Finally got my hands on it. Can't even use supersampling. I bumped it up to 8x and it runs at 20fps. Anything beyond that you can just imagine. Everything else is maxed out except the AA which is on smaa2. All caches are off. Please tell me this is a bug!

Haha what were you expecting with 8x supersampling? Turn it down to 2 or off unless you have a million vram and better cards.

How would it be a bug? Running at 8x your native resolution is obviously going to be taxing.

You are aware of what supersampling consists of right?

Actually no :D

EDIT :
You should Google it then turn it off lol.

Alright alright..
I've never heard of the supersampling stuff so it just sounded awesome and so I maxed it out lol
Sowy! :C
Now I know better!!!

Just out of curiosity, not saying it's the reason you prefer it's feel on PS4, but does the PC version add aim assist with the controller? That's fairly uncommon.

PC has aim assist but the flow of the game is not as smooth as PS4. I'm on a 780. apparently others are experiencing this too and to fix you have to run borderless and sync on. Both I don't want to do.

I have to jump in:

LOL!!!

sorry.

Yeah the stutter is still there on the bigger maps even in windowed mode. Throwing my game off and making me do bad. Won't play until this gets patched. I would be quite embarrassed and ashamed for releasing the game in such a state.

So how are the 2gig graphics cards doing? I've got a 680.

Devs don't care this is why it continues to happen over and over again.. Watch dogs for example..

Pisses me off, starting to really get over gaming. And im not sure if it's because im past my 30's or because of the absolute shit they release.

Sucks too because in the instances I do get smooth gameplay, the multiplayer is really fun to me.

And SSD does NOT give you extra FPS. It has nothing to do with how a game plays. Increase load times yes but that is all.

Decrease usually.

Also, if you're running a game where you fall short on RAM, having quick access to your swap file will help reduce the length of page swap stutters.

Just fine, at least at more conventional resolutions. I'm on an old 1.2GB GTX 570 and it's been smooth sailing with high textures.

Maxxed out the Game is always around 1.8-2.1 VRAM. 2 are more than fine.

w00t w00t and I'm running 1080 so I'm gonna think about this. I almost wish there was some sort of limited time 19.99 version with just the campaign.

I'm getting some really bad random lag mid match sometimes. I will get like 5 fps and can't move my mouse or anything. The game will continue to lag for 10 seconds straight while my hard drive light starts blazing up.

Is there some intermittent loading going on while the game runs? I moved it over to a SSD and it's really improved, but still happens on a lesser scale.
Running on a GTX 760.

For some reason, I have my graphics at the max, but everything is at the lowest detail possible in MP. I don't have SSAA on, but everything else is max. Any idea?

My R9 280x is doing a piss poor job in multiplayer to be honest. Constant stuttering etc. Going to rather go for console, closed platform will be better for me.

I've heard people say that the shadow caching settings are wonky and are fucking up texture quality. Might try turning those off for now, see if that's it.

Game isn't even officially released yet......... wait a minute.

It's not just about this game, they have game ready drivers usually up before release and even those aren't really "game ready". But the game still runs fine on a single GTX970 at 1080P.

And? I don't see how that makes them a "trash" of a developer. From what I'm seeing this is the most optimized port of CoD in years and it really seems to work beautifully on the PC. It's not perfect but it seems like they've done a nice job.

I am really baffled about some of the comments here as well. By most accounts the PC version of Advanced Warfare is really solid with lots of graphical options, great performance and good looks. If there are a couple of bugs with some configurations they will likely be sorted out soon, calling the developers names is completely uncalled for. I find the continuous whining about the quality of the PC versions of current gen games annoying and unjustified. Almost all of them, apart from maybe Watchdogs at launch, look and run much better than the console versions.

Ghosts and Advanced Warfare have inconsistent frametimes here and there without help. But using RTSS with 60 fps limiter, both are PERFECT (in fullscreen). I can play with only one 680GTX locked 60 fps (1080p optimal settings, HBAO+ and SMAA Tx2 filmic) Forcing SLI I can rise the resolution up to 2880x1620 but in a few places the shaders cache doesn't work fine, I guess a new driver is necessary to full sli support.

That's not true. For example in IDTech5 games, every frame the engine has to transcode textures from disk to memory so a fast disk could improve performance.

Another example is with Shaders compiling and cacheing where a slow disk can affect framerate.

Nowadays games need to access disk a lot because levels and assets tend to be bigger and bigger while RAM use is somewhat stagnant.

What SLI bits are you using?

I can't remember the bits (I will post them when I get home), a lot of flags activated in nvidia inspector. But scaling is not 100% at all. 2880x1620 has a 43 fps as mininum in one gpu and 62 as mininum with 3 gpus. Not optimal but good enough taking account the good performance of the game. Problem is that shader cache works fine for one gpu (avoiding hitches while playing when new shaders are needed) but not for more gpus (some shaders are not loaded in loading screen). I think sli bits were similar to farcry3 bits.

I am interested in this as well. The ghost bits didn't seem to improve performance much when I tried them yesterday (although I was trying to run the game smoothly in 120fps, did not test high resolutions).

Looking forward to it.

Going through the campaign all the pre mission cinematics have A/V syncing issues. After I watch them through the first time it syncs fine. Weird.

on GeForce.com a little later ;)

I hope for a 334.60 driver with SLI support and not a tech article about the game.
