maybe it's because I watch White Collar but I can't take Peter Burke serious as a bad guy. Not even remotely close

I don't find it that hard to see. Even in White Collar his character has shown the ability to be a master manipulator. It's not like Senator Ward is going to be fighting hand to hand with anyone... at least I hope not.

The Ward War Tally

#TeamGrant (7): Neoxon, RyosukeTH, the_firewithin, TacticalFox88, Choppasmith, Incendiary, Backwards Marathon
#TeamChristian (1): bananafactory

Her fan girl shtick is getting old.

I just skimmed the last few pages so forgive me if this has been put out already, But, Anyone else think Coulson knew ward would escape? Just before the transfer scene Coulsons looking at Wards shield file/evaluation and the most obvious thing on that page is Wards max combat rating. which leads me to....

Also I swear at one point ward mentions having tasks, Taskmaster Ward? Im down.

I know peeps haved specced ward being tasky before.

Technically, it is a Whedon show, just a different Whedon.

Two different Whedon's actually. Maurissa Tancharoen is married to Jed Whedon.

I'm still bummed by the show absolute mishandling of Tripp. You have him in every episode, but you do nothing? You tie him to no one? Mack has gotten more to do than Tripp.

The "literal nothing but stand there" he did in this ep makes me think he had to have been filming the other show concurrently. He's always in the base or plane- only in Ep2 or 3 have we seen him on another set.

Well, now that Simmons is back we might see something there.

Good episode, further cements that Hydra is full of incompetent goons. I just can't take them seriously as a threat any more when it's apparently so easy to take them down.

Frank Grillo is rolling around in his hospital bed at what's become of Hydra in his absence.

Are they serious with May taking down someone who nearly killed Hawkeye?

Come on. I hate this approach where May always wins whatever fight she's in. It's getting boring. There's literally no tension left when she's in a fight. You just know she'll beat the odds and it's so damn boring.

Ward was incredible this episode. We need more from him, I hate that he's been wasted in the basement so far. Hopefully his escape will allow him to flex his newly found badassery

And I couldn't help but laugh at Simmons threatening him. Come on. You need to check that shit before you get Fitz'd.

Adrianne....oh my. The one true badass we deserve.

Even if Joss isn't directly writing the show, he and Jed collaborated quite a bit on Joss' previous works (Dr. Horrible, Dollhouse, and parts of Avengers). It's safe to say that they know Joss' signature "voice" so-to-speak.

Maybe Clint had the flu or some nasty shit passed by BW.

And yes, Grillo needs to come back and discipline those fools.

I must have missed the part where the info that Baldy McMohawk almost took down Hawkeye. Was it at the fight at the end?

anyways, now that I am here, I've liked most of Marvel movies, and this thread seems to be full of positive reactions, does anything here ties into the movies or upcoming netflix series at all? that might be the final push I need to start watching this

Very likely that they will tie into Daredevil before season ends, as TV/Netflix is all handled by the same guy (Loeb). As far as ties to the movies... well, the movies affect the show, but the show has yet to affect a movie (outside of 1 character from the show appearing in an upcoming Marvel movie).
Also the direction that the show is currently heading, it might be a long precursor to an upcoming Marvel movie just announced officially yesterday.

But Season 2 is leaps and bounds better than whatever you heard about S1 (the good or the bad) and in my opinion is currently the best CB show on TV (a title that was previously held with ease by Arrow up until the end of last season).

What do you expect from an organization that plasters its evil logo on their building's walls and shipping crates?

That's some Dr. Evil shit already.

Just after the intro. Bobbi is telling Coulson about the mohawk guy and his past acts. She mentions that he nearly killed Barton.

Not every member of HYDRA can be a top elite like the STRIKE forces. Hell, HYDRA is full of these clowns:

Oh wow, who the hell is he?

Hehe. That's a good point, but I keep thinking back to the Hydra we saw in TWS and wondering what the hell happened to them. I know there's different levels, but they are really doing a disservice to Hydra in this. It's almost impossible to believe this is the same organisation that took down Hydra and caused governments around the world to turn on SHIELD.
