What

/rushing to PSN/

EDIT: downloaded the demo and nothing. FUQ. i was too late:(

Or maybe I just didn't understand something

they are offering the game on three platforms on the page, offering two downloads but not stating to what platforms.

And nothing happens when you press download.

Hence SCEE Unfinished.

Is it me or the Hungry Horde kind of reminds The Wonderful 101?

...I completely misunderstood what you were saying, ha

The PS+ survey says that the amount of games I bought in the last 12 months is too big and refuses to accept my answer. I put it low, and chose 100, still refused it. 99 worked though
Guess they never heard of sales, bundles or Steam...

Was under the impression Freedom Wars was being released this Friday in the UK (31st). However looks like its available now after the store update. Just snagged me a copy.

Had time off this week and both Lords of the Fallen and Freedom Wars are released early. NICE!

Hoo boy 5 or 6 games for the Vita on PS+.

How do I hold all these games gaf?!

I don't have any of those 6 games. Good month for me.
No retail games, canceling my subscription ASAP.

But seriously though, I'm really excited to play BoI:R. Local co-op should be fun.

Good price but not good enough to wait a month for

I agree that AAA and indies have similar diversity and maybe on pc there are good indie equivalents to some AAA games, but that's not true on consoles, and even when two games are in the same genre the common console indie is 2d while the common console AAA is 3d, this alone makes them really different, so they are not equivalent at all.
Again most of those who buy home consoles want AAA games and that's what they play and buy the most, indies are just a nice addition and since PS+ used to give lots of AAA games disappointment is their only possible reaction to these months PS+.

Those people can vote with their wallet then because as far as the quality on offer is concerned, they don't have any ground to stand on.

Need some advice, fellow Vitagaffers. I fancy buying a new game, and I'm undecided between Freedom Wars (I'm interested, but kind of want to buy it and show my support for Sony actually bothering to release it over here), and Toukiden: The Age of Demons. How do these two compare structurally; is either set in a consistent world you can explore at will, or are they broke into specific levels or stages? I'd much prefer the former.

Also tempted by Ys: Memories of Celceta. Damn, I wish these had demos.

Ys games have rather slow starts, but then excel after the first 30 minutes or so, I don't think a demo might do it justice :P
jUST Get it, its effin' Ys you are guaranteed great gameplay and music.

Missed your pm flandy, but I think the 3.30 change allowed for people to see if others are playing older games (PSX, PSP, etc.). It might have been the patch before that.

One thing you should consider is that Freedom Wars just released while Toukiden is out for quite some time. These games are made for coop, so they depend on the community. Because of that alone, you should go for Freedom Wars first as there will be an extended release of Toukiden later on.

Can't really say anything about Freedom Wars yet, but disliked the Toukiden demo.

Thanks to FireCloud, I could almost stream Strider for an hour. I'm not used to that, but is kinda fun.

wish I could stream on vita as well :(

Should be instantaneous unless I'm misunderstanding you somehow.

If you're explicitly adding funds to your Paypal via your bank account that will take 3-5 days, but if you already have you bank account linked to Paypal your PSN wallet will be funded immediately.

It seems that people with a us account that are outside the us are having problems accessing the ps3 playstation store. All we get is a blue background with the three main options at the top. What the hell is going on?

You really shouldn't be using the PS3 PS Store link anyways anymore >_>;

Already have cash in pp..Kind of screwed adding my card to my pp though.

You need to create a new, US paypal account, with no CC attached to it. Then send money from your real account to that one.

There will be some tax in the process, so if you want to spend $5 on PSN send $6 or so.

Somehow managed to top up to $100 despite myself. I used it as an excuse to pick up a lot of psp and ps1 games. I guess that's good? Except I can't even download any of them to my 64g card because it's long full. And then the ps+ backlog makes my brain hurt.

So...who's all getting Freedom Wars tomorrow?

Got mine! Still in shrink wrap though while I plat another game I absolutely love.

But I wouldn't recommend using your CC for PSN/Sony(don't trust Sony's security after the PSN outage in the past :/).

Pretty much any company can get hacked once. I trust Sony's security systems far more than most now, because they've been forced to invest heavily in security due to the breach (which wasn't even that bad, thankfully).

So I was thinking about Silent Hill: Book of Memories. Played the demo and I liked it at first, but by the time I got to the second stage I was just...bored, I guess?

I bought it and invested maybe 10 hours into it, and felt it suffered from all the flaws you did. Never went back. I really wanted to like it, on paper it sounds like a game I'd love.

Are these programs really so inflexible? Did they not just license an already made system? would there not be a latin language bank to license? Honestly I don't understand how these things work very well, but it doesn't seem like it would be hugely expensive to "localize"

It depends on what the original scope of the project was. If someone just made a synth voice program for the Japanese language, then, yes, it really would be that inflexible. If some company made it for all languages, then they solved a lot of problems in doing so and I doubt licensing that kind of tech would come cheap. There would probably be one tier for a 1 language license, but a significantly more expensive cross-language tier... and Europe alone would require a pile of languages. It's not as easy/cheap as you'd think.

I'm being serious here, I have limited time to play because of school, work, and obviously my personal life, so I can't split my time to play two, three games in one day.

If you're enjoying it, play it. If you're not, delete it and go cold turkey. It will only sting for a few days. It's called kicking the habit.

Will I have any issues using the webstore to do this? As my account is NA (US..got it there grew up etc) despite me living in Taiwan?

Do note the account is NA and I will be getting PS+ US

I BELIEVE since you're using both a NA account and US PS+ that you shouldn't have issues, but I never had the chance to redeem anything like this outside of the US.

Freedom Wars, Freedom Wars, Freedom Wars, Freedom Wars

I have had barely any time to play and just did the first couple of training missions. This game is nuts.. it's great to play, has a very unique style to it with regards to adding flavor to the standard Monhun formula. Cover system, grappling hook, melee and gunplay, mounting enemies, rescuing captives, it just feels so dense! In a good way!

The graphics are razor sharp. Love the way everything is stylized. Not a huge fan of the monster design but hey, I get to sever their limbs! The main narrator(?) voice reminds me of Ace Combat 3.

I noticed that the app screen shows player progress and other useful information, haven't seen any Vita game do that. Neat!

I also tried PlayStation Live on Vita and it works very well. I just wish Vita was more succesfull so we had hope of a successor.. it would be incredible if we had a machine capable of broadcasting as well.

Have them both installed, then start Season 2 - it'll prompt you.

You play season 2 on Vita? Thinking about picking it up there since I have yet to play it. Played season 1 elsewhere but I lost my save so I'm going through Season 1 on Vita atm. These 3 second loading times during choices are annoying ;__;
