The charisma people are talking about is the fact that his character carries himself with confidence that belies skill while at the same time being chill enough to not feel pretentious about it. That allows him to have friendly dialogue with anyone at any given time without it feeling forced.

Basically he's killing it acting wise but is only hamstrung by the plot not demanding much of him.

I really don't see it. In fact some scenes he has been downright bad (like in the scene where he and Simmons are in that lab room at the end of season 1). In fact it seems like a lot of the role he was going to fill has been replaced with Mac.

In season 1 they made a point of highlighting his technical skills, at first people thought that he might replace Fitz (if Fitz was going to die or some such), but it's pretty clear with season 2 that he was being positioned as the one who would be helping Fitz in the lab for season 2. They could have played off how Fitz didn't like him to begin with as well.

But that entire role has now gone to a completely new character (Mac) who is a much better actor, and we have seen Tripplet do absolutely nothing in season 2 since.

He is in another show that is currently filming on BET Being Mary Jane. It might be as simple as that. He just isn't available because they do a lot of on location filming.

I wonder if they will kill him off in Avengers 2.

Maybe Joss demanded a character from the show to kill in Avengers 2 (because he is a jerk) and so the other Whedon is trying to make it easier on the fans by making sure as few people as possible fall in love with him.

Do we know if Age of Ultron will come out between episodes or will season 2 be finished by the time AoU is released?

If the season isn't over by the time AoE is released it will be very annoying for me. I'm in Australia and the movie is released here before America. lol

Season 2 should be done before AoU, yes.

That would only be true if they decide to air more episodes before the mid-season finale than after. If this season is split evenly then there should be at least 2 episodes after Age of Ultron.

How about SkyeXFalicity:

Finally caught up. This show is on fire. So the split between the de facto 3 acts (AoS/Peggy/AoS) is 8/8/8, correct? So there are only two more episodes of AoS until spring.

Last I heard they were planning to do 10 of AoS, then the 8 episode Carter stretch, then another 12 of AoS, but that might have changed.

Fitz x Mack 5eva. They're being called FitzMack on the tumblrs.

And the comment that imaginary Simmons and Fitz made about Mack being attractive was not Fitz implying that Simmons is also into Mack. I can't believe that would be the take away for some people. Fitz even immediately afterward said that he knows he finds Mack attractive because that Simmons is his subconscious. Fitz thinks Mack is hot.

His name is Mack? I'm still calling him Discount Dwayne Johnson.
Henry doesn't doesn't look like The Rock!!! >_<

He's also more attractive too. YEAH, I SAID IT. (Dwayne is still hot though.)

That's not a lot to acknowledge the world-changing events that will surely happen in Age of Ultron?

It should be enough to set up something. I hope that they could have either Chris Evans or Robert Downey Jr guest star.

:D :D D :D

Was expecting finale to lead into it, not for there to be a TV epilogue.

I was expecting that too before I learned that Agent Carter was starting in January. I'm glad that there will be some episodes afterwards.

Stray observation; I'm sure Fitz has referred to Simmons as Jemma before, but I don't think I've ever heard her call him Leo. Not sure if intentional.

I'm sure I heard both of them call each other by their first name. I assumed it was because they were college friends. They use their last name when other people from the team are around, to stick with the convention.

How common is it in the workplace to address someone by their last name in the US?

depends on the workplace and person, i call people by their last name all the time as there are typically less duplicates.

in a military or government type org, calling people by their last name is the standard.

I hope for AoS to stay on air long enough for Black Panther. Let them have to go to Wakanda for something.

Coulson:" Hydra is trying to wipe out everyone!!"

T'challa:"No they will wipe you out, Wakanda will endure"

Makes me wonder how long Hydra will remain a threat. AoU still has the twins and the Baron but I can see them focusing on Hydra mainly on AoS.

Really the only two organizations that are really like SHIELD in scope are SWORD for extraterrestrials and ARMOR for alternate reality stuff. STRIKE and SAFE were British and US versions of SHIELD since technically SHIELD works under the UN.

Are you seriously unaware of HAMMER? It's evil SHIELD.

It's funny and I hate to bring this into the thread but I wanted to discuss it. I was reading an old Avengers vs Dark Knight thread and how people had decided that Nolan was some kind of great visionary and Whedon had no discernible talent and I thought that I'd check what they are critically, not where they are 'people on the internet' and I felt that Metacritic would be best for a quick look (67 for Whedon, 69 for Nolan in case you wondered).

Interestingly enough this resulted in me seeing the score for Agents of Shield season 1 (74, by the way) and as we exist in an ever-present battle of Marvel vs DC I thought I'd check Arrow (73) and I realised how full of shit people are. I've seen the first season of Arrow and saw it after consistently reading how AOS was trash and this was the real-deal, I know people who watch Arrow but they hadn't seen AOS so the comparison was never drawn and all I had to go off of was the internet.

I'll be the first to admit that AOS season 1 left me wanting but realising how critical this thread has been on Gaf and the lack of criticism I saw for Arrow left me feeling as if I had been on the wrong side of the argument critically due to the amount I had been told that AOS was terrible and Arrow was great.

Just thought I'd share my thoughts as I felt like writing it down somewhere.
