Nope. Well, everything looks "similar" due to the nature of diminishing returns... But i have very deep doubts that even a sli 980GTX could run the initial reveal on 30fps.
Well we are comparing leaked copy of PS 4 version to trailers and "screenshots" published during dev cycle, no? So what PC version has to do with this?
Also I take huge grain of salt with me when looking any "gameplay" videos or screenshots published by Ubisoft. Watch_Dogs was just too big case of bullshotting and downgrading for me.
Also because of W_D I wouldn't trust PC version to be level of promo material before someone gets hands on with PC version of Unity and shows to me that it's at that level.

Watch Dogs on PC looked like the Nvidia trailer released a few weeks before, why would it turn out otherwise with Unity ?

I think the game looks nice and better than the last one. Paris is a great setpiece. We all knew that it wouldn't look as good as The Witcher 3.
I hate it when shadows are disabled in real life too.
I mean, come on, I don't wake up in the morning for this downgraded shit.
If you're going to be snarky, you might want to use a photo with no shadows. Plenty of AO there.

Game Devs, especially Ubisoft with their track record, should be held accountable for their downgrade frauds, they tactically suck in your cash with bullshot(/shit) videos and screenshots, then spend more time quickly rushing the game out the door on a yearly cycle, to all platforms with a copy + paste compromise, instead of optimizing to hit their targets shown to the customers!
We as gamer's are not experts, but there is plenty of experience and knowledge to know when developers do not attain the quality potential on some of the lead-platforms. We deserve more than blurry 900p/30fps copy + pasted to all platforms with miss-directional excuses and PR statements.
If not by release day of their game they haven't come clean they should be sue-able for false advertising. But unfortunately shit rolls down hill + we are at the bottom of it. The only power we have is with our wallets.

Don't worry. I highly doubt this game will runs the same on xbone hardware at 900p. WD struggle to substain the same performance of the ps4 version at 768p, the real problem it's how will end for the xbone hardware in terms of fps.

Considering how crappy the final product(The downgraded games) usually runs on even the best of GPUs, i don't think i said anything unreasonable. Have you forgotten Watchdogs and AC3?

Both could hit 30fps locked on mid-range hardware at the time of release. I played AC3 at 60fps on my 670 with LOD toned down a notch.
60fps on Unity at max PC settings will challenge any setup (or almost) but speaking for myself a fluctuating framerate at 1080p is a much better option than 900p/30fps without any room for improvement.

But in motion I just can't see it. I don't get the exaggeration but I doubt while you are playing the game, it's going to look this bad. I don't know, from the videos I've seen, I have never seen it look like this in game ever.
I'm still pissed with ubisoft but this generally looks like an amazing game. This just doesn't seem like such a big deal imo if they might be a slight iQ hick up that could be a beta build. We don't know.......

There's a reason on why they carefully construct those small segments as well as probably prerender them.I believe so too. Just because 60fps at max PC settings requires a monster PC does not mean such a setup is required to have a much better experience than consoles.
I don't expect Unity to be different.
I would need to rewatch Nvidias W_D video, but if memory serves me right that one had tens times better lightning than game itself ended up having.
AC: Unity video looks more plausible tho when looking at these PS 4 shots.
It is E3 build ( aka better screenshots ).

I don't think you know how powerful the 980 is, it runs some games at 4k 60 fps. Two 980s would probably run most games at 4k 60 fps.
And you're telling me that it wouldn't run it at 1080P 30 fps, in that case it would the most unoptimized game ever.

Do you actually have the game on PC ? I do and I can confirm the PC version looks great but not as good as the very first showing.
I think every sku will looks fairly similar all things considered. The game is built around a common denominator for a reason.
But as per usual pretty things come at a cost, PC isn't magic, if you want all the bells and whistles + 60fps in the same package top end hardware will be required.
But console settings at 1080p/30fps shouldn't be too taxing. I reckon a 7950 grade GPU will do the job.
Which is why PC gaming isnt particularly appealing to me as a primarily console gamer right now (ex PC gamer) - Had a look at alot of benchmarks on the 980 + the R9 295x2 and with everything on max at 1440p they struggle or only just about hit 60fps on some of the current crop of games (ofc everything maxxed out) , nevermind anything that is likely on the horizon requiring more power.
I accept there is a noticeable difference in quality ofc, but unoptimized 3rd party games from even Ubisoft on PC isnt exactly mouth-watering to want to splash £1300/$2000, you can achieve great results with brute forcing on powerful hardware, but how long can that future proof be at high prices.

This game better have ambient music, they seriously fucked that up with AC3. Definitely does look great though.
It's not a question of optimization... The whole point is to provide the best possible engine footage to sell the game. The very notion that similar IQ or graphical quality could be achieved in the actual game is laughable, the engine features were turned to the maximum they could.
That ad hominem could theoretically make me a hypocrite if i didn't give shit to From for that deception. Keep trying though.

What you saw in the inital reveal is nothing two 980's or even one 980 couldn't handle, if anything it would be CPU bottlenecked.
As long as they don't do what they did with Havana in Black Flag. It felt really weird when you were jus strolling arounf the city, and you got this epic, booming, orchestra in the background. It felt so out of place that I thought it was a bug at first.

Except no. Because the Pc version of Far Cry 3, at maximum detail, didn't looked like the E3 video but worse (and there were comparisons showing it), same with Watch Dogs.
Same with AC Unity.

Not sure how you got that from my post but okay, when you look at benchmarks you need to understand what the settings do. When you say :

Max settings could mean the game is running at 1440p with 4x SSAA which is a ridiculously demanding setting and you can't really expect the GPU to handle that at 60 fps
I'll give you Watchdogs, but I ran AC3 at an almost perfect 60 FPS back when it first launched. If I recall I had to lower the draw distance, but that was the only issue I remember having.

Lowering the LOD at PS4 level (high, not ultra) also greatly improves performance. 60fps is perfectly achievable on PC, ultra is very punitive though.
Point being it was more of a rant based on the reveal PC footage how TOP PC cards struggle in alot of cases to push everything to max to the 'general-consensus minimum' on PC of 60fps on unoptimized games, typically from Ubisoft, but yeah, I do understand I am asking ALOT of the GPU's - but still, holygrail of gaming and that pedestal etc
Would personally rather see a little more time, TLC + optimisation from Devs instead of throwing out games on yearly cycles. They will likely sell more in the longrun + customer gets better quality games, both PC + Consoles.
