"Tracer bounds backward in time, returning her health, ammo and position on the map to precisely where they were a few seconds before."

That's a sweet ability.
I thought the same, most interesting character ability by far. I'd play that.

I think from a gameplay perspective there is no reason why this game can't be on console. The question becomes if they do a LOL style monetization how that will work on closed systems.

Microsoft patch standards and certification. Same reason why TF2 never got patched. Vanilla Overwatch could be on console sure, but will Microsoft allow them to put stuff out quickly and regularly when the project demands it?

So why would a mini-game be one of the first things they have completed instead of actual parts of the main game? Seems to me there was some major mismanagement of resources.
Main working components of the game would take far longer than a minigame used to test mechanics.
Judging by Blizzard's decision to rebuild the game off of the minigame, shows that Titan's original direction wasn't the best.

Can't say I'm too happy seeing an FPS as the first new IP from blizzard in a long ass time. That said, it does look good.

I was actually wondering when we'll see a new IP shooter...

This looks great. The fact that it's elimination/no respawn style is what interests me the most.

It's also interesting that they are using characters. Really helps the appeal, I imagine this is to bank on F2P models.

Damn, it even looks like it was made on TF2's source engine.

Seems like it might be tough to balance with so many different characters, but we'll see. Could be super fun. Could be a fuckin mess.

Blizzard trying to take over another genre. pickup where valve failed to like they did you.

Erm, what? Blizzard missed an opportunity with Dota, sure, and they are trying to address that in part with HOTS. Valve have without a doubt been successful with what they have done so far particularly with TF2. This game looks like a step forward and more fleshed out version, but it simply doesn't compare to something like Dota from what we know. That thing moves the genre in a very different direction, where as Overwatch so far hasn't demonstrated that

Here's the real question. How long will Overwatch avoid the touch of other Blizzard IPs? Because Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft, HOTS, and Hearthstone have all had some of that product synergy. But pretty much all of it is accepted because either the lore or the art style is close enough that it doesn't feel that out of place.

This is completely different looking and in its own shell, but I expect them to still implement something just because it helps sell stuff like Collectors Editions.

Am I the only one even more curious as the what the "normal" titan was.

If anything this will bring back some arena shooter love

Definitely. Spatial relocation dependent on previous actions doesn't seem common in arena shooters (how would I know, I haven't played them all).

Really love the art style and the gameplay vid. Definitely going to play this when it comes. Would be a nice refresher from playing TF2 all these years.

The IP looks interesting but dunnot about the TF2 gameplay. Would have loved something a little more new and interesting instead of just another straight up team vs team round based multiplayer game.

The launch trailer reminded me of the previously similarly titled EA game - Overstrike

Hopefully this game doesnt get focus tested to shit like Overstrike Fuse did.

I guess I'm looking at things from the TF2 perspective. Team balance matters a lot in class-based shooters and having things like a healer rotate in and out of the f2p roster would make the meta kind of hard to keep up with.
Since it's looking like there will be a decent sized stable of characters, I'd be surprised if there weren't multiple healers. If so, at minimum one would stayin rotation. HoTS is similar by rotating more based on character type than anything else. Very much looking forward to this game.

This looks really, really neat. The art style is somewhat derivative, but it has that unmistakable Blizzard flavor and I like it quite a bit. Gameplay looks super fun. I'm sold already.

Blizz focus testing would be fans immediately saying, 'Yes I love it' then complaining about it after it comes out.

I'm undecided here. If they cycle through at least one for free throughout the months/years, a first purchase to focus on one character should still be extrodinarily cheap if it follows LoL. Even if you hated it, then bought a character in hopes that you'd like it, then hated it and dropped it, you would lose less than if you bought Destiny.

Hearing that it will be F2P with mircrotransations is crushing. Starting to feel that maybe I'm getting too old for this industry.
