My theory is the inhumans. Calling it now. But the Mister Hyde and Daisy Johnson theory could be a possibility too.

They'll probably mix the two - Mister Hyde as her father, Inhuman mother. Quake powers aren't unlocked until the Terrigen Mists come into play. Maybe in this version the Hyde formula was an attempt to make Terrigen Mists work on non-inhumans.

Mockingbird was fantastic. Palicki nailed it. Now dye her hair blonde by next season and we're good to go.

This season is really just killing it. Wish it was like this from day one.

Tripp still isn't listed as main cast, is he?

Are we assuming he dies? I'm thinking there's at least two deaths. You've got the core team, but I don't think any of them are dying:
-Coulson
-May
-Skye
-Fitz
-Simmons
-[Ward]

And then there have been the add-ons:
-Trip
-Hunter
-Mac
-Mockingbird

Since none of the original core are dying (aside from Ward) and Ward's replacement seems to be Hunter. Mockingbird is probably only around for a few episodes at most, that leaves Mac and Trip up on the 'possible death' line. Of the two, I think Trip is the most likely.

Fitz and Bobbi hook up, Simmons ends up with Tripp.
Or Skye.
If Bobbi was brainwashed or whatever, I can totally see her fucking around
potentially even literally
with different males in there to throw off morale and create an opening for Hydra. And Fitz' purity will be the reason that guides them through that darkness.

I guess it's kind of an easy set up, but I think Bobbi will add a pretty interesting dynamic to the cast.

I just need a redhead regular by the end of S3

Man, so good. I look back and s2 makes s1 more worthwhile. Really interesting connections and foreshadowing. Raiana, man, great stuff. Interesting sky theory. Ultron erection ensuing next week.

#Fitzsimmons.

Yep, SHIELD is killing it this season and love the appearance of Bobbi Morse. Need the Hawkeye connection, but knowing that she's the "she-devil ex" is also hilarious.

The reuniting of Fitz & Simmons... (^ω^)

Biggest thing? AoU trailer!!!!

What a great episode! They are really killing it this season.

The restaurant scene with Raina was really well done. Watching her go from "I've got you" to "Oh shit" desperation was great.

How long is Mockingbird supposed to stick around? She kicks ass.

Definitely at the very least for a few episodes. I think it's more than likely she's gonna become a regular, though.

That would be awesome.

Honestly, I prefer the large team to what they had last season where it was just 6 people hanging out on a plane. Even if some of the characters are mostly background it helps to give the show a greater sense of scale.

I'm liking this show more than Arrow or Flash. I honestly didn't think I'd be able to say that.

Gotham is still garbage though.

Agreed!

and ditto to enjoying this more much more than Arrow so far.

You forgot Billy Koenig.

Best episode since the premiere, which is saying a lot because every episode has been great. I'm so into this season, I almost can't handle it.

Thoughts...
-Confirmed: Mack is 100% GAY. He is gonna hook up with Fitz who has confirmed his bisexuality and they will be the best couple ever. Mack's comments to Bobbi were gay code for "yo girl, let's gossip!" and I'm ready for all that and more. Mack <3 <3 <3
-Simmons is too cute. I love her. The undercover stuff was cool, but I'm happy she's back with the group.
-Bobbi/Mockingbird was awesome. I love her direct and confident approach. Tell it like it is Bobbi.
-I thought I'd get tired of Hunter's constant jokes, but now I kinda love it.
-The Skye/Coulson/Crazy dad stuff was good. I like that they moving the plot along here. I was worried he'd spend the first half of the season lurking in the shadows.
-Raina is amazing. Sass for days.
-I'm still not sure why Tripp is here. Every new character that has come after him has been more interesting and has been given more stuff to do. Utilize him please.
-I might have a small crush on Whitehall's right hand man guy Bakshi. He's super evil but also extremely handsome.
-Ming Na might be the most beautiful woman on Earth.
-This show is awesome. Everything is awesome.

Also, what was the "special announcement"? I didn't see anything.

Edit: This is the cutest thing ever.

Holy shit that was a great episode. Maybe the best one yet. It's kinda insane how much the plot moved forward in this one. A lot of stuff I didn't expect to see until the mid season finale at least. How this season is moving is night and day compared to the first season, which felt like it was dragging it's feet until Winter Soldier came around.

She's already married, with kids if I recall.

Challenge accepted.

The story is moving along faster than I thought it would. I appreciate that.
It's just glorious. The last two previews were weak and lowered my expectations but even the episodes I though predestined to be bad have excited me. I think I'll let the reigns loose on my hype a bit.
Anyone else watch flash at 8 and agents of shield at 9
God yes. I live for Gotham's Agents of Flash (featuring Arrow).

1. I agree with everything you said. Also, Chloe Bennett for beautiful women.
2. AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON TRAILER NEXT WEEK. I feel like they saw the ratings for how good the show is and decided to directly inject goddamn adrenaline into it to spike those ratings. I've gotta spread this message to everyone I know.
3. They watch the show just like us normals?! *glassy eyes*

Cast really looks like they have fun working together. Simmons, dat face. Ming Na....sigh.....unbelievable.

