Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare PC Performance Thread

I am getting around 70-100 FPS on Max settings (but with no AA) with a GTX 680 2GB and an i5-3750k 3.4 GHz processor.

I am pretty happy with the performance.

Also, sadly utilizing the borderless workaround (my gsync monitor am cry ;-;) and locking the framerate to 60 with MSI AB, I'm getting pretty good results at 2x supersampling (1080p native) with everything else maxed on my 780/i7 960 combo. A few drops during cutscenes aside, which after DR3 I'm going to say it's probably due to subsurface scattering, I'm pretty happy other than the lack of a FOV slider in SP. Hopefully they'll patch it in considering the requirements list it as supporting 65-90 FOV...

New driver inbound then ? Great.
Hoping for stability fixes in Alien Isolation, or perhaps CA need to do something on their end.
Driver auto detect gave me these.

You should use DSR instead of Supersampling. Much better IQ.

Fucking hell kicks me back to the stupid cut scene just for changing resolution. At 1080p each card (970) is only at about 35-40% use and it's just sitting on the 60hz vsync.

The cards aren't going to go all out at 1080p with VSync enabled. Crank up the res with DSR and turn off VSync and you'll see some proper usage.

Yeah I know. That's why I tried upping to 4K and the damn cut scene at the start is unskippable.

Edit: son of a bitch. Left super sampling on with 4k so a little ridiculous and then go to turn it off, watch cut scene again.

This port has been very kind to my gtx 680 2gb. I have a decent i5 haswell with 16 gigs of ram but I thought this was going to make me to upgrade to the 970.

It runs constantly over 70 fps with everything cranked up at 1440p except for shadow resolution set to medium, super sampling turned off and 2x aa. Couldn't be happier with my performance.

Activating DSR disables custom resolutions. DeadPool has smooth framerate only with a custom 59hz or 50hz resolution. I want to use DSR because IQ is really incredible (for me, with smooth at 22), but there are a few games that need custom refreshrates.

Mmm, maybe using GeDoSaTo I could fool those games with modified refreshrates...

My card usage is a bit interesting at 4K vsync off.

When I alt+tab out card 1 gets pegged at 99%. In game it's all over the place as can be seen.

There is a fix for the level loading issue in 344.60.

Still crashes (AI.exe stopped responding) on loading on my system (no freezes or hang). Faulty module : d3d110dll and display driver stopped responding.

The workaround is to disable some effects (tessellation mostly), I suppose CA will have to look into that.

What they introduced in 344.48 broke that and COD-Ghosts too (with the same error).

Shadow of Mordor must be a real hard nut to crack.

Does dsr work with borderless windowed, though? Normally it wouldn't matter, but borderless is the only way to minimize stuttering atm for aw :/

While Impressive, I'm amazed at how long it is taking Shadow of Mordor to get a proper SLI profile, the devs even said in September they will have an SLI profile soon.

We are now in November and neither the devs nor Nvidia are able to implement proper SLI,however SLI for Call of Duty is great, I cant wait to test it out.

Glad to see the Alien Isolation and Shadow of MOrdor talk in the CoD thread. I thought for a second the new driver fixed the level loading issue with this game.

I know it's off-topic but the new driver fixes the hang/freeze during loading. I loaded 4-6 saves to check, unfortunatey on some occasion the game crashes to desktop with the same faulty module and driver error, it's been like this ever since the 344.11 driver.

I've loaded 4-6 saves with maximum settings and shader cache disabled, no crashes thus far.

Stepped into daylight in Korea in the first level and thought I had loaded up MW3 by accident, please tell it gets better looking than this.

I am on max settings with a 980 GTX, and the shadow cache is off.

Welcome to next gen, Jesus. Even Ghosts had a better wow factor in the first level.

It gets better. I would say the first mission is the worst looking of all the missions I have played so far. Currently on mission 5.

Any news on amd's end regarding a driver update? If they ignore this I may have to go with team green sooner then anticipated.

So I had been playing at default settings this whole time since it didn't save when I changed it. Well automatic settings.

Anyway, maxed with super sampling x2 I'm getting a pretty constant 90fps with some dips into the 70s.

GTX 780 ti
i5 3570k
1080p

Can't complain at all

This is Multi player, I don't play CoD single player.

Damn this game looks and performs wonderfully. I'm running this game at 2560x1600 downsampled with a 290 and am getting 75~100 fps on most scenes with max settings.

For some reason my FOV keeps resetting back to 65 in multiplayer whenever I use the perk Gun Ho? or w/e it's called. It's quite annoying, mid game it zooms in :(

Actually using DSR with custom refresh rates is possible. Check this thread:

970 + rog swift

1440p supersampled x2

I feel like i'm landing kills that I would have missed on a 1080p 60ps monitor. The fidelity is so much nicer

Thanks. Tutorial read. I need to create a 1920x1079@50 hz custom res because DeadPool has a locked framerate of 59 fps and doesn't allow to select different refreshrates for selected resolution. The only way is having a custom res at 50 or 59hz and select that resolution in the game.

How can do this using your tutorial? Because I only see it's a fix for games that allow to select the refreshrate and those are a minority.

I recently bought a gtx 980 and have it overclocked 1500+ stable. What kind of smoothness would you recommend for dsr? Dicking around with that is the only thing that frustrates me....have it at 25% at the moment

In Nvidia Control Panel you could try to create a resolution with the refresh rate you need and after that enable all DSR factors. Then go to "Change resolution" tab. Now while you're still on desktop choose and apply the resolution you want to use ingame. Go to Windows Control Panel >Hardware and Sound >Display >Adjust resolution >Advanced settings, navigate to "Monitor" tab and under "Screen refresh rate:" Select your custom refresh rate and apply. So now you're using your custom refresh rate and the res you want to use ingame already on the desktop. Maybe the game will detect it this way.

I haven't downloaded 344.60 yet because I'm still at work, but I've found that with 344.48, enabling vsync through the control panel (with in-game vsync disabled) and setting maximum pre-rendered frames to "2" fixed the crashes on loading in Alien: Isolation.

What kind of performances can I expect with this ?

8gb ram
GTX 780 DCU2 OC Edition
i5-3570k
1080p resolution

Everything max plus 2x supersampling and you should be getting something like 60 fps locked except for the most graphics intensive parts of the campaign.

I'm getting annoying load stutter at the beginning of a match. If that's fixed then I have no complaints. Game looks and runs great, otherwise.

Doesn't work because the game uses UE3 and works in exclusive fullscreen at the highest refreshrate of the resolution that is into the game config in registry, doesn't look for desktop resolution/refreshreate.

Btw, in the case this will work, is not a fix in any way because I want to launch my games directly from Steam Big Picture without changing desktop options.

Thank you anyway.

I had tried DSR before, and for some reason it looked like shit compared to my own custom resolutions. I then realized I was letting my display do the scaling instead of the GPU. I'm guessing that's probably what's wrong.
