pictures.
 
Think he'd have better luck with Koei Tecmo. Hell, he'd probably be the one to produce Dead or Alive Xtreme 3.......and fund it.

Ah I gotcha. To be fair it would be a little weird to see them in an SK game.

But yeah treating them like maidens is kinda silly.

I don't want to mention Other M (character wise) but it's kinda like that.

Think the issue I have is he's asking for characters in mainly E-rated/kid-friendly characters to appear in his game which....just clash with each other. It's like trying to cross over Street Fighter & Mortal Kombat. The tones of each franchise and their content just don't work together. Yes yes, Samus had her bikini outfits and ZZS, but that's really it and rather tame in comparison to SK. So I understand why some people aren't up for this type of collaboration, & I agree with them.

Now if, say, this was DoA as previous mentioned or if he said he'd want to invite Mai from King of Fighters or Bayonetta, that'd feel more fitting because said characters/franchises actually have bits of fanservice in them. I guess if he wants to do crossovers, have them make sense, again, like the DoA one.

He mentions that it's unlikely, so he knows that it won't happen just like Boon knows that the Street Fighter collaboration will never happen. He was specifically asked about including Nintendo characters in SK, so Peach and Samus are going to be among the first female characters that you'd think of from Nintendo. The other would obviously being Zelda.
 
.... Nope. NOPE. NOPE. Bayonetta is already pushing it, but SK? I guess I could deal with the costumes being in the game if it had a Nintendo release, but not the girls themselves. They don't at all seem of the personality to go through something like that. Nor do they have the ridiculous looking chest seen in SK.

And definitely not Zelda. I'm kinda glad she wasn't mentioned!

Bayonetta finding her way into SK however... now THAT'D be weird. She'd probably enjoy teasing the player basically. Someone like Fire Emblem's Tharja? Errr,,, still weird, but could work. Xenoblade? Sure, Shulk and Reyn would make wonderful SK Guest characters! .....

It's actually endearing to me how upfront and enthusiastic about it he is.

Either way, it's more reasonable to try and go for alternate costumes like Bayonetta 2 did instead of featuring the characters themselves.

Outside of video game forums, I don't think anyone cares or even sees Japan as a land of perversion. I'd say they're more synonymous with "weird".
 
Anything more than costumes would be too much. Some streams should not be crossed. Also this guy is incredible, I can't help but like him and his hyper-otaku ways.

I really don't get this logic that gets brought up in these arguments.

If I find the idea of a teenager being sexualized creepy or disgusting. Why would I have no problems with the fictionalized version even though it's meant to draw upon the same feeling. It gets even worse because in this case it's supposed to be erotic. It's fictional, but the point is still "here's a 14 year old girl thats supposed to make you think 14 year old girls/young girls and we've put her in some very sexual situations". it may be fictional, but the concept and motive behind it are still the same.

I think Senran Kagura are fun games(the Vita one at least), but yeah the fanservice is really overdone and I easily see why people have problems with it and may find it creepy. I also understand why they would find the audience that eats up these things creepy as well. I mean it's a pretty trashy and sexist game. Not misogynistic, but it really does objectify women to a very high degree. Thats fine. Porn should allow to exist. It is what it is.
 
Discussing adding underage characters into a sexualized game isn't welcome here. It's the reason we disallow discussion of stuff like Criminal Girls and Monster Monpiece, and it's not any more appropriate in this context.
 
There is a whole host of gym leaders and champions ya'll aren't thinking about. We need to go deeper. Pokemon got way too many candidates. The adults tho, ya'll creeps can't creep on iris.

Completly understand... question though. Arent there underage characters in Senran kagura? This is a legit question, from what I have seen from gaf and stuff a lot of them are in sailor fuku, if so thats kinda creepy.

The theory is that in some regions where GAF is read, the ages in SK are above the age of consent. While SK generally skeeves out most of the moderation staff, we've agreed to allow discussion of these sorts of games, so long as the characters are 15+.

I would not be entirely surprised if we have folk in community groups getting excited over images depicting people younger than that, and you're welcome to let me know if you see it, so I can take care of it

So consider that the edge case when discussion whose hometown you want to see and whose life you want to fondle.