Man, hope ward and his swole self gets let loose and wrecks some shit. I can see him being a rabid dog on a leash. Be awesome.

Quick thoughts, more tomorrow:

I like Bobbi.

Even imaginary Simmons is thirsty for Mack. AKA Fitz is thirsty for Mack.

Loving Coop as Skye's dad. Man, that end scene.

Avengers 2 trailer next week
Ah, cool. Thanks.

God yes. I live for Gotham's Agents of Flash (featuring Arrow).

I haven't watched Gotham yet, but SHIELD, Arrow & The Flash are my nerd jam. I can't believe we got three awesome superhero shows all airing simultaneously that are all awesome and have found a solid audience. Tell that to yourself 2 or 3 years ago and see what you'd say.

Everyone on this show is beautiful, like to a ridiculous degree. But I'm astounded by Ming Na. She never ages and looks phenomenal all the time. She's a real life superhero I'm pretty sure.

That vid of them watching together melted my cold, bitter heart. As I mentioned, I'm really digging Bakshi lately, and I hope he sticks around even though he's a crazy psycho killer. I'm gonna go with brainwashed by Whitehall and is actually the sweetest man on Earth.

Even imaginary Simmons is thirsty for Mack. AKA Fitz is thirsty for Mack.
We're all thirsty for Mack. How could you not be? I'm already built and christened the Mack x Fitz ship and there's room for EVERYONE.

Having that midseason break to lean into is huge for the momentum. They're clearly telling a full story now, with a second one on the back end.

Which is what almost every show should do. While I think shorter episode orders are better, if you gotta do a full 22, do it in arcs! Keep it tight!!!

One minor complaint about this season is that Triplett feels useless. No interesting relationships with the rest of the cast, uber simple motives; only really good for advice here and there and to plug holes in conversation. Which Lance also does more of, and better.

I feel like his inclusion is solely to lead up to a beard trimmer product placement but it never happens.

So yeah, as of right now, #TrippKoenig is what I forecast.

EDIT: Also the dude who plays Mack should play Luke Cage.

I agree, they can tell a awesome story in 11 episodes, drop some huge info, then take there break. Then Carter comes in and likely fills in some back story related to said huge info, and then leads right into the second half story.

I also agree it's time for Trip to get the boot. He doesn't have anything to do and other characters (Hunter, especially) are better at the snappy one-liners.

I would be greatly surprised if the producers pursued a relationship between Fitz and Mack. Even in this day and age, it's still a risk considering the show's demographic.

I don't really see a problem with Triplett not having that essential a role at the moment. Maybe there's some "wasted potential" there, but I have no problems having some characters take a more background role at times if it means the show can better focus on fewer things more. Not everyone needs to be in the spotlight. Not every human being has she-devil ex-wives, get friendzoned so badly their brains get fucked up, start writing alien star maps, have to plan how to kill one of their closest friends etc., some people can be more normal. :P Maybe it is kinda boring, but it's not like he's some central character so he's not bringing that boring into the episodes themselves (unless you are obsessing over his every appearance and how unimportant and normal he seems).

I think last season's six member team felt a little barebones and was a worse solution even if all of the characters were focused on, and having a bigger team in season 2, even if not all of its members are developed & in central roles all the time, is a better way to do things. It kind of makes the whole team seem a bit more plausible that it's not just a few key members who get all the drama & attention doing everything, but there are plenty of recurring and somewhat important team members who can be seen supporting them, even when they don't have a lot of personal drama going on.

Triplett is (one of) their pilot(s) and that's as important a role as he really needs at the moment. He doesn't necessarily have to have some romance with Simmons or Skye, or some "my father/grandfather was this or that character you might remember from some movie and this is the SUPER-INTRIQUE way it ties to the current bigger storylines" subplot going for him currently. I think his role as a kind of likable & reliable pilot is just fine for now. If he doesn't get any spotlight during S02 at all, then we can maybe talk if there's any sense to have him in the show so much. But yeah, I don't think it really affects the series negatively that he's just there, since they aren't trying to make his simple role into anything bigger. If he was as seemingly boringly normal AND they tried to focus on him in a big way at this point, then it would be a problem. But yeah, at the moment it's just fine that he's mostly in the background. Let him come into play when the story requires it more naturally and don't force him into a bigger role when it doesn't really warrant it.

I also agree it's time for Trip to get the boot. He doesn't have anything to do and other characters (Hunter, especially) are better at the snappy one-liners.

It wouldn't really be a Whedon show without at least some gay/lesbian/bisexual action...

Sure but how many of them have actually had men kissing? That still (I'm sad to say) freaks out a lot of people.
The important thing to remember is no one cares about those people. Pandering to bigotry is never the way. (I'm also sure that Whedon & Co. would never do that anyway.)

Mack x Fitz would be incredible, and I say full steam ahead.

That's true. At least Joss has talked about wanting to do openly gay male characters in the somewhat recent past, but I'm not sure if he has that much part in what goes on with Agents of SHIELD or if they'd let him do it even if he did.

ABC is like gay man central right now. Their most popular new show has had gay sex in pretty much every episode since it's premiere.
