"selected digital retail partners" makes me think it'll be available on other stores, like... hopefully GOG. But probably not.
In any case, this is a really good deal.
SEGA isn't signed up with GOG, at least not yet.

As someone who bought it at full retail on PS3, and bought all the DLC when it was released, I'll buy 5 at full price on PC. Because I like PC 5 times more than PS3
OK, admittedly I'll probably not get all 5 of those copies at full price. And I like PC 100 times more, but I can't afford that.
Selvaria Mission DLC is fantastic, Edy Mission DLC is great. How are DLCs? I played the full game but never bought DLCs on PS3.
No. Even if I would agree that multiple maps makes up for the great reduction in per-map scope (I very much do not), what really breaks VC2 mechanically is the exceedingly grindy character progression system.
Don't get me wrong, I'd still buy VC2 if it was released on PC, just because I think the core of the series is that strong, but it's a step down in almost every regard from VC1, not just thematically.

Hard EX DLC is pretty weak as DLC, but neat as a standard exclusion. Edy challenge missions were more interesting, if you want to explore the individual classes.
Certainly so for the Selvaria DLC. For the challenges and Edy missions, I think any point during the latter half of the game would make sense.thanks!
Quite excited to try out the DLCs. Are they meant to be played after you beat the story?
Just port the OT with a higher resolution and framerate.I just claimed the OT by the way. No idea how I'll find the time, but I will. Or just reuse most of the PS3 OT.

It's up on Steam for pre-order! GO GO GO!
Why aren't there keyboard prompts?
VC2's maps killed combat for me, The troop placement strategy required in VC1 was so much better and the maps were why. Hell there was at least 4 levels in VC2 I was able to beat by just camping my guys outside a zone lineVC2 and 3 make battles in the first game feel slow and plodding in comparison. I think almost everyone agree that the character progression system was bad, but the actual combat mechanics in 2 are a big improvement on the first. People would acknowledge this if it wasn't limited by the size of the maps, but it still made for a very enjoyable experience.
Also anyone who did not like 2 should make the effort to go and play 3, it fixes everything that was wrong with it and overall is the best game in the series (shame it wasn't on PS3 though)
Why aren't there keyboard prompts?
It had the controller connected?
Yeah, I agree with this fully.
In VC I never just took "a shocktrooper" or "a sniper" into a battle, I'd take Edy and Marina.
1080p screens.
Surprise, surprise, Valkyria Chronicles isn't available on Steam in Japan. When it comes to PC releases like this or Sonic Generations, Sega is sure showing the love for its own country. It's up on Steam for pre-order! GO GO GO!
Steam Achievements! The moment every early PS3 adopter has been waiting for.
£14.99 is a bit more than I was expecting, but if you guys are telling me it's worth it, I'll accept the hit!
Is VC2 a step down mechanically or do people mostly just hate the cast? Does it fix the balance issues with the Scout class I've heard about?
